## 爱 unus annus. ╱╱ MEMENTO MORI
i think finding ancient human remains and studying them is fascinating but it also makes me sad like...please bury them...
once again talking about arbitrary time thresholds but at what point does a person stop being a person? how long do they have to be dead for it to be "okay" to keep them displayed? it really makes my heart ache because these are people who just kept getting passed around and taken from place to place for the sake knowledge and education (and not to mention the blatant destruction and consumption of mummies by wh*te people before) but it just feels so wrong to me. there are far too many bodies on display that should be buried and/or repatriated
diet culture is so rooted in the idea that our bodies are machines that our minds have to outwit. it pushes for the idea that hunger is something you have to “beat”, that cravings are an annoyance to ignore or outwit, that the way our bodies want to look and want to be is something to fight, that it needs to be helped to do things it was built to do.
here is the liberating truth- your body is so smart and it is trying to help you. it works so hard to keep you alive- sometimes it fails at what it’s trying to do, sometimes it does it in unconvential ways, but it is trying to keep you alive! hunger is our body saying “we need food”- it’s not something to ignore or supress. cravings are our body saying “we need a specific type of food”- they aren’t something to trick or prevent. natural weight and weight distribution are our body saying “this is the shape in which we work best”- they aren’t something to control or reduce. denying this is what hurts us most- even though diet culture tries to tell us that listening to our bodies and treating them with kindness and forgiveness is wrong.
My body is a lot like a very good dog. It wants to protect me. It’s just that sometimes it does its job and protects me by barking at a burglar and sometimes it’s just the mailman. I still should say “what is it, girl, what do you see?” and validate that alert if I want the protection to work properly.
Even when my body is like “we need one thousand pounds of chocolate immediately” I should think like huh, well that doesn’t sound right, but obviously something is going on here. Is my blood sugar low? Am I dehydrated? Am I missing out on some vitamin my body really needs right now?
telling teenagers it doesn’t get better is so cruel and irresponsible. you’re suppose to be the adult stop trying to get doomer cred and act like a sympathetic human being
Broke: it doesn’t get better
Woke: it’s gets better if you put in the work to MAKE it better
ok but your brain finishes re-wiring itself and completes the adolescent maturation process at around age 27-30 so it literally does just get better
reaching thirty is like making it to a save point. it really does get better.
This is all the more important right now with the pandemic potentially wasting a big portion of many kids’ childhood and teenage years. They musn’t think this is it for them. Hell no.
And things aren’t set for you after 30. I was suffering miserably at 30. I’m 43 new, and have a new life and am the happiest I have ever ever been. It gets better. Yes, even for ADULTS, it can get better.
classically trained but we’ll still fuck ya up
Stiiiillll endlessly annoyed over the fact that I posted this, and someone fucking stripped my caption giving attribution. So once again, they are

Paras is lovely this time of year.
mad about the idea of money being exchanged for goods and services
first of all, explain to me, what makes them “goods”, instead of , “bads”
hsfdjkgsdfkdlsf\g i’m screaming because,,,, idk if op knows this but,,,,,,, this is a real thing in economics that we talk about and draw models of:
MONEY CAN BE EXCHANGED FOR BADS AND DISSERVICES
I mad agree with this.
This reminds me, if y'all haven’t heard of therapyforblackgirls.com please visit if you need a therapist. You can search by mental health need, location/distance, insurance, etc. I believe there are some that provide a sliding scale payment method for those without insurance.
If you’re not quite ready to make the jump, there is a podcast you can listen to as well as articles and links to help answer some of your questions about mental health and/or therapy.
The purpose, as I understand it, is to provide a place where black women can go to find culturally sensitive therapy. Some specialize in family/couples as well.
Take a look.
For any black Women following me!
Taking care of your mental health is another important factor in your overall health. Fighting for good mental health is a fight worth doing, and is just as difficult, if not moreso, than physical fighting.
-FemaleWarrior, She/They
Especially with everything going on right now. We constantly hear how strong we are and it’s like no we can be tired, emotional, stressed too and we need to take care of our mental health. Here are some free therapy sessions that I’ve seen going around. Please share

The sad truth
I didn’t understand the boring message of this picture i thought it was an important message about how all the kites made nowadays are too damn small
roommates of tumblr, stop using metal utensils on your roommates nonstick pans and stop soaking their cast iron pans in soap thank you and god bless
roommates of the world: it doesn’t actually matter if you use metal on nonstick every once in a while
their pans:
for those wondering, those scratches are where the non-stick coating has been scraped off (usually by metal utensils or cleaning utilities like steel wool), which means that food will stick more in those spots. plus, there runs the risk of more bits of that coating coming off into your food as you cook.
Non-stick pans and skillets are best for medium heat as they don't conduct heat as well, and for wetter foods like eggs and fish and pancakes.
On the other hand, cast iron pans and skillets don't have a built in protective coating. The metal will absorb grease and fats as they cook, building up an equally efficient non-stick coating of its own. And without the chemical coating that non-stick pans come with, there's no risk of any of it flaking off or melting into your food. They can handle higher temperatures without damage, and they get hot faster on the burner. Beef, pork, and chicken are best cooked on cast iron.
You don't want to let them soak in soap because it will remove that grease coating that makes the cast iron pan's non-stickiness, plus absorb soap that might melt back off into your food. A soap and sponge rub down is all it needs.
@marraphy
nooooo dont put soap on your cast irons /at all/!!! you should only be rinsing them off right after use while hot with water and if there are bits stuck on use salt and paper towel to rub it off, if that doesnt work, then you boil water and salt in the pan and rub more salt, i promise it works and keeps your cast irons in tip top condition, and after you clean it heat it up to remove water & reseason with a /light/ coating of oil
you know how people call characters their wives/husbands/etc? well, i think i’m going to start claiming relations to fictional characters just to fuck with people. so, anyways, this one time i was out with my cousin, sonic the hedgehog, and
I cannot believe… they let chris rock get away with this
he ain’t lie
He really didn’t
The real power move here is that the witness gave a very specific and useful description that the police could use to conduct their search. Yes, the suspect was black but he also offered height, weight, what he was wearing and non-racial identifying features. it was THE COPS who took all this useful information and decided to weaponize it against a kid.
This isn’t just an accurate depiction of how racism works. It’s a specific call-out about racist cops and the negative effect of racism on police work.
tbh.. life really IS like the sims..
