Day 10: Attis

Attis is the god of vegetation.

His parents-ish are Agdistis, a daemon, and Nana, the daughter of a river god.

Attis’s birth and death cycle represents the agricultural cycle.

Day 9: Atlas

Atlas is a titan who has to bear the weight of the heavens on his shoulders, as a punishment by Zeus for leading the Titans to war against the Olympians for control of the heavens.

He is the son of Iapetus and Clymene, and he is the brother to Epithemus, Menoetius, and Prometheus. Atlas is the father of the Pleiades and the Hesperides.

Day 8: Asclepius

God of doctors, healing, and medicine. He knew more about healing than Apollo and Chiron, and could even bring back the dead. (This annoyed Hades to no end) Asclepius was born a mortal.

Son of Apollo and either princess Coronis or princess Arsinoe. He was married to the goddess Epione, and they had 5 daughters and 3 sons. one of their daughters was Hygea, the goddess of health and cleanliness.

Asclepius’s symbol is the Caduceus wand.

Day 7: Aristaeus

A rustic god of useful arts, including, but not limited to, bee-keeping, cheese-making, hunting, herding, and olive-growing. Also known as “the pastoral Apollo”

Son of Apollo and Cyrene

Day 6: Ares

God of war, the more violent side of war (as opposed to Athena, who represents something closer to military strategy), one of the twelve Olympian gods. Ares was not very popular among men or immortals. Generally described as a coward.

Son of Hera and Zeus; both of them disliked him. Lover of Aphrodite (Hephaestus hated him all the more for this, seeing as he was Aphrodite’s husband); Eros and Harmonia were their children. He was also the father of the Amazons, their mother was Harmony, a nymph. Brother to Eris, and Hebe.

Represented by the vulture.

Day 5: Apollo

Olympian god of the sun, light, music, art, poetry, plague, medicine, prophecy/oracles, archery, and knowledge. He was also the leader of the nine Muses. He played the lyre, which was made by Hermes.

Son of Zeus and Leto, twin brother of Artemis, father of Asclepius, and he also had a lot of other children.

Associated with dolphins, swans, and laurel trees.

Alastor is the god of justice, and blood feuds, among other argument based concepts. He is commonly associated with the goddess Nemesis, and the god Zeus.

Aether (alt. Aither) is the primordial god of light. He is the area between Earth’s air, Chaos’ domain, and the sky, and he surrounds the moon, stars, clouds, sun, and the tops of mountains.. His is the husband and brother of Hemera, and his parentage varies in different stories.

Aeolus is the god of the winds, and is also referred to as “the keeper of the winds” in Odyssey. He is the son of Hippotes, a mortal, and Aeolus was the king of Aeolia.
