Throbbing disrupts thoughts. Light pierces, Sound stings. Anguish. I want to escape. A cool, quiet, dark place. Take me, sweet sleep. Death seems a friend. An enemy yesterday. Now comfort and relief. I see no light, no tunnel. Edges soften, blur. Pain's threshold starts to slip. My body turns to mist. All around is dark and cold. I take my final rest. Goodbye short youth. Eternity beckons, softly cooing. Ready, I accept the call.
