parkersisms:
parker’s eyebrows raised with every second of the interaction. these women were everything that would you imagine in a small town. they were about to bust out the welcome wagon before bexley smoothly intervened, steering them away from the conversation and back into the crowd. “c’mon, it wasn’t that bad.” his gaze dropped down to her features, a laugh slipping from his lips at her expression. “okay, it was. but you have nothing to worry about with the stepford wives of north carolina. i much prefer my own.” his words were teasing and he punctuated them with a kiss to her hair, his fingers squeezing in her own. “okay. show me what i’ve been missing all these months.”
Bex wanted to grumble, to make a show of the fact that Parker was her’s. Whether he was Allison’s husband or her boyfriend, Parker was hers and there was not a chance in hell she was going to accept the fact that the women were plotting or even had the idea they had a chance with him. But the way he pressed a kiss to her head and drew her close easily ended her annoyance. Blue eyes landed on him, thankful that he was finally here with her and that they finally had a chance to really love one another. “I’m not a stepford wife”, she mumbled, resisting the smile that spread against her features. Her fingers wove through his once more, leading him out of their little crook of the neighborhood and out onto the main road. The road had been shut down for the farmers market, leaving the road bustling with people and vendors of all kind of produce. “We need a few things for the house and this place has the best fruits and veggies. Then there’s the best little ice cream shop just down the way”, she listed off, pointing out the buildings that meant most to her. “And that’s my studio right there. But I also have this little cove on the water that hardly anyone visits, very private for a night swim. If you ever get bored of our pool that is.”
