You give a chuckle as you kneel down next to the troll.
"Well that’s not just a super cool name, it’s suuuuuuuuper cool! And pssh, no way your 8ees could 8eat my spiders, my spiders rock!"
You decide that this troll isn't so bad. You shake your head as she says your bees won't win. You reach into one of your deep pockets, and retrieve a barely alive bee.
"My bee's name is uhm.. Well, he doesn't have a name because those are stupid, but he can totally kick some butt."
You nod in agreement. You already like this little guy.
"Still not as cool as spiders, but hell yeah, 8ummble8ees are super super cool."
"My name is Mituna."
You decide its only polite to tell her. Your ears turn up in an attentive fashion, and you flash her a toothy grin.
"And I bet if I had all the bees, that they would win against your spiders easy."

You actually have to think about that. not much other than the number 8 strikes you as cool.
"Spiders, spiders are cool."

You ask in anticipation. She makes you wait a second, and you nod at the topic of bugs. Spiders are kind of gross, but you accept it.
"Bees are cool, but you know what's even super cooler? Bumblebees!"

Nepeta smiles at him and sits back on her heels, pointing towards a large, twisting oak atop a small hillock. It's hollow inside which provides a little shelter from winter though it was going to be a pinch when winter comes.
"In that tree! It's kinda small so I only sleep in there, I can't keep stuff in it. Where do you live, Tuna?"
Her tail flicks when she talks and her curls bob, the girl still so very happy to see her friend again.
His nose twitches, and he gives a tiny nod. That tree did seem really tiny. No sleep overs it seems. He turns his head towards the street, and points to the left. "At the restaurant down that street. I work there a lot. Is why I couldn't come over more. Didn't wanna live with Dad. And didn't want to die," you explain, your tone staying care free. "It's nice."
She squeals delightedly when he pounces her, allowing herself to be rolled into the grass and then he’s talking, so so fast that it’s difficult to catch up. Nepeta sits up and simply watches and listens to him, so happy to see her friend again. Even if he does look kind of tired. Her ears twitch as his words slow and gain an anxious tone, the troll shifting to her knees and wraps her arms tightly around him, rubbing her cheek against his.
"It’s okay, Mituna! I missed you sooooo much!!"
"I missed you the most!" you claim, and wrap your arms around her just as tight, if not tighter. You take in her scent, and swear to yourself that you will never forget it again. Letting go, you brush your nose against her cheek, and smile at her. "Where do you live?" you ask, and show of your ability to annunciate and add flow to your sentences.
She's determinedly minding her own business as he approaches, grooming her curls and face, every muscle tensed to run like she's a coiled spring. But then he says her name and she looks at him, eyes round. They get rounder still as she recognises the figure in front of her. Her tail swishes and she leans forwards a little, her pupils wide despite the bright sunshine.
"Mituna??"
"Nepurrta!" you shout, and launch yourself at her. You nuzzle against her cheek, and roll off of her. "I haven't seen you in like... forever! Ya know how long that is? So, so, so long! So fucking long that I didn't even recognize you! Ya look so much different!" you babble on. "And... And.. I'm sorry. I left. Very bad. On my part." You wording starts to slow, and it grows more nervous. She probably doesn't even want to hang out with you.
The sounds of splashing, a little while later, awake Nepeta from her light slumbrr and she sits up, still hidden by the long grass. She sits there for a while and then rolls her tongue on itself, feeling rather thirsty. Perhaps who's ever in the pond wouldn't mind her having a drink. She stands and shakes out her curls, dry grass escapin to float towards the floor, the troll heading towards the pond.
From where she stands, she can see another trol paddling in the shallows so she decides to not stay too long. She crouches at the water's edge and scoops up a handful of water with her slim hands, drinking thirstily from them before having another, the cold watee dripping onto her shirt.
Your ears prick, and your fur stands on end. Glancing over the bank you're relieved to see it- she is just about your size. You go back to pawing in the water, but your head snaps back to her. Your nose twitches violently, and you stalking closer to her. Inch by inch. You know that smell. It's a happy smell, but you can't remember where. It's probably just your imagination. No, no, it can't be.
You stop, and look at her weird. You eyes all round, and curiosity floating behind them. It smells like your friend. The one you've been searching for for god knows how long. But she's... so much different.
"Ex...cuse me? Nepurrta?" you peek, and your ears lie flat.
It was a common occurence for Nepeta to visit parks when she was out and about by herself, finding them nice places to lounge in the sun and for practising her hunting on wary birds. She'd only ever caught one and it had been a source of great pride for her, even if she'd let the bird go after. The foliage and general greenery is very good for hiding in as well, Nepeta often disappearing up at a tree at the firt sign of a human. Luckiy, she was very skinny so thin branches were never really a problem for her.
Currently, she lies on her side in the bright sunlight of a pleasant morning, half dozing in the sun. She lies comfortably in the long grass, one hand gently curled by her cheek as her wayward curls catch the breeze that passes through. She barely notices the sounds of the approaching troll though her pointed ears do twitch, tail swishing through the grass with a rustle.
You walk through the grass with easy. You enjoy how fluid every motion feels. Practices of balancing plates and cups has improved you're over all motor skills. And awareness. Your nose twitches, and you can smell another being lurking around the perimeter. A troll, a smell easy to pick out by now.
Your nose takes you in the direction of the smell, but you know better by now than to approach. Actually, why are you even heading this way at all? Stop. Turn back around, and track your way back towards the pond. Hell no, you're not going to get soaking wet, but whens the last time you actually tried your paw at swimming?
You fix the weird outfit you were placed into. You had, somehow, earned a job as busboy. Whoever ran the place probably just thought you'd be an easy pay for hard work. And it was true. After leaving your adopted father you had to work to get shit done. Can't buy bacon with sticks and stones. The lack of laws protecting trolls made you the victim of over working. And for the past three years you'd been doing so. Fuck, that's right around the time your social life just... Plummeted.
Working from six in the morning to nine at night didn't leave you a lot of time to socialize. For the first few weeks you tried to sneak away, but it only got your wages dropped and your positioned threatened. So you came to terms with it, and got most of your conversations from bitchy customers, or angry superiors. The other worker trolls avoided you. And it's not like they could talk much with muzzles on them,too. Perhaps the big black tool that hung from your mouth made you look scary. Or tamed. And that's why you often were ignored. Although, it's probably a good thing you had it there. Some customers need a true chomping, and you were always eager to start shit.
Muzzles were a requirement for all worker trolls to wear during work hours. And then taken off at the end of the day. Showers were also required on a every other day basis. These had to of been your favorite part. Even if the water was next to freezing.
But now it's a holiday, and one of your few days off. Nothing to scrub or carry today. You're still inside of the restaurant. You're allowed to live here as long as, and you quote, "don't fuck anything up." They leave the window open for you, though. And most times you don't bother to slip outside, but no one is even here so you have no plans on just staying here and doing nothing.
You hop up onto the ledge before the window, and then slip out. God, it's been ages since you've come out this way. You can only smell the other workers her. Perhaps its your upbringing that makes you only want to use doors.
Sunbeams target your eyes. Beating down into them relentlessly, and leaving your scattered brain paralyzed. You clench your eyes shut, and hop down from the window seal. The alley way where the garbage can is located is fairly lit. Tiny paw prints are etched into the soil before you. You follow their trail, and it all feels so unnatural. When's the last time you were actually outside on your own?
Digging your claws into the dirt, you pad ahead. Your fur happily invites the sun on your back. Your trots light, and no where near as cluttered as it may have been only a sweep before. Your mind words on autopilot, and you make a get away towards the nearest park. You'll stay until sunset, and then prepare for you next day of work.
