"don't be scared little child, you're no demon" has got to be one of the most heartbreaking lines conan's every written. yes, it's meant to be a reassuring statement to whoever the song is written to, but it reflects a devestatingly reality. so many children, literal children, grow up terrified that there's something wrong with them or that they'll go to hell just because they're queer. this line isn't hyperbole or exaggeration, it's something some kids genuinely need to be told because they believe they're doomed. and that's why the message of this song is so fucking important.
