"Jax, look, I know we don't get along, but I think you need to transition so we can start yuri maxxing the circus"
do you think when im offline?
i wait.
..that sounds lonely.
..it is.
important reminder that most people you follow online are significantly lamer than you think they are including me. and if you feel insecure comparing yourself to someone online: DON'T. theyre probably also lame and weird. most people on the internet are

i simply don't think nonbinary people should have to see having our gender/s respected and acknowledged as a luxury. i think it's frankly sickening that that's the state of things tbh.
sorry i just think that the fact that popular binary jokes are stuff like "god isn't it so much better to exist as my gender, i didn't even realize how incredibly depressed i was until i transitioned, my life is so much more rich and colorful now that im out and transitioning :)" and popular nonbinary jokes are stuff like "i think i might be nonbinary but that doesn't matter because i have real adult concerns and no one would respect it anyways lol" and that's. normal and funny and cool. yeah. clenches teeth so hard they turn to dust
happy nonbinary people's day. treat every nonbinary person you meet with as much compassion and respect as you possibly can or ill grind YOUR teeth to dust.
once tried to share a poem with my uncle about how awful it feels to be reduced to binary ideas of gender as a nonbinary trans dude who doesn't pass. hes a very supportive cis gay man who'd never intentionally disrespect my identity and even he kind of laughed at me when i shared it thinking it was like. supposed to be lighthearted or a joke in a way? even from one of the most compassionate people i know i feel like my identity and a massive chunk of my dysphoria comes off as a funny concept/nonserious. idk
poem included in case anyone wanted to read
This is really beautiful!
btw the poet above has their commisions open for poetry & tarot readings, if anyone's got some money and would like to get a custom poem / tarot reading / just support a nonbinary person!
this poem is seriously gorgeous @chaoticmagpies. its touched a lot of other nonbinary people & i really thank you for adding it to this post. your uncle was absolutely wrong to react that way & this deserves to be an officially published work imo. art like this is vital to our community.

The KIDS act (which contains KOSA) passed the US house, so I would recommend calling your senators and telling them to vote in opposition. I don't think I need to stress the importance of being able to use the internet freely and without privacy barriers being breached.
There are many scripts online you can follow, many ways to tweak your message to fit your senator (ESPECIALLY if they are up for reelection this year). Whether it's a recording you reach or a real person, be straightforward, don't argue, just let your rep know that you are a constituent and you oppose the KIDS act, etc.
Here is where you can search for your senator... call, email, fax, bring them physical letters, show up in person to their offices if you are able.
Obviously witch hat atelier is about a Lot of different things, but i love the subtle thread of it being about art and being an artist.
the scene of Coco finding out that Olruggio made the glowstone spell feels like a really great example of this. To Coco, the glowstone spell is what inspired her to dream of magic in the first place. It's a memory full of excitement, disappointment, and love that grew into a true passion.
To Olruggio, he's proud of his work on the glowstone spell, but it's also unremarkable. It's something he did a long time ago, maybe he'd do it better now if he was going to make it again, it's whatever. he's used to it.
But seeing Coco light up as she expresses how much that spell means to her, it feels very much like the moment of a young artist approaching an older artist and gushing about that older artist's 12 year old webcomic and how it inspired them to start drawing. Maybe that old work was even a little embarrassing to the more experienced artist, but seeing the sparkle in that younger artist's eyes....it makes the old thing seem new and worth admiration again.
It makes all the work seem worth it, and connects this lovely circle of an older generation inspiring a younger generation inspiring the older generation right back by affirming that the work you did meant something to someone.
idk, i just think this is such a nice moment especially in today's age, a moment where we reaffirm how important art can be.
KOSA again, with a different name… and they’re trying to sneak it past you before July 4th. CALL YOUR REPS!
Buried inside the KIDS Act are provisions that will push online services to verify all users’ ages, require government-directed moderation p
Like the man said…the shadow takes another form and ruses again. Time to make some calls and let them know we’re watching.
Just called my senator and the aide said "Yeah, you're not the first person we've heard from about this today." It is 9:45 in the morning and she already had that weary tone.
So keep calling--the needle is moving!
this is basically their dynamic right
