November 9th, Day 1: Protective Instinct/Not So Different
Renji and Byakuya are both protective people, and at first glance, they seem to be completely different. Yet they are quite similar to one another in many different ways. In your own way, try and showcase how similar these two are to one another, and showcase their own protective instincts towards each other as well.
November 10th, Day 2: Passion/Pretty Hair
We all know that Renji is a very passionate person, but so is Byakuya, albeit more subdued. Not to mention, they both have the prettiest hair among the Shinigami. So try and highlight something not just about their pretty hair, but also about their passionate nature!
November 11th, Day 3: Domestic Bliss/Snow Fall
Since winter is on its way, it’ll be the perfect time to show some domestic, idyllic happiness between these two. Whether it’s staying in the warmth while admiring the silent snow fall, a lovers’ stroll among the snowy landscape, or getting caught outside in the snow, let’s show some quiet, tender moments between these two among the snow.
November 12th, Day 4: Squad Six/Sakura Flowers
As Captain and Lieutenant of Squad Six, Renji and Byakuya definitely have a unique bond not just as lovers but as superior and subordinate as well. And the sakura flowers are just as significant for these two. Therefore, let’s highlight something about the sakura and their duties as the Captain and Lieutenant of the Division of Noble Reason.
November 13th, Day 5: Mutual Pining/Angst
It’s no secret that Byakuya and Renji together are a magnet for angst and sadness, especially when you consider their history and issues between them. But instead of unrequited love on one side, let’s have them pining and longing for one another. Whether you want to do pure angst or angst with a happy ending is up to you!
November 14th, Day 6: Winter Romance/The Distance Between Us
Another winter theme is here! Winter is a very beautiful and romantic season, no matter the couple. But in addition to romance, there is also a distance between Byakuya and Renji, not only through their rank but through class. But surely they can work around the distance and have a winter romance, right? So try and capture something beautiful in a winter romance, as well as the distance between the two, shall we? Whether it’s a star-crossed love or the sheer class difference, highlight something about this distance between Byakuya and Renji.
November 15th, Day 7: Alternate Universe
Fantasy? Historical? No matter the universe, now’s your chance to recreate Renji and Byakuya’s bond and relationship in a different world and see how it plays out! Whether their roles are reversed in a Canon Divergence, samurai in a Historical AU, humans in a modern AU, or supernatural creatures in a Fantasy AU, let’s challenge ourselves and see how many AUs Renji and Byakuya can be in!
November 16th, Day 8: Spring Time/The Monkey and the Moon
For the last day, we’re going to explore two very significant themes. Spring is the season of hope and renewal, so here’s your chance to see how Renji and Byakuya’s love will blossom with a spring motif. In addition, try and work in Byakuya’s infamous speech about the Monkey and the Moon, the one he gave to a battered, broken Renji. Whether you want to make it angsty or hopeful is all up to you, of course!
