I wish I could do this
Vegan Outing
Itās been a while (not that I think anyone is actually checking my often but whatever). Iāve been continuing my transition to Veganism with several hiccups here and there. Iāve been vegetarian for 9 months which is cool but I feel like I havenāt achieved much yet because Iām not fully vegan. Today I dragged my ass out of bed early and went to the New England Vegfest which was about an hour from where I live. IT WAS AMAZING!! I ate all the samples!! There was a vegan vietnamese place with theseĀ ābeefā teriyaki skewers to die for!!!! The only thing I didnāt really get to eat was dessert. There was one really popular place but the line literally wrapped around the entire place and Iām not about that waiting life. I also got to sit in on a discussion with the Bite Sized Vegan which was pretty cool too.Ā

How to be Vegan while out
so ive been screwing up a lot lately but have recommitted myself to eating plant based (with the intention of becoming fully ethically vegan). I meal prepped for a week and have been feeling really good. So i started a new job and today we had a bonding event at a waffle restaurant for breakfast. It kind of sucked because I wanted to follow my prep meal for the day, but I also didnāt want to look like an anti-social ass. Arggg what to do?
Had a super shitty month. Like I donāt even want to think of how far I reverted back. But anyway, new month new start. Hoping for a more productive April.Ā
āMost people actually donāt know that I am a classically trained ballet dancer. From Swan Lake to the Nutcracker and Carmen, you name it Iāve done it. I love ballet and started dancing when I was four. After graduating from the Instituto de Cultura y Arte I then joined the only classical ballet company in the Dominican Republic, the Ballet Nacional Dominicano, where I was the youngest soloist at the time. While I was there I was a dance teacher but I was also still dancing, going to college and doing a lot of musicals and theatre. I was very dedicated and involved.Ā
When I was younger I was about 100 pounds until I came to [the United States]. Iām about 140 pounds now and itās everywhereā my legs, my butt, everywhere. I used to hate my legs and wanted to slim them down for years because as a dancer I was scrutinized about how big they were and I really hated it. I stopped fighting it when I went to Brazil and saw all these beautiful women with gorgeous thick legs. In that moment I realized you need to love who you are and work with what youāve got. Youāve just got to find what you love about yourself and go with it and thatās what Iām doing. My legs are definitely my signature now.
Music videos and modeling was never something I was looking to do. But once the opportunity presented itself and people were paying me to party and things Iād probably be doing anyway, I was like, āWhy not?ā In the back of my mind I was looking for this moment where I could transition into the things I truly had a passion for. Although I had no problem doing the music videos and photo-shoots that was not my passion. It just happened to be something I ended up doing.Ā
Iāve always had a passion for fitness as well as dance, which go hand in hand. Iāve also always been very athletic, definitely more when I was a dancer because the training was a lot harder than what I do now. My approach [as a personal trainer] is totally different from a lot of people who are more motivational and inspirational. I keep it real like, āGirl you want to lose some weight? Letās do it.ā All that sadness isnāt needed, you know. We all have a story. I personally battled with bulimia and anorexia, but I barely mention that because I donāt want my brand to be such a sad thing. I want my brand to be fun, energetic, and healthy.ā

Ok I have no idea when this caption was added but Iām so glad it was.
This morning's breakfast: tofu scramble with a side of strawberries and blueberries
For lunch I had some falafel with onion tomato pita bread and tahini. Made the falafel from a box mix and baked instead of deep frying it. It wasn't too and just kind of dry due to the baking I think.
Body Diversity (ft. Marquita Pring, Ashley Graham, Julie Henderson)
just burned myself taking a tray of falafel out of the oven. it better taste good because im in pain right now because of itĀ
New obsession. More nice cream, frozen bananas and mixed berries topped with strawberries and blueberries. Can never eat it fast enough before it melts!
Cruelty free makeup?
As Ive mentioned before Iām planning to (over time) Ā transition from plant based to vegan. Part of that transition means finding makeup products to replace my current ones. I RARELY wear makeup but when I do I want it to match. However, my fear is that as a Black woman I wonāt be able to find many things that match my complexion. Since most brands including non-vegan brands only have 5 shades of beige. Any POC vegans (or others with helpful hints) have suggestions?
