I am, indeed, back on my bullshit and turning everything I touch into a Pokémon AU. No, I am not surprised either. Also I actually had more of these planned but work has stolen my motivation so yeet I guess.

So for Din’s team, Lucario and Arcanine have been around the longest. Arcanine he had as a child (as a Growlithe) and was rescued from the droids when Din was. Lucario (as a Riolu) he chose as his partner when he joined the Fighting Corps. The two of them have been through quite a bit with him. Skarmory joined him shortly after he left the Corps, which he and many others marked as a good omen for him. I imagine that Skarmory’s “feathers” would actually be made of beskar in a SW/Pokémon crossover, and so are considered somewhat sacred to Mandalorians. Mimikyu joined a little after Din joined the Tribe, and the irony is not lost on anyone, what with the whole “hiding your face/true form” thing. Aron is the newest edition to Din’s team, the Pokémon part of Din’s payment for bringing in the Child. Unlike the iron ore most Aron eat to turn their bodies to steel, this one has actually eaten beskar, and it’s body is made of beskar as such.

Cobb’s team is all Pokémon that Cobb has found and taken care of over the years. The desert is a harsh and lonely place after all. Garchomp (as a Gible) he found as a preteen, injured and left for dead after “failing” to perform well in fights. He nursed him back to health, though he still has some scars left from the fight. Vibrava (as a Trapinch) Cobb found when he was in his twenties, finding him tipped on his back amongst the dunes and half-dead. Sandile was quite literally dumped on Cobb’s porch one one of the many occasions the krayt dragon came through Mos Pelgo, the displacement of sand sending the Sandile flying. Cubone is the newest edition to Cobb’s team, the Pokémon wandering into town one day lost and hungry.

I love how the body structure and the decor of the larger bone fairy creates a nice area of concentration that leads the viewer’s eye towards the tooth fairy. This, aside from the obvious glow and design contrast, help direct the attention where needed and is a brilliant move by the artist.
