Here’s the thing about always having a plan B (and C, and D, and so forth): it takes time. Katherine Pierce had been around long enough to always have something up her sleeve even if, on occasion, she had to improvise. Things were different now. It was like…she’d been reset. Centuries of cruel and diabolical schemes had been tossed aside for some fanciful, fantasy life where she paid rent. Honestly, this might as well have been a hellscape at this point. With that thought echoed by none other than Kai Parker of all people, she lavishly deposited herself onto the bench, somehow taking up more room than necessary. “Well, well, well. I’m sure those will be your famous last words, won’t they?”

As quickly as he had dropped on to the bench, Kai was sat back upright when he heard the voice of Katherine Pierce- it was the respectful thing to do, if she wanted the whole bench then he would sit on the ground. Well... he would consider it. Kai had been a huge fan of Katherine ever since he had first laid eyes on her, but he was still Kai Parker. If he was going to be anyone’s number one fan, he was his own number one fan. “Katherine...” He breathed her name in a contented sigh, “Last words are overrated. Every hellscape will freeze over before you or I run out of things to say.”
