a piece of advice my dad gave me and I’ve never forgotten is, “if you won’t worry about it in 4 months, don’t worry about it now.” saved me countless times, it’s a philosophy to adopt and help improve your life. Failed a test? ask yourself if you’ll think about this still in 4 months? Made a fool of yourself in public? I doubt even the people who saw it will remember it past today. Know you could have done better? Ran further? don’t beat yourself up over it, you can do better tomorrow. Don’t overthink things, a lot of negatives matter less than you think they do.

Tony trying desperately to talk Quill down. He’s only known this man for hours, not particularly been a fan, but he knows this rage all too well. He burned men alive after losing Yinsen, blew up Killian for threatening Pepper (not his fault it didn’t take), and tried to kill Bucky to avenge his parents, putting him in near-lethal combat with Steve. Tony knows all about losing it in the clutch, so his noble attempt to keep Quill from the same is devastating in its failure. One thing that adds to this, is the fact that this isn’t the first time Tony has had to beg someone to ‘stick to the plan’. However, unlike Yinsen, who paid for it with his own life, Quill was going to pay for it with not just his own life, but trillions more. (x)
