I don't quiet understand the terms IR said 'Ychwach would comeback and kill Ichigo in the happiest moment of Ichigo's life' and assuming it's when Ichigo and Rukia meet again because Ychwach appeared in the manga panel when Rukia and Renji came to visit them in Karakura Town. Is that assumption true? Since Ychwach wasn't fulfilled his goal to kill Ichigo when he married Orihime, or when Kazui born.

It isn't about Ichigo seeing Rukia again being his "happiest moment." In Yhwach's speech, he's speaking to all of them as a group, not just Ichigo. He says, "I shall leave this gate open for all of you, if any of you do choose to pass through...and I shall find that one moment in the future where each of you feels the greatest amount of joy and happiness." (Link) (Link) It was about all of them, in a moment when they were happily together and reunited in the epilogue.

But I think people also forget the logistics of it. Kubo said he always planned for the final chapter to end with Ichigo's son meeting Rukia's daughter. So, if the final chapter had Yhwach reappearing at Ichigo and Orihime's wedding, Kazui wouldn't have been born yet. If he reappeared the day Kazui was born, he would have been an infant and therefore too young to actually meet Ichika (or for the readers to really "meet" him and gain an understanding of his looks/personality). It was necessary for the final chapter to be enough years ahead in time to really catch up with the main cast in an epilogue fashion and give them all that "greatest joy" moment, and for Ichika and Kazui to be old enough to meet (and for the audience to meet them, as well).

Yhwach first came back around Ukitake's grave in chapter 685 even before Rukia's captain promotion ceremony, tell them to explain that lol.

Also, Yhwach promised the people who would cross the portal to find the moment where they feel the most happiness and kills them there, the people who crossed are Renji and Ichigo, when Yhwach came back he was nowhere near Ichigo and Renji, he appeared in front of Ichigo's son Kazui and not in the living room where Ichigo and Renji were located, Yhwach was going after Kazui, so tell them to explain that too.

I know some of them really struggle with reading comprehension, so we have to spoonfeed them information or else they drown in headcanons and fanfictions like they always do. I mean how can someone ignore the fact that Yhwach came back in chapter 685 around Ukitake's grave first even before Rukia's captain promotion ceremony and the whole Chad watch party thing, and why do they act like Yhwach was about to kill Ichigo at his happiest moment meanwhile Yhwach appeared in front of Ichigo's son and not around Ichigo, clearly going for Kazui and not Ichigo. lol

Hello. That anon is talking about another part of the interview, where he was asked if they would get together and he just said I’m not going to confirm or deny that and then laughs. I don’t remember if this came before or after the platonic statement.

From googling, it looks as if IR shippers claim that Kubo said that in a shonen jump interview, not the FtB interview. But again, all I can find is the same quote copy and pasted on IR forums and fansites without any legitimate source?

Wasn't this question a part of the "leftover" questions that the IRs claimed Kubo answered in the 2008 American SJ interview and they said that they will provide the scans for them but they never did? It's been 14 years now and the scans never appeared, lol.

Anyways, let's give them the benefit of the doubt again and say that Tite Kubo in his one and only visit to the US, was asked that question by the "American SJ reporter" (are you planning on making Ichigo and Rukia a couple), like what kind of question is that, and what do you expect the author to answer? Are you expecting him to tell you, Yes I'm going to do that, or No I'm not going to do that? He was asked about the nature of their relationship and he said it's not romance, is that not enough for you? You want him to share with you what he's planning to do or not in his story? Imagine walking up to the author and asking him, are you going to kill Kenpachi? Are you going to make Ichigo and Orihime a couple? Are you going to give Tatsuki powers? Are you going to give the main cast kids? How old was this reporter lol? Imagine the entitlement, imagine expecting the author to give you a clear answer to such questions about his story, imagine expecting the author to share with you what he's planning to do in his story, like who are you? One of his editors or a member of his staff? Of course he will say that he won't confirm or deny anything, like what else did you expect the author to say? Share with you this epilogue related type of information? Stop for a moment and think about it people lol. Instead of asking him such childish questions, try to learn the concept of connecting the dots and stop wanting to be spoon fed information, he tells you explicitly it's not romance, an 2006 radio show where Morita said that Kubo told him Orihime is the heroine, 2001 pilot chapter with obvious hints that Orihime is the love interest, Kubo talking about the first Orihime design and mentioning again her heroine status, not to mention all the hints written in the manga, connect the dots and stop bothering the author lol, but of course, like usual, let's ignore all of that and let's build this hope that we might be right just because the author did the right thing and avoided sharing what he's planning to do in his story with the reporter on this sourceless, scanless interview shared on IR forums.

And a word of advice to the new fans, everything that the IRs claim must be double checked, never forget the "Death saves the strawberry" novel incident on the deathberry forum, never forget the rumors spread and the mistranslations, always double check.

Yo! I’m a new-ish fan of Bleach & I’m wondering how come IR fans keep using that one manga page where Ichigo & Rukia are looking at each other fondly before departing as “proof” of their ship being “canon” before the ending? They make such a big deal about the way Ichigo looks at Rukia & claim that he never looked at anyone as softly as he did to her even though he gave Orihime that same look when she cried over him after the battle in Soul Society ended. Where did that page even come from?

hi! I'm not sure if you mean the page where they say goodbye to each other at the end of SS arc before Ichigo returns to Karakura, or after Ichigo defeats Aizen and then Rukia disappears right before his eyes as his powers fade. I'm going to assume it's the second one because that's the page I tend to see them use the most? It's definitely an emotion-filled look shared between them, but when you take into the context that Ichigo was losing his powers, and that they literally thought they'd never see each other again (at least, not until he died of old age and carried over to SS or something), then it makes perfect sense why they're looking at each other like that. You don't have to feel romantic love toward someone to feel sad and hurt by that kind of loss of such a close nakama.

It never ceases to amaze me how some people keep insisting on ignoring the context and want to turn a really sad scene about Ichigo losing his powers forever and saying his final goodbye to his Nakama into romance.

Basically, let me speedread the story, ignore the context of the scenes, ignore certain interactions and take others out of context, add some headcanons as the cherry on top, completly misunderstands the characters and the story then fight the author and call him every name in the book because I was delusional and failed to understand what he was trying to convey. (Doesn't help their case too that the author explicitly said back in 2008 that their relationship is not romance, you would think that after such statement they'll do some rethinking, but no, let's ignore that too).

Day 12: Ichigo’s resolve fights! Orihime’s will protects!

There's one question that hanging in my mind. If Ichigo and Orihime were liking each other from the start, why didn't they tell their feeling as soon as everything's going better? I mean, it's like Ichigo was convinced to confess to her after Renji encouraged him to. Also Orihime, it's likely she tend to hide her feeling and would never really tell Ichigo, especially the night before her departure to Hueco Mundo. Were they unconfidence to admit their feelings? Or they didn't really that into a relationship?

Well, it was made clear in WDKALY that Ichigo had been harbouring feelings for Orihime and pining after her for a long time but was obviously very nervous about approaching her, so that took some time for him to pluck up the courage (with a helpful nudge from Renji). Kubo also said something to the effect of waiting until Ichigo and Orihime were adults before pairing them up in a romantic relationship, which is typical for a shounen. But logistically speaking, I think Kubo's goal for WDKALY was to do two things: 1) to expand on the events that happened in the years between the war and the final chapter and 2) to show how the two couples came to be married with kids. If the novel took place immediately or very shortly after the war and Ichigo and Orihime got together then (as well as the RenRuki wedding), we wouldn't have gotten to see what happened in the years after the war before 686. In a sense, it would have been "too soon" after the war for the novel to do any real catching up.

By having WDKALY focus on a specific event during those "in between" years, multiple aspects were able to be touched upon at once: we were able to catch up with what most of the surrounding characters were doing, how things were being rebuilt after the war, and how the two couples came to be--Rukia and Renji through their wedding, and Ichigo confirming his harboured feelings for Orihime/approaching her after the ceremony. By doing this, Kubo effectively explained how both couples came to be within the same event--which was a great way to keep things simple and efficient.

In CFYOW, it was shown that Orihime and Ichigo had their hands full with helping rebuild the SS, Orihime even stayed there for a while with Ichigo and his father at kukaku's place, adding to that Ichigo being the type of guy who doesn't usually tell people how he really feels, ""I’m too bad at expressing my mind!” Ichigo thought, feeling like he wanted to tear his hair out." This was taken from the WDkALY LN, and it goes to show you that Ichigo really struggles with this type of thing, even with Renji's help and Orihime being there for the taking, he was so tense and he felt like he wanted to pull his hair out, even Orihime picked up on it and asked him if there was something wrong.

Basically Orihime and Ichigo are both the same when it comes to love, they will always be there for each other, they will sacrifice their lives for each other, but when it comes to confessing, even the thought of it might lead them to pass out, so time was needed for one of them to finally build up the courage and make the first move, knowing both of them, we should be grateful that it only took Ichigo 3 years after the war to finally tell her how he felt.

Renji took him forever to confess, he knew Ichigo was going through the same thing he went through, so it makes perfect sense for him to call Ichigo out on it and to encourage him to finally speak his mind.

"“You’re in love with her, aren’t you?”

“...That is...!”

At Renji’s blunt manner of speaking, Ichigo tried to force his words out one by one.

“Don’t keep such a nice girl waiting too long.”

“...I understand that” he said responding with a voice that seemed to disappear. “...but...don’t act so patronisingly all of a sudden...! And anyway, you were so slow it took you many decades yourself...” "
