Reading a fic that hasn't been britpicked is usually fine, but sometimes it feels like being slapped in the face with a dead salmon. Takes me completely out of it.

I liked the stranger things finale and I think it played well into what I think is one of the main themes of the entire show - "the place you think is safe is very much not and you are about to find out in the worst way possible"

Vecna thinks he is safe in dimension x, he is not; vecna thinks he is safe in the mindflayer, he is not; the party and associates think getting back to hawkins makes them safe, they are not.

It even tricks the audience when the main conflict concludes with about an hour left, because you think it's safe to assume that something will still go wrong, but it doesn't.

I also think most of the epilogue was needed to put the characters to rest, even though I wish we got to see more from El as a character

(I would also like to note that even though the dialogue was a bit hamfisted, I too was once an angsty little queer teenager who came out to their entire extended friend group through the use of homemade asexual glases, so I do relate to wills coming out at least a bit)
