Today is the day

when we talk about Izuna and his huge role that nobody seems to talk about.

The main takes in the fandom are that Izuna was led by Madara /he's a smaller version of Madara. But that is simply not true, and canon itself shows it.

Only Madara’s Susanoo is a Siamese twin (which appeared after Izuna’s death).

Only Madara’s Eternal Mangekyō is a combination of his own pattern with Izuna’s pattern

Sasuke and Itachi had nothing like that

Only Izuna could have influenced Madara’s feelings toward Hashirama, and that is exactly what he did, manipulating him until the very end.

The face of a mortally wounded man when you realize the Senju are about to get no pact with your bro:

And it’s also worth adding that Madara was a much better brother than Tobirama: Madara despised Edo Tensei and did everything he could to make sure Izuna would never have to go through that humiliation. Meanwhile, Hashirama’s cells were being passed around by practically everyone... another little detail for Tobirama’s portrait.

And, in general, the idea of merging with Hashirama literally on a physical level came to Madara because he had already had that kind of experience with Izuna. If his initial Susanoo form is a Siamese twin, then the final stabilized form is already a single warrior. The perfect merging as it is.

Canon reveals everything if you just open your eyes.

The fact that Izuna didn’t even consider Tobirama worthy of his Mangekyō... Because by the time Izuna died, Madara was almost blind from constantly using his against Hashirama (with little to no success T_T), while Izuna barely even used his regular Sharingan against Tobirama. My arrogant prodigy <3
