The whole plot of Adam “getting powerful beings to be in his debt" for some mysterious purpose is so funny to me because

a) it lead to absolutely nothing and

b) it was ALWAYS Silver Surfer

“I'm rescuing Silver Surfer because I need powerful beings in my debt and now I'm helping him rescue his wife without him even asking because I need powerful people in my debt and that's also why I'm saving Thor from madness... WITH SILVER SURFER"

He genuinely did everything in such an unnecessarily nefariously scheming way that it's really no wonder that Norrin didn't trust him but you can tell that he really wanted him to but he just highkey sucked at it. Adam told him he'd save his wife and Surfer was like but what do you want in return and bro genuinely replied "friendship" while looking like this:

And once again this wasn't part of ANY master plan or anything (unless I’m missing something here). Maybe there were plans originally but in retrospect it's so funny because he apparently genuinely just wanted friendship !! and then at the end Surfer is like "yeah I'm in your debt or whatever" and then Adam asks "but not my friend?" only to follow it up with "yea that was never part of the deal anyway !" It actually EXPLICITLY was. That's the ONLY thing you wanted out of this. Norrin does later call him his friend when talking about him though so a win is a win I guess
