( avan jogia, cis male, he/him ) i just saw bellamy sharpe walking down the cobbled roads of skopelos the other day playing sweet talk by saint motel out loud. arenât they supposed to be in london ? rumor has it that the twenty-nine year old is + gregarious, but can also be - complacent â overall theyâre the himbo. they remind me of a wall of past trophies, googling "define (super basic word)", winking at the mirror.
bellamy sharpe (bell or bs for short) - skopelosâ resident himbo. golden retriever personified. heâs what you would get if nick miller, joey tribbiani, and jason mendoza have a child together and raised him with a ton of sugar.
the sweetest boy youâll ever meet but also the most annoying. every other thing that comes out of his mouth is a joke... and theyâre bad. he thinks dad jokes and puns are the pinnacle of humor.
currently works as the coo of broadmoor realty. how did he get the job, you wonder? well, good olâ nepostism, of course. officially, heâs in skopelos to learn more about the hotel business before the company finalizes their decision to expand into the industry. unofficially? he needs a break.
in college, he was one of those annoying people who partied way too much yet his grades were always on top. his secret, you ask? he studied. like, non-stop. between his vodka shots and when he was hangover. he didnât like to advertise it because studyingâs boring. he much rather focus on his more interesting parts - namely, his face.
speaking of his face - itâs pretty clear early on that bell is gifted with a pretty face... and he knows it very well. in fact, itâs probably the only thing he could be proud of himself. which is honestly kind of sad but we donât talk about that
the epitome of head empty, no thoughts. him staring at a distance? thatâs not him brooding, god no. thatâs him thinking of how cool the trees are and humming a song in his head. you ever wonder whatâs going on in his mind at any given moment? probably nothing, to be honest. he refuses to use his mind outside of working situations, thank you very much.
has a cat that he loves with all of his heart (and he brought her with him to skopelos too!) named angel, because to him, sheâs an angel. in truth, sheâs probably closer to the devil. her hobbies are: biting, hissing, staring at people like theyâre her lifelong nemesis, and scratching anyone who dares to try to touch her. sheâs cute, though.
likes to flirt, especially with women who looks like they could (and would) kick his ass. he has the tendency to go for women whoâs out of his league and would crush him with the bottom of their shoe without hesitation. would LOVE to be a malewife.Â
canât be subtle to save his life. the worst liar ever. would genuinely cry if he ever has to punch someone. forgives easily and is a very optimistic person overall. he could be trapped in the middle of the ocean a la life of pi and heâd still smile at the pretty sunrise.
When Sawyer left Las Vegas, it was 100 degrees â in good olâ Fahrenheit â in the shade. The moment they stepped out of the plane in Greece, it felt like waking up after a long nap. And after growing up in the desert, there was nothing else in the world like being on an island; surrounded by the ocean. It didnât matter that this was hardly the first time their wanderlust had brought them oceanside. For once in their life, something actually had their undivided attention.
the voice in their ear had Sawyer leaping out of their skin like a beloved late night horror movie jumpscare. But when they spun around to look at the perpetrator, it took a whole half second for them to recognize exactly who it was. âBells! You fucker!â they swore, throwing their arms around his neck as best they could while dodging all of their friendâs belongings. âIf you think Iâm not getting you back for this later, good. Youâll expect it even less,â they teased when they pulled away.
âAnd who the heck is this little guy?â they asked, leaning down to get a peek at their brand new furry friend and rub its little cheek. Clearly, there was no way they were leaving the island without becoming best friends with it.
He laughs into their hug, reciprocating it as best as he can, utterly pleased with Sawyer's reaction. "Saw-ry?" He scrunches his nose as he tries the word out. "Sawwy? ... Hmm, that's not right either. Sawyer-y?" Now that's just terrible. He cringes. Maybe he's getting old. No, no, that can't be it. Must be the jet lag.
He looks down just as they rub Angel's cheek, warning shots firing in his head. Too late, though - the furry little ball of anger and cuteness bites down on his friend's finger. Hard. She hisses, looking as though a rub on her cheek has disgraced her dignity.
He coughs a little. "She... uh. Her name's Angel," the cat hisses at the sound of her name. He shrugs his shoulders. "She's a bit shy," he says.
she was pretty organized for being a chaotic mess, but it was probably because she was insanely excited for her future days on the greek island. she could barely sleep the night before the flight, her mind racing through all the activities and places she was going to visit. she had spent the night prior making an organized excel sheet of everything she wanted to do and she did not waste time getting to it.
after dropping off her bags and refreshing after the flight, susie made her way out to the town. she stood in front of the coffee shop, hoping to grab a little treat before wandering around town. she stood there, her hands on her hips, studying the menu. with all her focus on the words, she failed to realize someone sneaking up behind her. â shit ! â, she exclaimed , a bit too loud since it caught some attention from the villagers. susie gave them an apologetic smile while turning around to find bellamy standing behind her. â look at you ! â, susieâs embarrassment immediately subdued. she pulled the other in for an uncomfortable hug, not minding the bags. â you look so good ! god itâs been so long. iâm glad youâre not wearing those t-shirts anymore. â, she pulled slightly at his shirt.
Is it bad to say that heâs glad Susie is⌠uglier now? He had the hugest crush on her - which is embarrassing and painful considering that they were roommates and she was⌠well, she was anything but neat. She used to look like a beautiful goddess in his eyes, and now with the crush banished from his heart, she looked - pretty. Just pretty. He laughs into the hug, as uncomfortable as it was, high with relief and giddiness. And annoyance. âExcuse you, Susie Heartless. Half of those shirts were from you!â And they were all stupid, too. His favorite was one with a goat and a llama grinning maniacally with a âBaa-llamy!â written on it. Not that heâs going to tell her that.
He looks at her, memorizing the lines on her face. Itâs been so long. Too long. He missed her like hell, and though he no longer thinks sheâs Aphrodite incarnate, the sight of her still fills her with warmth. He drops his bags to the ground - Angel meows offendedly from her carrier - and brings her again into his arms. âCâmere, you.â He laughs, hugging her tight, lifting her slightly off the ground.
Grant was sitting by the pool, his feet in the water. He kicked it around lightly, enjoying some quiet for a bit before being around the big group of friends he had grown to love throughout his years at university. He was trying to get in his head that was was going to be a bit weird, not only because he was sober, but because it had been a while since he saw half of them. He had to prepare for how much they had changed too.Â
Grant leaned against his hands just as he heard a noise. He turned to his right to see the other. It wasnât too early, but definitely earlier that most people wake up. Grant meant to leave soon to unpack some. âHey, I didnât think anyone else would be up this early,â he said.Â
Bellamy blinked for a second, a little startled at seeing Grant. To be honest, he was still half-asleep when he walked to the pool - his feet dragging him to the place that used to feel pretty much like a second home. He doesnât swim much anymore these days. Still, it felt like an instinct to go there and let his legs into the water. He turned to his old friend, lips curling into a smile like another instinct. âWell, you know what they say about those worms,â he said. âThey sure like to wake up early.â
He squinted at the water, mind still hazy from sleep and jetlag, wondering if murky green was the trend with pool water these days. Maybe thatâs... a thing here? Some kind of hotel culture he wasnât aware of? Or maybe - âWait... Whenâs the last time they cleaned this pool, you think?â
Greece is as beautiful as he had expected it to be. And hot, too. So fucking _hot. _He used to be used to this kind of weather, back when he lived in California before college, but a decade spent in dull, rainy London clearly made an impact to his body. He looks up to the sky, squinting as the sun hits his eyes, barely protecting them with his arm. He groans.
âBloody hell,â he mutters. âForgot how annoying that can be.â
Still, the sunlight feels good on his skin. It feels right. He feels warm and hopeful and happy. The realization hits him then - heâs here. In _Skopelos. _No more paperwork and meetings with clients and dinners with the companyâs investors and - God, he doesnât even need to wear a tie anymore. For at least a few months, anyway. He grins. This is shaping to be the best time of his life.
And then he spots it - one of his friends, standing with their back turned on him. His grin turns mischievous as he quietly walks up to them - as quiet as he can while carrying his bags and his cat anyway - and shouts into their ear, âBoo!â
