This week’s current issue in mental health: the price of medication. With numerous people sharing stories about how medication was the first step when they were getting help, we wanted to point out how the cost of these treatments is prohibitive especially for people without insurance. [Edit] As many people have pointed out these are the costs of brand name medications. Always ask your doctor if there is a generic brand available because they are often much cheaper!
Yes
You mean right now?
Fermentation: hope you like doing glycolysis.
Kitchen Witch Cold Soothing Recipes - Honey Fermentation
As I find myself feeling the cold symptoms progressed by my seasonal allergies (coughing, sore throat), I figured I would share two recipes I use that help speed up the recovery process and soothe the unsavoury symptoms.
Honey Fermented Garlic
- 1 head of garlic
- raw, unfiltered, unpasteurised honey
- mason jar / jar with easily removed lid (glass!!)
Start out by peeling all of the cloves in the head of garlic, then gently bruising and busting them open with the flat side of a knife or the back of a pestle. Let them rest for around 5 minutes. Add to your jar, and add enough honey to just cover them.
As the honey and garlic sit, a fermentation will start and you will notice small bubbles forming, pressure in your jar, and that the honey becomes very very thin (as opposed to the natural thick viscosity). Flip and “bother” your jar every day and release pressure build up. I generally just keep a jar of fermenting garlic honey always, just adding more honey and garlic as I get low.
Both honey and garlic have incredible natural medicinal properties. Garlic is antibiotic in nature and has been used for numerous generations in medicine. Sulfurus compounds, one of which being allicin, are produced when the cloves are crushed or chopped - these are linked to biological well being and combatting sickness. Amongst other benefits, such as good cholesterol health and lowering your blood pressure naturally, garlic is just overall very good for you. Honey as well is antibiotic in nature, and offers a sweet soothing feeling to any raw throat.
Raw garlic on its own is very pungent and relatively unbearable to eat completely raw. Fermented garlic in honey completely loses its bite and gains a sweetness, making it a lot more bearable to consume. Either eat the garlic cloves directly or consume a tablespoon of the honey when your throat starts feeling sore and continue throughout your cold.
Honey Fermented Ginger
- one medium/large ginger root, peeled and cut into chunks
- raw, unfiltered, unpasteurised honey
- mason jar / jar with lid that is easily removed (glass!!)
Start by peeling and cutting the ginger into chunks before crushing it with the back end of a pestle to bruise and break up. Put into your jar and cover with enough honey to cover it. Follow the same agitation steps as previously noted in the honey fermented ginger recipe.
This mixture will also get very thin, exhibit bubbles, and produce considerable pressure while fermenting as ginger is very active. I generally also just keep a jar of this mixture going year round, adding more as necessary.
Ginger is not only good for colds - it has anti inflammatory properties (headaches, muscle soreness, arthritis, etc) and aids in nausea treatment, as well as promoting good heart and circulatory system health.
Ginger is a little easier to consume raw, but still has a considerable bite - fermenting in honey mellows the strong flavour and softens it a touch, enough to be eaten out of the jar. I like adding a tablespoon or two of the ginger honey to my hot tea (or just mixing it into boiling water and consuming that) as it helps soothe the throat. Follow the same suggestions for consumption as the honey fermented garlic, or get creative with your consumption.
Both of these recipes are are really easy, and I find they help considerably in bringing me back to my full healthy glory.
Blessed be my witch friends ✨

more things i’ve discovered after 2 years of raising garden snails:
- they will wiggle their eye stalks in excitement - they have favorite places to sleep and favorite friends to sleep with - they’re good for your skin so let them run around on ur face!!! - they can feel their shells, which means they can feel u pet them (pet gently!!) - u can help a snail with a broken shell by giving it eggshells or cuttlebones to scrape (the calcium helps them patch up!) - they like a change of scenery and will explore all day if u change something - absolute cuddle bugs. love to snuggle with u, with friends, with dirt - u can hear them chew!! listen closely when u feed them….. asmr - as distinct as snowflakes, every single one is different!! i can tell all of my snails apart easily - babies. absolute baby children - speaking of babies, baby garden snails are no bigger than raindrops and translucent… delicate!! keep in a separate enclosure until they’re bigger!! baby jail!!! - some snails are shy……… kiss them. they are important
When you are doing really well but then you have an existential crisis bc you Must Have Been Faking It The Whole Time
This is so fucking wack
You guys really just hate any woman using her sexuality to make money. You’ll consume all her media for free but the moment she wants something in return y’all get spiteful and way outta pocket about it. The whole “but Snapchat doesn’t allow adult content!” is fucking weak because I’m sure y’all still posting ass and thirst traps constantly.
I don’t even know how this alone would be an act of tax fraud, you have no idea what income she reports, but the fact that y’all feel SO strongly about this shit that you try to fuck up people’s livelihoods for the laughs is garbage. I hope the next time y’all need any assistance everyone spits in your face.
It’s been awful on Facebook. Men would go and harass women who do sex work. And start posting edgy memes and saying really disgusting shit. And these are the same ones that are like “I respect all women! Why don’t they like me!?” 🙄
the sites that we use to sell our content TAX US . i’ve sent in the tax forms on more than one occasion .
and of course they aren’t out there reporting their weed guy to the irs. it’s pure hatred of women
The incel army CAN’T report you to the IRS even if they wanted to.
i truly hope that the anxiety and fear those women felt due to these monsters comes back to get them (the men) 10 fold.
This is healthy, right?
PAY ATTENTION! This is how you weed out the men who deserve your time and the ones that don’t. These dudes are literally telling you who they are, but y'all refuse to listen. Your safety comes first.
I’m in a FB group where dudes 30 and older were having full tantrums over this post. These are the same guys that admit:
Not deleting nudes post break up
Not believing when women that were sexually assaulted
Not believing sex with a partner that is sleeping is rape
Etc.
Please do not date people that take issue with your protecting yourself.
i deadass took a picture of my dates license and sent to my homegirls in the gc. and turned on my location. yea you cool but it’s always about me and my safety.
Men who aren’t trash should already know this is commonplace. One of my last dates even offered to take a picture together for my safety text.
Men who get mad when women try to protect themselves are just telling on themselves, nothing more.
All you people out there talking about “spreading my private information” like you don’t drive around with your liscense plate out there for everyone and their mom to see all day every day. Sit down. Shut up. She didn’t ask for your social security number you absolute acorn. Your plates are public knowledge.
changing your body won’t heal your mind
💥CANNABIS INFUSED HOT CHOCOLATE💥
•What you’ll need:
-1 Cup of Milk
-1 tspn of butter (You can use regular butter or cannabis butter for this)
-1 Cup of Water
-Hot Chocolate Mix
-1-2g of Marijuana
-Coffee filter
•Directions:
-Grind up the marijuana in a grinder to the finest point that it can get and add it to the water, along with the butter and milk. As always, the butter is a very important step. THC isn’t water soluble and you won’t get as stoned if you don’t add the butter. Keep the water at a minimal boil. While you want the hot chocolate to be hot, boiling the water isn’t good for the THC extraction.
-Let the mixture heat up for about 10-15 minutes. After you start to smell the almost almond like smell coming from the water/butter/weed mix, get your mug and add the hot chocolate mix to it. Take the coffee filter and place it over the top of the mug. Pour the hot liquid in to the mug to strain out all of the marijuana buds. Stir the chocolate up and enjoy! You can also add some whipped cream and cinnamon if you want. This chocolate drink will keep you elevated for a night so plan on staying in!
