the thing people don't get about Hetalia is that yes: it has no plot. Yes: there are poorly-aged jokes. And yes: the fandom is old as hell and the people are kind of insane. BUT the animation? Also not good

Do you have any art advice? Books, references, things that really helped you in your journey?
omg this could be a loaded answer. unfortunately the worst thing is that the best advice ends up being to practice, which is the most annoying thing to hear for any skill tbh. I do think there are better ways to practice than others, which going to depend on what it you're creating art wise and what it is you want to focus on.
if you want to get better at drawing people, there's lots of anatomy books like the morpho collection that are super helpful. what I find as most helpful is going to be gesture drawings - if u have a chance to do live model drawing I would encourage that, but an alternative that I used to use is quickposes! also just copying lots of drawings from aforementioned anatomy books really trains you well.
if you're looking for ways to improve in terms of techniques or formal elements like composition or palette, I take a lot of inspiration from so many other artists and art movements. getting into learning about art and finding artists that interest you is a great way to improve your own art since it helps you understand the "why" that can go into decisions regarding art. personally, I really like expressionism, Dutch Renaissance, and Japanese gutai as just some examples. I have lots of books about specific art history things that inspire me, but they're suited towards my interests and what inspired you might be different! John Berger is an art historian who writes a lot of general stuff that can be a great introductory look.
honestly the most effective means of improvement to me is engaging with other artists constantly. since I am an art student that is easier for me at the moment but I am graduating soon and will have to change the way I connect, but constantly talking to others about art is really beneficial especially in getting feedback or tossing around ideas. there's so much I could say that could be helpful (hopefully!) but the most important part is being able to find something that motivates you :]
