I'm going to also go through my drafts and drop any threads I haven't replied to in the last 3 months. I have a bad habit of hoarding and it sometimes causes me unintentional stress. as for my dash cleaning, i'm going to unfollowing/softblocking any archived/deactivated blogs, blogs that haven't posted for more than 3 months, and any blogs that haven't made any attempt to interact with my posts or me ever since following ( any new followers within the past month are exempt from this ). One would think that led Luck to being more sympathetic to young adolescents caught in dire straits, but on the contrary . . . well, no, it was more complicated than that. It was neither sympathy nor distaste. Perhaps it was more accurate to call it an understanding. A protective instinct. Luck had been a part of the underworld since he was very young β he knew very well of the collective dangers that came from even being in proximity with it. Not that he didnβt respect a budding ambition, of course, but . . .
still, iβd rather not be the one responsible for having them see things they shouldnβt . . . that being said, if this is who i think it is . . .
Berga had mentioned a young boy visiting the establishment from time to time β one from that gang of delinquents, if Luck was to be correct. This would normally cause quite a bit of an issue, being that the Gandors had almost run into conflict with that same group of individuals. However, it seemed as if Berga had taken to the young man, and Luck wasnβt really the sort to threaten children. If big bro had given him expressed permission to be hanging around the turf, then there really wasnβt much Luck could do. That made it a non - issue, anyway, though Luck would wish Berga had discussed such matters with him beforehand.
the boy isnβt making a scene nor is he causing us any current issues. i donβt see a problem looking the other way, though . . .

Coming to a conclusion in his own mind, Luck leaned back in his chair. He turned his head a little towards the boy, brown eyes dull with a hard - boiled glare. The chair scraped against the floor as Luck pressed into it, legs crossed with a hand dangling from the backboard. β excuse me, young man, but your name wouldnβt happen to be Mutt, is it? β
Luck paused for some sort of acknowledgement before continuing. β if youβre looking for Berga, iβm afraid heβs currently out of the office. you are free to wait for him if youβd wish, though i have no guarantee when heβll be back. would you like to play a card game in the meantime? β He smiled with a touch more kindness than he would normally allow.
meechi. i think the most wild thing about Luck becoming immortal is that it wasn't sought OR brought about by a memorable occurrence. you'd think with someone who became immortal, there'd be a lot more excitement to his story, but the truth is, Luck becoming immortal was the most casual thing. He was literally going about his day / life as he normally would and he just so happened to drink a liquor that gave him an immortal body. He didn't even know until he died from machine gun fire the next day. When Luck says he can't tell you the story of how he became immortal, he means you'll find it very anticlimatic, i'm sure.
the years pass. people come. people go. you've had people ask you from time to time if you regret it, if you regret making yourself able to reject death at every turn. you just blink, and ask them why they want to know. it always makes them turn away the conversation. that isn't to say you regret it. but sometimes, it's lonely. sometimes, knowing that you'll outlive the entire world, it's a weight on your shoulders. not to mention what you had to do in order to become this way. but you don't talk about that. all that people need to know is that at the end of the day, everything must end. you just made sure you'll see that everything does before you.
