Tasuku would’ve been foolish if he said he didn’t see this coming, so it was a good thing that he had heightened his reflexes just in case Mary took the violent approach with him — which she did. Alarmed at the girl’s surprising speed, he didn’t get away in time before the knife struck him.

He winced at the very real, very sharp pain that struck in the rapidly bleeding injury, but he wasn’t going to let this phase him for longer than necessary. So he used this opportunity to swiftly grab the other’s hand and pry the knife away from her. Once that was done, he stepped away as fast as he could and ran for it before she could pursue him. He could worry about his wound later.

When the knife connected with skin, Mary let out a laugh. A laugh that was cut off when the sharp object was so rudely and suddenly yanked out of her hand. Her smirk was replaced by an expression of intense anger, burning anger. 

She stood there, momentarily dumbfounded, as the other ran away with her weapon. Then, the adrenaline began to pump in her system. The idiot left a trail of blood! So, she followed in pursuit, lagging behind, but slowly catching up.

His hand aches a lot, but oh well. He’s gone through worse.

“That may be so, but stabbing her was way too much of a stretch and you should be aware of that.” He needed to stay calm for now, even if he was getting increasingly angry and it might’ve shown in his tone. Taking a step closer to the girl and extending his hand out to grab the weapon, he said more firmly. “Hand that over right now.”

The guy seemed to be more of a nuisance than Mary thought he would be since he was going as far as to ask for her to give up her weapon. Like she would let that happen.

A devilish smirk spread across her face. "I'm not giving you anything, loser!" Her tone was no longer childishly petulant; it now held a threatening vibe, dangerous, deadly. Without warning, she took her palette knife out and lunged at the other. 

"Have fun with this!"

Oh. So she was going to be like this. Tasuku didn’t expect anything more to be honest. He pointedly ignored what she just called him.

“This is a paintball war, and something that was arranged in good fun. If you’re going to ruin it for everyone by bringing in knives I might need to take that away from you by force.”

So this loser was here to talk about that. 

"Look, loser, that weirdo insulted me first. It became way more than about paintball after that."

"H-How old are you!? Jesus Christ— I mean, w-why bother?! It’s too much e-effort and way too much pressure. That’s why I don’t play g-games like— argh— these! Everyone always get’s way too stupid!

She was well aware of the fact the object in her hand was a simple paint gun, but the usefulness of it was undeniable to her.

"Hey, loser, just join! Stop talking, just stop talking, like, shut up, and join!"

The thoughts that Mary’s onslaught would be easy to avoid, that it was as simple a leap into the safety of the branches above quickly gave way to disbelief. The younger two was in possession of superior abilities, this much was made clear; despite Sapphire’s best efforts to get away from the blonde, the knife still hit it’s mark.

Now Sapphire has had her fair share of injuries, having spent most of her life outside and around wild animals. But none of them could quite be compared to this.

Instinctively she reached up to apply pressure to the freshly inflicted wound, her other hand curling in to a tight fist as the girl felt warm rivulets pass through her fingers. Anger helped to turn Sapphire’s expression in to one of an almost animalistic fury. “Do you think you can get away with this, you brat?! I’ll rip you apart!”

Mary's frown turned into a smirk when her knife managed to meet her target. Blood was flowing out of the other girl's body, giving Mary a sense of pride and accomplishment (and perhaps a bit more bloodlust). She retracted her blade back to close proximity and admired the blood that shone on the blade.

It was so pretty how the red liquid contrasted with the silver metal.

"Ah, this reminds me of the woman in red. They were always so fun when they chased people," she mumbled to herself, ignoring the other girl's outrage. "Shall I make you a woman in red?" Her eyes shot up from her blade at her bleeding victim. "You'd make a beautiful painting."

"Y-You should fucking learn it then, nngh!” Why this? Why him? “Of course I get that b-bit, I-I’m not an i-idiot…! Argh— but wanting more p-points doesn’t mean you have to threaten people to join your team…!”

"You sure fooled me! You seem like a full blown idiot for defying a person with a gun. Anyway, threatening seems to work the best. It gets a lot of people to submit to me!"

Alright, as a cop he couldn’t just sit here idly while aware of the fact that a child was in possession of a knife. He’d start slowly. “Miss…”

“It’s probably a good idea for you to put that knife away.”

She turns to the person speaking to her.

"Huh?" She expected a valid target. "Oh, you're that failure captain right? I don't take orders from losers."

It wouldn’t be the first time that Naoto had been coated in yellow paint, and it wasn’t as though something as petty as a threat would sway her.

"I’ve made my decision, miss. I’m sure that there are others that you can recruit in my stead."

The sheer earnestness of the cool looking fellow made her falter in her pursuit. She pointed the gun away from the other and turned away petulantly. "F-fine! Have it your way, loser!"

The glint of light off of metal was easy to spot, and it was clear that Mary wouldn’t hesitate to strike. It would be an easy feat to simply take to the trees and avoid her from there.

She would want an honest answer, wouldn’t she? Because that’s exactly what she’ll get. “I think I feel a bit bad for the yellow team, because they have to put up with you.”

That statement really pushed her over the edge. Her eyes narrowed, and she let out a growl, tears of anger forming at her eyes.

"Shut up!" And she lunged at the older girl with incredible speed and vitality. No matter what, she decided, she would not let up until this girl was on the ground bleeding.
