Another Chance

Sigyn stared into the reflection of herself in the mirror, while her maid made her ready. This day felt weirdly surreal. She awoke this morning, thinking she had died and entered the after world. But she didn't.

But it wasn't a wild dream, she was been murdered by her own husband, only to been thrown back to the day she would be betrothered to him. The vanir princess arrived this evening in asgard, now getting ready for the feast to celebrate her engagement to theoric.

She knew stories about people getting another chance, to change their fate. Sigyn had to come up with a plan, quickly. Her mind had wondered of to someone particular, loki. He had asked her in the past, but she had turned him down, since he was trickster, a troublemaker. A arrogant prince. But know she had a different sight on things. He would be soon imprisoned, then dead, so she would be free within a year, a widow, free to go wherever she wanted to go.

After she was had won the fight with her maids, not to dress her up like a trophy, like her mother commanded to, she walked around the hall, filled with various people. A golden dress hugged her figure, fitting to her golden hair, long and in open waves. She grabbed a cup of sweet wine, letting her eyes wander around to watch out for the trickster, without looking to obvious, since she guessed it would intrigue him more if she was still ignorant towards him.

Sigyn tried to play the game. Even if she was never a player, more someone who watched the game from the crowd. Now she had to believe in her cleverness and the things she already knew. She knew loki was someone like her, someone who was good in watching people, noticing things others wouldnt. The blonde vanir prayed that he could grab her call for help. Even if he had asked her to marry him the last time without any signs from her... She wasn't a Risky player. She hated dancing with theoric, especially since the last memory of him was him murdering her. If loki wouldn't Play along... She had to make an escape plan. She was close of trying to find an excuse for not dancing a third dance with him, someone changed the place with theoric-none other than loki. She had to hide her chuckle, the pleasure to see theoric let go of her. Free of his touch she felt lighter to breathe. "Your highness. I thought you didn't like parties like that? You're still here?"

Loki smirked, unable to help himself when he saw her chuckling. Why couldn't he help herself? Something was very wrong with him.

"I couldn't very well leave the bride without having one dance, now could I?" He asked the question, spinning her around before he pulled her in much more closely than was appropriate. "The bride is obligated to dance with the royal family, is she not?"

He looked for Theoric, hoping to see him seething over how he held her, how his hand nestled in her waist and how her chest pressed tightly against his. He leaned close to her, whispering in her ear. "You don't want to marry him...do you?"

It was hard to play a pokerface, when he smirked like that. When she felt so utterly relieved to be free from theoric hands. She wanted to run as far from his grip as she could.

She wanted to keep her cool and shrug her shoulders, but him spinning her around and pulling her closer broke that try. Her hands grabbed his shoulders out of surprise since it happened so fast.

She felt her heart racing, as he pulled her so close, his hand on her waist and her Body pressing against his, she was surprised by the way her body reacted, her blue eyes hooked on his, not able to form an answer which sounded anything but dumb. Was he only playing with her? The last time she had thought it was arrogance, causing mischief by playing with the bride-but was it more and she was too blinded to see?

"I.. Guess so" she heart herself wording, trying to look for Sir Theoric, but she noticed loki leaning closer. Her breathing stopped for a moment, trying to not showing any reactions to his words, loosing her grib a bit.

"You say that like I have a choice to make. My parents want me to marry a man, matching for a princess." she whispered back, fixing her eyes on the wall behind Loki. She knew that they were watched, probably guessing that loki was just mischievous as always.

Loki pulled away slightly to continue the dance. He spun her and held her close, part of him daring her fiance to confront him. The other part of him doing so because it felt right.

Loki frowned. What on earth was coming over him? An idea struck him, then, the pull he felt toward her was so strong. Snd she had asked for help, had she not?

"Perhaps they would allow you to leave the arrangement if you could find another suitor...one that is more fitting." He hinted the idea, as if it were just another comment and he weren't putting himself on the line. "One whom could provide them with gold and gems...and provide you with anything within your wildest dreams."

"I think we can start whenever you are most ready my liege." He said, peeling back his shirt and showing off his lingerie as he unbuttoned his pants. "You know I like to present myself as a tribute."

Loki smirked, gently pulling his new plaything over him on the bed. "That's a good soldier," Loki purred. Loki ran his hands over the strongly built muscles of Steve Rogers and smirked to himself, pleased, before he cupped the other man's cock through the lingerie. "This is a very nice tribute indeed."

Loki woke up to beeping sounds and...pain. It was the strangest sensation, but, he could clearly feel the dull throbbing of something in his ribs...his arms.

He opened his eyes, and had to close them again, immediately, blinking against the bright florescent lights that assaulted him.

Where on earth was he?

And why did it smell like bleach?

He slowly opened his eyes, realizing that there was some kind of contraption on his face...and in his arm...and around his wrists.

By the gods! What was happening to him?

He tried to struggle against the restraints, the chains making a faint clicking sound. Where were his Asgardian leathers? Why was he wearing a gown, of all things?

And why was there nothing beneath it? He shuddered at the thought that some mortal had seen him naked.

What was the last thing he remembered? He remembered picking up the Tessaract and...

Something had hit him. One of the mortal's horseless carriages.

He, once again, tested the strength of his restraints to no avail. What in the nine realms had he gotten himself into?

Charlotte grumbled to herself as she grabbed the kit and stood back up. She walked over and sat beside him, setting the kit on the coffee table before opening it up. "You can relax, you know." She spoke to him without looking at him as she grabbed what she needed from the kit; antiseptic, some Neosporin, and liquid bandage. She opened the antiseptic and poured some onto a little cotton ball, then closed the bottle back up. With her free hand, she gently brushed his hair out of the way of the injury. "This might hurt," she warned softly before beginning to dab it against the wound.

Loki did not relax. He did not relax in an enemy's home, even if that enemy seemed to be rather...unremarkable and definitely not magical. She was just a healer. There was no way she would actually be able to do him physical harm.

Afterall, did most healers not make an oath to do no harm?

As the healer said, "This might hurt," he gritted his teeth, pleasantly surprised to find that it only mildly stung. And, after the amount of pains he was already feeling in his body, he was grateful it wasn't worse.

He should be healing much more quickly...but, with his magic gone, he couldn't help but to wonder what else was missing. Was he now a mortal? And why? What had happened? Surely being hit by their metal chariot had not knocked his magic from him!

He let the woman finish her work as she hummed to herself and cleaned and brushed the small scratches across his body. Her work was finished rather quickly, in his opinion.

He shook his head, exhausted and needing sleep. "Thank you, however, I feel that I have imposed myself upon you long enough," he said, attempting to stand and feeling his knees buckle, leading to him collapsing back onto the sofa.
