Wondering if/how Tempest is critical of the current charters and the system in general! How it's being run (especially with Tatiana at the head), affecting the city and its people, and the in-game limits on genre type...! There's a lot of fun potential in the dichotomy between being a famous musician for the sake of music (the Goolings) vs music in support of power (the charters) in my opinion :] Also her design is so sick, love that you went with a different elemental theme!

i’d say she has a combo of criticism and some irrational jealousy at play. she’d take issue with how hypocritical tatiana is for leading the city into a capitalist hellscape, but a part of her wants that admiration and ubiquity she and the charter artists have.

tempest is someone who tries to put her morals first but her unending need for attention and validation always pushes its way to the front. she criticizes tatiana’s banning of rock but is too cowardly to continue to perform as a rock artist. she writes thinkpieces on art for profit and art as a form of labor cheapening the act of creation.

but she still wants to be successful. she still worked as a producer after years of trying to leave music behind. she knows she’s playing into the system, and she tells herself that she’s doing it differently, but can’t help but want to persue traditional avenues of success. i think that in part informs her decision to get tatiana’s attention back, at least a little.

she just. doesn’t have the drive to put the political ahead of the personal, and it’s a huge blind spot she has. she ends up being as hypocritical as tatiana.

EHEHEHEH yes she was first drafted with the intent of having tatiana’s ex come back to haunt her after 30 some years of having no contact with the other members. i pictured their relationship as incredibly close and comfortable, but incredibly tumultuous. both hard headed and big personalities. they were the closest out of anyone in the goolings in my mind.
