Hey guys. I made this video For Those Considering Suicide. Recently, one of my best friends sent me a suicide message.
⚫ UPDATE July 5th: Before anything else, I’d like to clarify that Today, she told me she was okay. She lives very far away from me so, I’ve no other way on how to contact her personally as Social Media is our only form of communication. As of today, I’ll give her some space but check in from time to time to make sure she’s okay.
This was before she sent me a message:
As stated before, one of my best friends sent me a Suicide message. At first I didn’t know how to react and acted automatically by calling her. Out of many paragraphs, it only took me one sentence for me to know what was going to happen if I didn’t act fast. I contacted her other friends and some family members she had on her social media. I called her many times, no answer. I tried calling her family but, no answer. I messaged her, no answer. While I was texting her and trying to contact anyone near her, I contacted the US Suicide Hotline and honestly, the dude was super resourceful. He told me what I could do with the information that I had; Which I’m very grateful. He then referred me to the UK Samaritans and honestly, I DONT know whether they cared (most likely didn’t) or if the dude that answered was tired but the guy was literally NOT useful AT ALL. He took his slow-ass time talking, as if he was reciting from a fucking manual. I’m still so pissed off. He CLEARLY did NOT give a damn whether my friend was well or not. Here I am panicking about the safety of my friend and there he was with all of his patience in it’s purest of forms. The call was hung-up because he was not useful and honestly, all I can say is that I did all I could. I contacted everybody near her, I posted on social media asking for anyone who knew her to act fast, I called & messaged her and called the hotlines. I admit that maybe I was wrong but, I don’t care. It was a matter of her own life or death and I was not going to give a single dollop because I would rather have my friend alive than dead. As I’m writing this, I’m still shaken by what happened and by what may happen. I’m at a lost of words so, I’m going to end this here. Thank you for reading & watching.
If you know anybody who may be going through suicidal thoughts, I advise you to NOT stay quiet. Speak up! Call hotlines. Contact whomever you think will help ESPECIALLY family members.
If you are going through a very difficult time, I HIGHLY advise you to please speak up. DON’T stay quiet. Talk to anyone whom you feel will listen and if you feel like nobody’s listening GET PROFESSIONAL HELP. Call the suicide Hotlines! You being alive is worth more than anything because YOU ARE WORTH IT. It WILL get better or it MAY get better, you just have to be here long enough to find out. Stay positive!
