- Herman Hesse, p.144-145
looked a cool artist i found and instead of her actual art the first result google showed me was AI art made with her work. i hate it here!!!!!!!
well anyway. my discovery of the day is the art of Jeffrey Catherine Jones! she was a trans woman who painted a huge amount of fantasy & scifi cover art for books and magazines, among other things :)
Divinity and Divination
I was doing some divination and I asked "why is my period late" and the answers were as follows: SABIAN SYMBOL: 29° Cancer "A Greek muse weighing newborn twins in golden scales" KOZMINSKY SYMBOL: 29° Gemini "A child blowing a steel glove from a cube of stone" I CHING: Hex 59 "Dissolving" changing to Hex 39 "Obstruction"
A few days later I got a positive pregnancy test. It's interesting how all the numbers end in 9, which is associated with the length of human gestation.
My results are consistently accurate, but I think this is sort of a glaring example. Anybody else been practicing divination for years and are still constantly amazed that it actually works? Like hey WTF is happening? How does this work from a scientific perspective of the space-time continuum and shit? Why can I kinda see into the future and kinda read people's minds and stuff? Why aren't people freaking out about this? Am I insane? How is magic just casually a real thing and most people aren't even paying attention?
I guess it's hard to believe in it if you've never done it, and most scientifically-minded people wouldn't even give it a try, and even if they did, they'd still convince themselves it was bullshit, and even if they didn't, they'd never say anything for fear of ridicule. It flies in the face of the currently prevailing cultural paradigm.
Einstein famously said "God does not play dice" in relation to quantum mechanics. As far as I can tell, it's almost like God IS dice. There's something weirdly powerful about randomness. Chaos is the progenitor of the universe. Funny enough, if I look at the numerology of GOD [909] and DICE [9135] according to my own system, they add up to the same number: 18. [The Moon]. It's all very Feminine, and I think there's something to the idea that God is ultimately female. In some cases, an egg can develop into an embryo without being fertilized. We call it the Cosmic Egg, not the Cosmic Sperm. Lol. (I say this as someone who is female, but is not a woman.)
My standard technique is to do a chakra meditation, letting my mind visualize colored objects and concepts relating to each chakra, while humming along to corresponding Solfeggio tones. When I get up to Sahasrara, I enter a state of universal consciousness. Then I have access to essentially the Mind of God, from which I can view myself as if I were outside of my body (I know I'm part of the totality too, but this just helps me to detach from my ego), and while in this state I ask about myself or others. I pose the question as a series of images, which I focus on while throwing coins or selecting a card or symbol at random. Again, I have no idea how or why this shit works. I would have thought chakras and Solfeggio tones were a bunch of New Age gobbledygook. But it just has an unmistakable effect.
Occasionally I've done it without meditating first, and it can still be effective, it's just harder to get into that expanded state of consciousness which I think is really key. Your brainwaves have to settle into a pattern that's less like ordinary consciousness and probably more like lucid dreaming. You don't want to be yourself while doing this. Divination requires divinity.
"If then you do not make yourself equal to God, you cannot apprehend God; for like is known by like. Leap clear of all that is corporeal, and make yourself grown to a like expanse with that greatness which is beyond all measure; rise above all time and become eternal; then you will apprehend God." - Hermes Trismegistus

Every spiritual practice should be based on these three pillars:
1.) Study- reading, listening or otherwise absorbing information about your practice, learning about theology, metaphysics, and the theory behind your path.
2.) Contemplation- internalising what you learned through study, connecting it to your experiences and letting it absorb into the way you see the world around you.
3.) Practice- taking what you contemplated on and using it to alter the reality you live in

When the corpses of the gods fell upon this world, it was said that man was born from their spilled Ichor. From this divine flesh and blood came life, and the Age of Ichor began. Mankind has truly been blessed by this Godly Fluid and its Four Humors, but they are not the only ones to be graced by its power. Think of man's own flesh, and the plethora of life that dwells within it. Why would the gods be any different? It is egotistical to think that humans were the only ones to emerge from this death. One simply needs to look around this world to see the other miracles that wriggled free from this divine flesh. Witness the "Apostle Leeches" and see the truth.
The Apostle Leeches are creatures that were found deep within the ancient flesh of the gods, parasitic worms that fed upon the Ichor and Blood. It was back in the early days when these entities were uncovered, and many looked upon them and saw divinity. While it is easy to think now that the Church of Divine Wealth was the one to raise these leeches as symbols of faith, that was not truly the case. The first to truly embrace the Apostle Leeches was the cult that would eventually become the Venitential Order. Those who worshiped Blood above the other three Humors, the scarred faithful who prayed and offered with whip, blade and leech. Bloodletting was a form of sacrifice and penance, a way to release the evil and sickness that built up within our bodies. While the more rabid and eager would turn to flagellation and knives to let loose, the use of leeches was the more common method. They would draw out the wicked fluids, clean the Blood and accept this meal as offering, which made these creatures holy to the Venitential Order. So when the Apostle Leeches were discovered by miners, this order immediately saw the face of the gods.
Here was a creature that fed upon Ichor and Blood, living upon fluids of the gods. Their flesh could handle the toxicity of the golden fluid, and through these meals they could produce their own Blood of incredible power and potency. The imperfections and sins trapped in this crimson humor would be cleansed away through these meals, creating a purity that man still struggles to achieve with their own methods. This was the sign of their divinity, and it was why the Venitential Order was eager to worship them. The Apostle Leeches had been one with the gods when they lived, and they now served as a conduit between the holy Ichor and wondrous Blood.
The Apostle Leeches would be taken to their temples and showered in worship and Blood. The followers of this faith would happily offer their Blood to these leeches, seeing it as one of the greatest forms of cleansing. And when enough of this mortal humor, tainted by sickness and sin, was fed to them, they would create this purer strain. The Blood would pool within their suction cup that would serve as a chalice, and only the most worthy would be offered this divine gift. The Blood of an Apostle Leech has incredibly potency, able to make the old feel young again, and take away the burden of the sick and broken. Medicine crafted with this fluid is miraculous and even a mere drop is said to be enough to rouse the nearly dead. This is the blessing of Blood and Ichor, filtered through these divine leeches and given to the masses who bow before them.
Though they are held highly, practically saints in the eyes of the Venitential Order, the Apostle Leeches themselves speak and do very little. They are sluggish and silent, often resting in pools of red and gold. The faithful say that they are in constant meditation, more attuned to the world of the gods than that of man. Their six eyes remain closed, their stubby hands always held in prayer. The main actions one will see from them is the accepting of Blood, or the offering of their chalice to those they see as worthy. In rare cases, they emerge from their meditative pools and approach those that have drawn their attention. How or why they suddenly select a random soul from the crowd is unknown, but something within a person may beckon them. The Apostle Leech shall approach, with legend saying that they will speak into the person's mind. Their words are short and slow, speaking of prophecy and fates. Their mouths will pull open and gently bite into the flesh. The holy touch of the Apostle Leech's fangs may bless or banish, either infusing the person with their own Blood to give them needed strength or draining away a terrible evil that no medicine or prayer could destroy. They will do this deed, bow, then return to their pool and speak no more of it. Those who bear the teeth marks of an Apostle Leech gain quite the status within the Venitential Order, seen as those chosen by their divine creatures.
The Venitential Order and their Apostle Leeches were once their own separate faith, until the Church of Divine Wealth began to grow and consume the land. While other religions would cower in the shadows or be crushed beneath the golden boot, the Venitential Order did the wise move of joining this new superpower. The Church worshiped all Humors, and had no quarrels with those who loved Blood. They would see that the Order held tightly to penance and absolution, a faith that appreciated temperance and sacrifice. Such a cult would fit neatly into the Church and could be tasked with bringing healing and cleansing to those within the golden faith. The Venitential Order was brought into the fold, and the Apostle Leeches came with.

Do you have any advice on worshiping Persephone?
You could giver her offerings of flowers and observe any ancient festivals she’s associated with. You could worship her in the more traditional sense you’d worship any God and light a candle, have an image or something that represents her on your altar, burn incense, recite a hymn, offer food, and pour libation. I think there isn’t much in depth information on how it goes but I personally think the how to is less important than the worship being sincere and meaningful though I think some people may disagree. Just try to be respectful and avoid offering things like soda or really synthetic incense
