Modified my bunny bean sprite to a full rabbit sprite styled after my Dutch bunny Lop. Pretty satisfied with it. Original sprite is 25x25, used a website to try resizing it to 100x100 to see how it would distort.

And also made a quick simple lorelai marshmallow gif. Mostly just experimenting with aseprite now that I have a proper tablet to doodle with. More serious projects to come soon.

Still alive, most of the time

So the developer of Don’t Starve, Klei Entertainment, is working on a new game called Oxygen Not Included. It is in alpha right now and already has more complexity and entertainment (plus adorable art style) than most of the games available on the market that are in full release. I am consumed by this game already and it isn’t even in beta yet. I love it. Eventually I’ll do more pixel art, I do have something I intend to do for the GF.

Been a small break from pixel art, largely because of addiction to Starbound, but also because of mood swings. Featured here are Shinobu, my GF’s solo character wearing a yukata she found online she loved. Rustfeet, my own solo character (more on him later, he’s a fickle sort). And Boston, a temporary solo character of my GF that she ended up scrapping, but I wanted to draw it anyway. All three were made in about an hour each, exclusively on my tablet, making them the first sprites on my touch screen entirely (I had done the lineart for Teic on a work computer, don’t tell anybody).

And this is Teic, my girlfriend’s Avian. I was having a rough week and it shows in how much effort I wanted to put into my work. I could have done a lot better. This tablet is nice though, I am adapting quickly to working with it’s sensitivity. Need to find a better pixeling program though I think. Graphicsgale is nice but I wanted to do a gradient for the background and it doesn’t have that capability.

So this is my Floran from Starbound, Hazael, rocking his blink exploding frost trident. Still very early into the game. Also working on a sprite for Teic, my GF’s Avian who just got her wings. Also also this is my first post from my new tablet. Been wanting a touch screen for the longest time, and been using windows 10 at work enough that it doesn’t bother me too much. Spent much of the evening uninstalling or disabling everything Microsoft thinks is essential and getting some good stuff installed and transferred over. Hoping this will keep productivity up.

So I’ve finally gotten around to playing Starbound, die hard Terraria fan, and I’ve always loved the Floran race. By far my favorite. Playing as one with my girlfriend who is an Avian. Also I’m a hardcore Borderlands fanatic so I couldn’t resist making a psycho variant of a Floran. I also drew a “War Bud” war boy from Mad Max I’ll get around to pixelating some day. Working right now on a full body sprite of my Floran Hazael.

So yeah, backgrounds? Not today. But Koglan, yeah, sure. Fantasy creature I came up with around 13. Evolved from long tailed reptilians, legs eventually developed to manipulate tools and body/tail adapted to more snake-like profile. Essentially my method of creating a Naga. The tentacles for hair I came up with a few different explanations for over the years but nothing really stuck. I just like the look. Pattern is  pitiful attempt at a sand boa pattern. I gave up after a while and just started making spots if it wasn’t obvious. could’ve gone into a lot more detail but I was running out of energy.

Burch from my pirate themed story I was working on, currently on hold. Experimenting with different eye styles, couldn’t find a good way to communicate pupils with this style however, not without making him look cross eyed or psycho. The barrel was fun to draw, wish I had made it bigger though. Eventually I have to start working on backgrounds, too.
