There's a fandom and a normal way of liking pieces of media and I think my preference for which should be which is the opposite of what it's like for most people.

#for example my entire dash is full of phm and it's a fine movie #but the only character with the potential for me to like her in a fandom way is stratt #on the other hand I want there to be more 'The pianist' art and fanfiction. that isn't in like chinese #and All quiet on the western front fanfiction #(preferably book or 1930 movie version)#don't get me wrong either of those getting like a big fandom would be a disaster I DO NOT like big fandoms #but give me like. something. you know?#those movies aren't unpopular btw! it's just that people who watch them do not feel compelled to do fandom stuff with them

The way the 1993 production of cabaret changed the ending is really interesting. But I still don't understand why they included the red star? Isn't the emcee being "apolitical"/complicit like the point?
