I hate hate hateddd seeing this statement.

And I just want to talk about why. The ego death of it all (not mine. mine already happened.).

For one, Zach would have never released a statement like that for trinity. I imagine he was expecting to be much more liked by the public, or at the very least his connection would be well liked by the public. Actually, I t’s not even that the ‘ayda’ part of ‘Zayda’ is necessarily disliked

She just isn’t liked more than Zach is disliked. At least not anymore. And that’s a whole other post. I hate that Kayda missed her peak.

And because of that this whole statement being released in our holy Zach’s honor just feels so deadweight of him. And what I mean by that is that he’s holding these girls back! It is their first few days out of the villa and they’ve spent it quite frankly coddling this grown man so he doesn’t have to…take accountability?

And if for no other reason then at the very least can he speak up about the way he spoke about Trinity (you can fight me on that idrc)??

Because outside of the way he spoke to trinity it’s just the content of his character that I dislike.

I don’t dislike him because he won’t call Kayda his girlfriend yet. I actually kinda get it.

I don’t dislike him because he’s all touchy with Bryce (I mean it does get to a point but generally speaking if Trinity don’t mind..whatever man).

I dislike him because he doesn’t know when to say when! He is always going. It’s like he’s doing a never ending bit that no else is really in on all the time. The weird little I love you joke thing with Kayda. The way he “joked” about pulling a bombshell mere minutes after he pulled out. Asking to kiss Bryce during the finale??

And maybe I’m reading too far into it with this one

but whenever he’s speaking out loud about Trinity and Bryce’s connection he’s never referencing Trinity. She’s seemingly an..afterthought? I do believe he’s speaking truthfully about what he sees in their connection (I mean it’s undeniable) but it just seems like his speech is “Bryce + fill in the blank.” It doesn’t seem like he acknowledges Trinity as the love of Bryce’s life?

And it is with that sentiment that I just cannot get behind that statement.

No one deserves death threats. That’s entirely too far always.

But,

Does a grown man (who knew he was being watched by millions) deserve to have a public statement released by the most followed islander specifically for him calling out his “hate” when the hate in question is just him being disliked for how he treats people?

No I don’t think he does.

Zach hasn’t even experienced real hate. I haven’t seen a single brand advocating for Kayda’s release…so

here’s what I think is really going on here.

I imagine that Zacharias is going through is an ego death and he’s reeling from newfound idea that he isn’t liked by everyone despite how hard he tried.

This has been extremely underwhelming as far as post villa content goes…I guess we asked for real people??

And real people tend to have extremely fragile egos

It is late at night and somewhere across the way, wordgirl is thinking (because she was reading) about fanfiction…

so here's the thing,

this is my second time writing this post because my original draft was lost to the aether..

but wordgirl avails

all in all, fan-fiction for me is not an entirely undiscovered world. I mean I used to be a big wattpad consumer circa 2016-17-18 when I was big on boy bands (specifically Why Don't We, PrettyMuch, etc. but lets like not talk about it??)

so when I opened the old bird app that fateful day in April and discovered that darling sunshine angel face, Supriya Ganesh, would not be returning to the Pitt

I was devastated. Obviously.

Because while I'm certain this isn't the end of their career in film and television (it won't be. not if I have anything to do with it.)

This could very easily be the end of mohabbot as we know it.

and it was with this thought that I cracked open Ao3 with the hopes of involving myself with likeminded individuals that believe in a fandoms freedom of speech

I had no idea my life would be changed. Someone take the site away from me. I feel insatiable.

But I should be honest. I struggle to get behind some, not all, concepts.

One of which being omegaverse (? idk man) but I've learned that if the plot is good enough I am more than willing to gloss over something like I didn't read it (this isn't the case with any of the recommended fics, I like these through and through)

I am already such a book worm and fanfiction has absolutely become a new secret obsession of mine.

This is Grace! Written by goldenshores. Definitely not underground by any means but I never claimed to be unique and original. I mean I feel like Grace is a given. It's a 12 chapter Mohabbot Slice of Life (mind you its the whole pie) with a very well-written sort of slow-burnish arc. You'll see what I mean if you give yourself the pleasure of reading it. Over 80,000 words, and two more fics in the series to read when you yearn for more!

This is signs of life! Unfinished but I recommend it to you and it's at a place with good resolve. LSS, Jack Abbot is an amazing single father looking for a new-live caretaker (don't worry Samira is still Dr. Mohan) for his daughter josie who is hard of hearing. And wouldn't you know it, Samira Mohan knows sign language and is great with kids...who could say no?! Everyone say thank you

This is Freudian Slips, and man oh man is it buss asf. I really don’t have the words. HotelRaleigh writes really good fanfiction, and Freudian Slips is no exception. 13,000 words set in a Grad School-Professor/Student alternate universe. And I’ll be honest AU is one of those things I mentioned earlier that I found myself kinda struggling to get into but this changed my mind, opened my eyes to new horizons if you will (and even if you won’t). It’s yummy and detailed and should be your next read.

And for a brief tangent—they have a realllllly good javadi/abbot fic; which is random—yea—but what I love most about the Pitt is that I can, will, and often do ship a little bit of everyone all the time, cause why not? Wait til I tell yall about my secret Dana Evans/Jack Abbot ship. And you don’t have to get it because I just do.

Okay, so again, I never claimed to be niche but, I mean, who am I if I don’t include this series??? It’s the “is it cheating..?” series! If you haven’t read all 14 parts, you should. I give each of the writers their flowers from afar because it’s really good and flows so well and each work has a similar voice but still certain author specific touches. I think you’d like it.

**my personal synopsis is something like: is it cheating if Jack and Samira don’t mean to hurt anyone else in the process? I hope that made sense, if it didn’t, I guess you’ll just have to read and see what I mean (awww mannnnnn). Also. HotelRaleigh is one of the writers in this series so if you liked Freudian Slips you should know I wouldn’t lead you astray.

Ooh okay so this is Proximate. It’s a WIP and I haven’t even read all the chapters available yet but I’m in the process of reading it and I like it so I figured I should include it. Basically, read to find out what happens when Jack becomes Samira’s next door neighbor! It’s a really sweet, well-placed slow burn!

And also, there's "A little sugar in my bowl, a little sweetness down in my soul". Super tea, super fun, super flirty, and if you are like me and you see images in your head when you read, this has a very pretty Nantucket/Coastal New England aesthetic. I quite liked it. Jack Abbot is so easy for Samira Mohan.

And last but not least, a PWP I quite enjoyed.

"Ain't it the life of you" is the name of the fic, and I think that's ironic because the fic did breathe life into me. It’s hot. Like real hot. But Jacks choice of words especially towards the end is I think what makes it so good! I don’t wanna spoil it, but it’s something Shawn said in press after it was announced that Dr. Mohan wouldn’t be in season 3. It’s incorporated in a cute, hot, sexy way that I quite liked reading.

This concludes my list! It's not very long because it's the wee hours of the morning! but they're my favorites and I wanted to share lol

but do note that this is just my list of highly ranked favorites but there is A LOT more where this stuff came from. I’ve got recommendations for days. and if you have recs, LEAVE EM BELOW I BEG!
