DDVAU-Vember Day 21- Headcanon
There's a Cute Guy Shrine tucked away in a corner of the city, and it's exactly as chaotic as you'd expect. It's not an official monument—far from it. Instead, it's a ramshackle collection of items left by adoring fans, conspiracy theorists, and people who just find the whole thing amusing, all under the roof of a disused bus shelter.
The shrine started as a single doodle on the wall: a cartoonish version of Cute Guy, complete with his iconic feathered mask. Slowly, the area transformed into a dedicated space. Strings of fairy lights hang from the wall, dozens of handmade fan art pieces, and scribbled notes range from "Thank you for protecting us!" to "Who are you really?"
Among the chaos, there’s a noticeable collection of items. Someone even left a little plush bird with pink and black feathers, clearly inspired by Cute Guy’s wings. There's a box where people can place Cute Guy's lost possessions. That alone saved him from Mumbo's annoyance over needing another gun!
Grian knows about the shrine and is simultaneously flattered and mortified. Once, while patrolling, he stumbled upon a group adding to it. He immediately turned invisible and waited for them to leave, but not before muttering under his breath, "What is wrong with these people?"
Still, he secretly appreciates it. On bad days, when the weight of his work feels crushing, he’ll swing by the shrine, invisible, just to read the notes of gratitude. It reminds him that no matter how hard things get, there are people who genuinely care about him and her work.
The shrine is semi-close to The University, and Grian finds it hard not to laugh whenever he passes it, especially when he sees people taking selfies with the artwork. He’s been tempted to leave a note himself saying, “You’re all ridiculous, but thanks.” He also sometimes wonders how the city hasn’t taken it down yet—but secretly hopes they never do.
