why is it that trying to help people struggling in this system is met with punishment. no one should ever be turned away from food, water, and shelter. it doesnt matter what they did, or what so and so says they did, when someone is struggling you help them. i wish i could be more hands on here but the last time i did that it was too much, i was basically on my own with someone who had needs i couldnt meet by myself. had a breakdown and i wasnt there for my partners as much as i should've been. but helping people shouldnt come at such a cost. its the collective prerogative to reduce suffering. you are letting an individualistic society corrupt community. community is what makes us human.

So I'm a big star wars fan, and let me tell you, I have never seen alien designs executed as well as I have in the Supergirl movie.

Not in anything ever, not even stuff outside of star wars.

I've never seen such an obvious variety of alien designs (both humanoid and not) and some of them are puppetry, some are just people in cosmetics (is that the right word?) and some of them are CGI (I assume) and it all blended together in a way that felt so believable!

Lake Kaindy (Қайыңды көлі, Qaiyñdy kölı, the "birch tree lake" or landslide), also known as a “sunken forest”, is a lake located in the Kolsay Lakes National Park in Kazakhstan, 129 kilometers away from Almaty. The lake was created as a result of a landslide triggered by an earthquake over 100 years ago, forming a natural dam that blocked the gorge. Surprisingly, the water that filled the dam didn't destroy the spruce trees. Instead, it created a lake and its cold temperature prevented the tree trunks from decomposing.

Been thinking about lot about women in Godzilla films lately, especially Ishiro Hondas and his other vfx films as well. How they're l kindve central peice to Godzillas identity as a .. product? Piece of commercial.art? Idea?

In Godzilla, the fate of the world is decided by, what would be considered at the time, a more feminine drama, about romance and betrayal. Like, Emiko is the main character of Godzilla and her story isn't that she's the scientist who discovered it or the soldier who has to kill it. Shes a girl in an arranged marriage, and she loves him like a brother, but she wants marry someone else. And even though she loves her fiance so dearly, she has to betray his most terrible secret.

That kindve drama would habe been intended to appeal to women. Set against the dinosaur attack giant monster movie to appeal to men. And they did it repeatedly! Theyre not always the main character or particularly feminist stories, but so many Godzilla movies are driven forward by the experiences of women!

All the way through to the Heisei, Millenium and Hollywood series too! Even fucking GodzillaXKong is about a mother being afraid of the realization her daughter may grow up and leave her!

I fucking love Godzilla movies!!! Theyre so interesting to rotate in my mind! I find new facets to fall in love with constantly!

Legendary fantasy artist John Blanche has died. He is known mostly for his long association with Games Workshop, where he served as art director and created many of the iconic images that shaped the Warhammer and 40K worlds. He was capable of working in diverse styles, but much of his art and his own creative miniature conversions made his name synonymous with the "grimdark" aesthetic, mixing elements of moody gothic architecture and body horror with a limited color palette.

He also contributed to GW's UK edition of Dungeons & Dragons, Fighting Fantasy and Sorcery! books, and other books and album covers. Wombat Games recently published an authorised biography, Blanche: The Rise of Grimdark. A skirmish game, John Blanche's En Garde, is in development with a setting and visual style based on his art.
