"I don't get it either, lovebug.. But don't listen to what the people at church say. Gossip is what they're best at." she was angry, hurt, and exhausted. But she was a damn strong woman for her kids. -cabernet-martyr
“I know,” she replied softly as she crawled into her mom’s lap, “it just scares me I guess… Are you and Dad going to be okay?”
@cabernet-martyr
She shifted so she could be more comfortable. The twin girls were sleeping in their little bassinet right beside the couch they sat on. “I.. wish i had an answer to that question my love. I really do.” she placed her arms around her, and a kiss upon her head.
She winced at the kiss, “Ah, thinking about all of this gives me a headache.”
Christine glanced at her sleeping sisters and muttered, “I’m so jealous…”
“Why are you jealous, love?” She asked her eldest daughter, puzzled.
She sighed, “they’re not worried about anything. Not about you, Dad, Uncle Robert; anything! They get to be babies and sleep.”
“They don’t seem it, because they can’t communicate well yet.. but they miss your father.. when they wail and squirm but I lay them on his side of the bed they calm.. it breaks my heart even more...”

"Hello Rosa," An exhausted Mary mused as she came into The Coffee Spoon, brood of children in tow as she had the two month old girls wrapped against her frame securely. - Cabernet-Martyr

Rosa smiled as she looked up at Mary and the small girls. Rosa herself had a little, sleeping boy with her, not much older than these two, she guessed.
“Hello, Mary. What can I do for you?”, she asked.
“Could I get a few chocolate milks and one strawberry? And an extra strong espresso for me.” She mused as she sat down with a small sigh of relief.
“Anything to eat?”, she asked calmly.
Rosa too had gotten twins, sometimes Mat would take one of them as well as Rosa and sometimes each or them took both depending on the situation.
“We have some chocolate-mint muffins as special today. Or maybe some lunch or late breakfast?”
“Oh no, we are good. The children had eaten already.” She gave a tired half smile. “Say.. you or mat haven’t seen Joseph around lately.. have you?”
Rosa thought for a bit. The coffee spoon wasn’t very big so she could easily speak to Mary through the café.
“No, not really. I think he’s on vacation or something but I can be wrong. Why do you ask that?”
“Ah... well he hasn’t been home in little over a month... shortly after the girls were born..” she sighed. They had their issues sometimes.. but that didn’t mean they weren’t infatuated with each other still. And this was unlike him to just vanish..

I haven’t seen Joseph around in a while.. he won’t answer his phone and the children are asking for him.. the girls are fussy most of the time and it’s hard to juggle six children when you’re one person..
Mary, to Damien: And if you see Joseph, give him this message. Mary: [makes a neutral face] Mary: He’ll know what it means. [later] Damien: Oh, and Mary said to give you a message. Damien: [makes a neutral face] Joseph: Oh no. The neutral face of displeasure.

She rolled her eyes playfully at that remark. He was so full of it, and he knew. Though when she was suddenly whisked off her feet she squeaked, caught off guard as she held on. The woman was a pit of laughter the whole way into the kitchen, placed into the counter she was at perfect matching height with the blonde man.
It reminded her of their newlywed days, and even their late teens. And it made her heart flutter around in her chest. Leaning forward, she wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him sweetly.
Joseph laughed too, and trapped her on the counter also leaning to meet her to accept the kiss. Then he put his arms around her shoulders and hugged her close, burying his face in Mary’s long hairs. “I missed you a lot” he sighed as he softly stroked her back. It’s not like she has been out that long but it’s when they’re having these kind of moments again that he realizes over and over how much he’d lost risking to ruin their marriage.
“But I wasn’t gone terribly long, love.” She chuckled, running her fingers through his blonde locks. She cherished this moment, the closeness. It made her feel whole again.
“Mmn. We should start cooking dinner before we become hungry for other things.”

These little babies are quite the handful today. And they aren’t even a month old, little mischief makers.
“How is it,” he started, “That I happened to find the man who was married to a woman who turned out be completely unafraid of having something otherworldly possess her husband?”
She was so warm. Warm and accepting.
She looked up, listening intently as she processed what he said. Smirking, she had a perfect one liner. “Because demons are my kink.” She kept a straight face, but pat his chest gently. “Not much scares me, only the fear of being alone.”
“If I’m quite honest, this is perfect,” he murmured, pulling her closer to him once she’d set her work down. “Work was..killer.”
He was still a father himself. He could indulge in a…what did mortals call them? Dad jokes? He could indulge in a dad joke every now and again.
Having a place to return to that so fully accepted him was a gift that was not lost to him.
Soon she was right up against him, looking up with honey brown audits. She nearly rolled her eyes at the pun, before resting her head near the crook of his neck.
“Oh, I bet.” She replied, a hand gently resting on his chest as her thumb ran over it gently.
Missed Munday but here is Mun-Wednesday.
