Want to celebrate Pride and Juneteenth by making a tangible impact in the Chicagoland creative community?
As a Black designer, I’ve seen firsthand how difficult it is for me and my peers to access traditional creative spaces without feeling pressure to conform to alternate ideals. This lack of representation often leads to imposter syndrome and isolation for young Black and LGTBQ+ creatives. I believe that by expanding our definition of where art belongs and what it can be—informed by the Black American and queer experience—we can holistically lower the barrier to entry and paint a much more vibrant, clear picture of our cultural landscape.
To help bridge this gap, I am raising funds to support myself and fellow Black artists. Contributions will directly fund essential career resources, including art supplies, software subscriptions, travel expenses, grant application fees, and gallery proposal costs.
Any amount would help, and is deeply appreciated. Thank you for investing in Black and queer creativity!
