Joseph took a disinterested glance at the unnaturally long wasp curled up in the grass; dead, hence not a threat.

He rocked back and forth on his heels, hands clasped behind his back , as he hummed in response.

“Christie and Christian told me you’re helping them with their little investigation.” he added casually, eyes moving on Robert once his attention was back to the kids, “that you confirmed their theory about people in the neighborhood mysteriously abducted and replaced with clones, so I was wondering how one would recognize them.”

He gave a quick glance toward the insect as the twins poked at it again. It definitely looked freaky — Maybe even worse since it was dead. 

Sitting back on his heels, Robert turned his attention back to Joseph before raising an eyebrow. 

“Which one? They tell me about a lot of them.” Probably because, whether he was joking or not, he seemed to encourage the twins antics. The mention of the clone theory, though, earned a soft hum. That was one of the more recent ones. “Clones would have have a belly button. They’re identical to the original person, after all.”

“I don’t know about that.” another glance to the kids before Joseph shook his head, telling Christie they couldn’t take the insect’s corpse back to home.

“They’re artificially made, and not born naturally. It makes no sense they’d have belly buttons. Plus, the kids are taking notes about everyone who’s acting weird because they’re suspected to be clones...and apparently I’m in their list too, for taking only two spoonful of sugar in my coffee instead of my usual three this morning.”

Attention turned away from watching the twins poke at whatever little insect... thing they had found. He had crouched down next to the kids to watch them and try to figure out what the thing was. He hadn't even noticed Joseph come up behind them until a minute ago.

"It's a bug. I think." He glanced back toward the pair of tiny blondes. "Give 'em a minute and they'll figure it out."
