Namjoon One-Shot
Group: BTS
Genre: Fluff
A/N: I made this imagine a year ago as a request on Instagram. This imagine is for those who are stressed about their final exams coming up and those who were stressed and are still recovering from them. Hope you enjoy.
Stress. If you could describe this feeling it would be like the devil himself decided to make you his own personal assistant. It was getting closer to the end of the semester, which can only mean one thing: Finals. All you could think of was ‘Why do all of my teachers think I can handle all these hard classes? I’m not even that smart.’
You wish it could be always simple for yourself. To wake up in the morning and not feel tired. To pay attention in class and understand it completely. To do homework in less than hour. It was always the complete opposite than what you want. Relentless coffee refills, confusion every time you breathe, and endless hours of studying. Why can’t you just be like your boyfriend? Simply read a sentence and understand it. Pay attention in class and can recite it the next day. Wake up and be ready to function in less than 5 minutes. Why can’t you be like that?
Instead of going to your house after school, you insisted you went to Namjoon’s because you would go straight to bed if not. He knows how to keep you motivated, he can help you when you need it most, and he can make a mean cup of coffee. But most importantly, he knows when you need to stop and rest because he doesn’t want you to over work yourself.
“Namjoon.........” you whined dragging about his name as much as possible to express your frustration. He has been trying to explain this math problem to you for at least a minute and a half and that was a minute and a half too long.
“Look all you have to do is multiply everything by 3 on both sides and then divide by 9 to find x,” he calmly explained even though you were being impatient with math. You always hated math. You never comprehended the concept of memorizing formulas or multiplying everything in order to cancel out fractions. Oh god, fractions, your worst enemy.
“How do you even know what that times 3 is? I thought this was supposed to be the ‘non-calculator’ section,” you nagged about having to do math in your head.
“If you can’t figure out what 12x3 is, then we are going to have a problem,” he sighed and looked away for a second. “God, it’s already 5. We’ve been going at it for 2 hours maybe we should move on to another sub-“ he couldn’t even get out another word without hearing you sob in your own hands. He immediately turned to you and started to pull you into his embrace, trying to shush you into oblivion.
“I’m sorry I’m so stupid. I’m sorry I can’t do things like you. You’re too smart for my slow working slush I call my brain,” you cried into his chest probably soaking his shirt instantly.
“Hey, hey, you’re not stupid. You just don’t understand things as fast and that’s okay. What about we take a break and watch a movie? Your finals aren’t until next week. We’ll study math another day. How about we watch that movie you’ve been trying to get me to watch with you? Would you like that?” Namjoon attempting to make you feel better was always funny to you. He would always try to pet your hair but it would always mess it up. He would also awkwardly rub your right arm with his right arm from behind your body. Once you started giggling, he knew his comedic comforting was working.
“I would love that, anything to get me away from the devil’s work,” you joked which led to a wild cackle from Namjoon’s side. Namjoon let you go for a second to grab the tv remote and pulled you onto his chest. Finals may be the most stressful thing, but it leads to the most comforting cuddles with your boyfriend.
