An Object At Rest By Seth Boyden, Oscar Short Submission

Seth Boyden made this short animated film for his final thesis film at Cal Arts. Now it’s on the short list for the Oscar nomination. I find this short extremely enjoyable. Great design, great animation. And it’s awesome to be able to see the full short online.

An Object at Rest follows the life of a stone as it travels over the course of millennia, facing nature’s greatest obstacle: human civilization.

An Object At Rest is one of several short films up for the Animated Short category at the 88th Academy Awards which will be held on Sunday, February 28, 2016, at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood. See the full list of shorts submitted for the Oscar here.
