admirer of astrology & the stars ☀️ i like to use my blog as a reference guide on astrology & its history 🌙
The Astrology Podcast has recently dropped their July 2026 Forecast and it came with a new format, what did you guys think of it? They give more explanations to more transits this month, or rather it felt like it. As always, I recommend watching their monthly forecast especially if you're curious about general mundane astrology - but they also cover personal forecasts to throughout the podcast. :)
One of the things they added was the pre-existing transits which I think is very useful especially after writing my post about accurate predictions which also had some existing transits from the previous month.
Pre-existing transits of July was:
Mercury stations Retrograde ♋️ (Shadow period: 23rd June, Retrograde period 29th July - 23rd July)
Mars moves into Gemini ♊️ and forms conjunction with Uranus (June 17th - July19th)
Jupiter enters Leo ♌️ 30th June
And now for transits of July :)
July 3rd - 4th Mars Uranus Conjunction in Gemini ♊️ (3 degree orb: June 29th - July 8th, 10 degree orb: June 17th - July 19th): many!!! things!!! happening !!! at once!!!!, explosive turns and sudden raptures that suddenly changes the landscape of things, suddenly exposes division in something that was meant to be in unity, game-changing or breaking developments, volatility and instability, accidents and severe disruptions that come out of nowhere, military developments and liberations. Rebellions & liberations: it is a natal signature for US, Cuba, Lebanon & Venezuela.
June 29th - July 23rd Mercury Retrograde in Cancer ♋️: technological difficulties, internet glitches & outages, software crashes, delays, travel disruptions, transit breakdowns, logistical errors. Personally or internally a period of going back and looking at the past, situations or people coming back from the past and needing to review things.
July 12th Sun Mercury Cazimi in Cancer ♋️: can start to clarify difficulties from the Mercury Retrograde.
July 14th 🌚 New Moon in Cancer ♋️: doubles down on re-thinking the cancer area in your life and can bring closure to themes in this house
July 18th Uranus ♊️ trines Pluto ♒️: acceleration of technology and coming to fruition of technologies
June 19th Mars ♊️ sextile Saturn ♈️: stabilises and re-balances, with Mars benefitting from the planning and restraint that Saturn brings
July 19th Jupiter ♌️ Opposite Pluto ♒️: Issues with manipulation of the truth or control of information, power grabs, subversion of the high minded - Jupiter and Pluto are essentially opposite in virtues ad actions. On the other hand, significant positive historic events have also happened under this transit. In general this is a powerful combination for good and bad events.
July 20th Bottom Bucket Pattern - Jupiter ♌️ Pluto ♒️ Opposition, Jupiter ♌️ Sextile Uranus ♊️, Uranus ♊️ Sextile Neptune ♈️, Neptune ♈️ Sextile Pluto ♒️: often known as Barbo's Basket - it is often seen in a positive light by many astrologers although it has also coincided with plagues like COVID.
July 21st Jupiter ♌️ sextile Neptune ♈️: may speak to something more personal about someones faith as Jupiter and Neptune have been associated with religion, beliefs. Can make beliefs be real, feel real - however Neptune almost always promises more than is delivered.
July 24th Mercury is direct in Cancer ♋️ & Venus ♍️ sextiles Mercury ♋️: this can smooth things out for things associated with the Mercury retrograde
July 27th North node moves into Aquarius ♒️ and South Node moves into Leo ♌️: Major beginnings and endings here - what may seem small at first can be a large chain of events
July 28th Venus ♍️ squares Mars ♊️: Sex scandals, tensions between sexes. Severance of relationships, partnerships and alliances, treaties. Creative tension, and also close to the natal Mars of the US chart.
July 29th Sun Jupiter Cazimi in Leo ♌️: “The dream is strong”
I feel like this time is a bigger list than last month. 😅 Did the transits of last month bring an obvious impact for you last month? Feel free to comment down below, it'd be interesting to hear. ^^ In the meantime, as always, I recommend listening to the whole July 2026 Forecast if you want an in-depth explanation of the transits + the electional day of the month!
As we go through the month of July I hope you have a homey, comfy, emotionally secure Cancer season~
Preface
It was pretty interesting doing this research because I noted that a lot of the times, the authors would lean into one certain zodiac stereotype, though they're suppose to be explaining the general meanings and temper of one element.
In my summary before the cited sources, I try my best to take out this sort of bias towards one zodiac of the element, as well as of course adding my own observations. I believe that the authors did this sort of weigh towards one zodiac unconsciously, and I can understand why or how it could happen. But with multiple sources being present and my summary being an overall observation from these sources, hopefully we can all see the general pattern that is the archetype of each element.
The zodiac signs are known to fall under the four elements of fire, water, earth and air. Each of these elements have primarily been known to explain the temperaments of the signs in their corresponding elements. What makes each sign’s temperament different from its fellow signs under the same element though, is its modality. With the blend of modality and element, we see how each zodiac sign has a different ‘flavour’ or characteristic compared to the other members of the zodiac.
The aspect of elements has existed in astrology ever since ancient times, and is a concept that comes from and is observed in various other cultures.
Cited Sources:
From Kevin Burk’s Astrology: A Comprehensive Guide to Classical Interpretation:
“The elemental balance of the zodiac comes from the ancient Greek philosophical concept of the universe: that everything was made up of a combination of the four basic elements of fire, earth, air, and water. Each element has qualities associated with it that are unique to that element. The qualities of each symbolic element are very much derived from the qualities of the physical manifestation of that element.”
From Douglas Bloch & Demetra George’s Astrology for Yourself: How to Understand and Interpret Your Own Birth Chart:
“These four elements—Fire-plasma, Air-gases, Earth-solids, and Water-liquids—have been used by all ancient cosmologies (the Greeks, Chinese, Hindus, American Indians, etc.) to describe the basic building blocks of all organic and psychic forms. The symbology of the elements is reflected in the song with the chorus chant of “Earth my body, water my blood, air my breath, fire my spirit.” Astrologically, the elements depict four distinct personality temperaments that are basic to human nature.
…All of us embody each one of these four faces of the prime symbol. They interact within us, defining our individual personalities. The kaleidoscope of human character types reflects the infinite diversity of relationships among the elements.”
From Steven Forrest’s The Inner Sky:
“Fire, earth, air, and water. The elements. Images from antiquity. Four primal states of being. Four faces of the universe. Within us they exist as states of consciousness. Beyond us they function as templates for all physical and metaphysical processes…”
From Chani Nicholas’ You Were Born For This:
“There are four elements: fire, earth, air, and water. Each element has its own temperament. The element of a sign will tell you whether it functions via inspiration, practicality, communication, or emotion.”
From Robert Hand’s Horoscope Symbols:
“The four elements—fire, earth, air, and water—are familiar in the popular consciousness because most people have been taught that the ancients believed all substances to be composed of them. We pride ourselves on knowing today that matter is composed not of four, but of nearly a hundred elements.
Yet if the old doctrine of elements sounds silly, it is because modern people do not comprehend exactly what the ancients were saying. The ancients were not as concerned as we are with elements as chemical building blocks, because they were not as occupied in establishing the objective reality of nature as distinct from human experience. Rather, reality and human experience were conceived of as one, a continuum. The same kind of symbolic analysis that today we might apply to understanding the human psyche was applied to nature as well. Thus the ancients were more interested in modalities of existence, in factors that pertain to characterisitics of the behavior of a thing, and (although they did not think of it this way) in the different modes in which people can experience the essence of a thing.
If something was experienced as hot, sharp, active, and possessing a striking individuality of its own coupled with dynamism and a kind of inherent instability, it was conceived as having the nature of the element fire. If another entity was experienced as being solid, constant, material, supportive and enduring, it was conceived as having the quality of the element earth. And so forth. If one were to ask a man of ancient times if he thought that someone with a fiery temperament actually had a greater amount of fire in him, the answer would be yes, but his conception of what it would mean to contain fire would be quite different from a modern person’s. The idea of substance has changed. In the Renaissance, people in the West began to acquire a more nearly modern notion of what substances are. Simply put, a modem person asking what elements something is composed of is not asking the same question as an ancient. Modern people ask what is the objective reality of a substance’s makeup, whereas the ancients asked what is its subjective reality, that is, what are the components of the experience one has of a substance. Fire or earth describe one’s experience of a substance, not its chemical nature. This way of thinking about the elements has survived unchanged in modem astrology. Thus, when we talk of a fiery temperament, we are talking of essential qualities of behavior and the way in which that behavior is experienced by others. No one in his right mind believes that a fiery personality actually contains more of the substance fire.”
From Chris Brennan’s Hellenistic Astrology: The Study of Fate and Fortune:
“By the fifth century BCE, the philosopher Empedocles outlined a doctrine in which there were four of these principles or, as he called them, “roots" (rhizōmata): earth, air, fire and water. These four "roots" were later adopted by the philosopher Plato in the fourth century BCE, who was the first to refer tothem as "elements" (stoicheia) in his account of the creation of the cosmos, the Timaeus…
Aristotle, a student of Plato, also adopted the four-element theory, although he expanded it by incorporating the concept that the elements are able to turn into one another rather than being immutable, as Empedocles apparently believed…Aristotle subsequently posited that while each element is capable of transforming into another, this transformation happens much faster for those elements that share a quality in common.
…References to how the elements were used in delineations are scarce, although they generally seem to be employed like the gender assignments, in which there is both a very literal way they could be used in interpretations, as well as a broader, symbolic way.
…In addition to being one of the few Hellenistic sources that mentions the elements in connection with the triplicities, Valens is also one of the only authors who mentions the qualities that he associates with the elements, and here he follows the Stoic conceptualization which makes fire hot, air cold, water wet, and earth dry. This ends up having important implications for the way that the elements are assigned to the signs of the zodiac, because the common scheme amongst astrologers who mention them puts the fire signs opposite to the air signs, and the water signs opposite to the earth signs. Thus the author of this scheme provided a concrete depiction of the Stoic conceptualization of the elemental oppositions, which places fire/hot opposite to air/cold, and water/ wet opposite to earth/dry.
Later, in book 9 of the Anthology, Valens returns to this topic, discussing the way in which the elements change into and counterbalance each other…These interpretations of the qualities associated with the elements seem to provide an access point for understanding their broader interpretive value within the context of Hellenistic astrology, because this is where they integrate
into traditional doctrines surrounding the temperaments, which in turn are connected to ancient views surrounding character analysis and the nature of the psyche. The first century philosopher, Seneca, gives a useful overview of the Stoic temperament theory:
There are four elements—fire, water, air, and earth—with matching properties—hot, cold, dry, and moist. Accordingly, the blending of the elements produces variations in places and creatures and bodies and customs; creatures' innate characters incline more in a given direction in direct proportion to the greater force that the preponderance of a given element supplies. Hence we call some areas "moist" and "dry" and “hot" and "frigid." The same distinctions are valid for animals and humans: it makes a difference how much moisture and heat each individual has within him; the element that predominates in him will determine his characteristic behaviors.”
These are excerpts I chose explicitly for explaining the general term of Elements according to his book, however, out of all the sources he goes into this topic the most extensively. You will find the general history of this topic, as well as a very thorough explanation of it and its applications in Astrology, in his book.
As a reference for myself, I've been making a list of books related to Astrology. This list is not complete and may be updated or edited in the future (for example I would love to find more books on Vedic Astrology), or there are books here that I don't actually want to recommend.

As an other half to notes on the Astrology Forecast of May from the Astrology Podcast, I also wanted to write down the predictions that they got correct and which transits they were. Additionally, they also tend to realise trends that happen during these aspects in retrospect, so even though they may not have predicted it, I think it's also good to note down. I think this would help especially if you yourself would like to try and make your own mundane astrology predictions.
Please note that these are events in mundane astrology. This means that the other aspects are very much valid and may have had a significant change on your own life personally. However, important transits in your own natal astrology doesn't mean the aspect will be significant in mundane astrology. In addition, these were topics that were covered in the Astrology Forecast video. It could very well be possible that there were other news cycles that could have correlated that were not mentioned in the episode.
Anyway let's get to it, what were the things that were correctly predicted or patterns found in retrospect?
Saturn conjunct Neptune ♈️ (exact April 4th, still active)
"you or people around you may not really know what’s going on, holding the wrong person accountable...fanaticism"
Even though they didn't explicitly state it during the episode, they noted that during Saturn Neptune conjunctions there tends to be a rise in the anti-occult, anti-secret society, anti-magic and anti-astrology movements. On May 12th one of the leaders in India promoted an Astrologer to government, leading to backlash from the religious and scientific communities. In a way, this reminds me of their statement of "holding the wrong person accountable" and fanaticism. After all, one of the meanings of fanaticism is "Excessive intolerance of opposing views".
"feeling of internal tension...bubble popping, something being torn apart"
During this period there seems to be a growing sentiment against AI. Most strikingly, on April 10th it was reported that someone threw a Molotov cocktail and Sam Altman's house, the founder of Open AI. I think this sentiment has been growing for a while and is now starting to publicly show under this transit.
Mars♈️ square Jupiter♋️(May 4th)
"significant exchanges, explosions, breaking deadlocks, paces start to quicken, acting more decisively"
US forces destroyed 6 Iranian boats and an explosion happened at a fireworks factory in China (chart at 4:43pm local time - Guandu China).
Mars♉️ square Pluto♒️(May 21st-May 29th)
"forceful, decisive, action-oriented but tend to take it too far...surprise violence"
During this period we have seen US do strikes on Iran, as well as escalation of attacks in Ukraine by Russia.
Explosions
There also seems to be this theme of explosions with a gas explosion happening in a coal mine in China on May 22nd, a chemical implosion at Longview Washington, and a test at Blue Origin failing with a rocket blowing up during testing.
Anti-AI Sentiment and Uncovering Underbelly Topics
Pluto in Aquarius seems to generally bring the topic of AI more to the table, however in this period it also spoke of the possible negative implications of AI. Notably Pope Leo wrote an encyclical about AI on May 25th, who also apologised for the churches late realisation on slavery. On the same day an environmental activist also wrote an article about how AI data centres were ruining the environment, and how they were secretly being chosen over the people in the USA by their own government. Personally, I also saw that a popular tech commentary podcast known as TheStandup made an episode titled Recovering from AI Psychosis which was released on May 22nd.
The June Astrology Forecast came out a bit late this month sooo this is also coming out a bit late this month 😅 but that's alright~ here are my notes on the upcoming transits of June 2026 :)
June 3rd - Mercury♋️ Neptune♈️ Square: tricky day for communication, miscommunication, tendency for communication to not be true, thinking idealistically temporarily but also possibly more anxiously.
June 9th - Mercury♋️ Saturn♈️ Square, Venus Jupiter Conjunction ♋️ (applies for the first two weeks of June): your cancer house could possibly go more positively or have more of an upswing, good for relationships, reconciliation & peacemaking. Like an extended hug. :), collective high spirits with competitive events (such as the World Cup on June 11th), celebrity can come into play during this time. Final part of fixing things that were broken in Mars retrograde in Cancer last year from late 2024 to early 2025
🌚New Moon in Gemini♊️: vibe shift! people taking actions now that they might need to revisit in the Mercury retrograde, opens up the Gemini chart of personal charts. Conjuncts the US Mars, so it is possible that it is opening a door to something specifically for the US.
June 17th - Venus♌️ Pluto♒️ Opposition: brings something positive on a personal level, can amp up personal magnetism, jealousy or power struggles. Underworld struggles to relationships or love, beautiful things against plutonian things - but Pluto can act underhanded or secretive. The usual Pluto things like obsessions or a hard time letting go after a relationship has ended. There maybe attention on individuals standing out vs. the collective.
June 21st - Sun enters Cancer♋️: on a personal level you can feel more protective of self and others, a good time for nostalgia, and can also reactivate your cancer house.
June 25th - Sun♋️ Neptune♈️ Squares: fogginess
June 18th - Mars Uranus Conjunction ♊️ + Mercury starts to retrograde♋️ (period: June 17th-July 19th): "Revoking" may happen due to Jupiter about to conjoin with Mercury but then Mercury retrogrades (intended matters shift due to accidental circumstances, breaking a promise, disloyalty, going back on one's word, changing one's mind, inability to commit to plans). Could be incredibly important for US history, sudden unexpected (and unfortunately violent) events, rebellions, liberation of oppressed people, massacres, violent attacks. Unveiling of technology and technological weapons. Generally many things happening at once.
Might be an important transit for countries born in the Mars Uranus conjunction such as USA, Venezuela, Cuba, Lebanon - US also made a deal to China that they would get Taiwan from Japan in this transit. It can also be influenced with Uranus transiting through Gemini
June 30th - Jupiter ingress into Leo♌️ (will be one year in Leo): expands personal Leo house topics positively, expansion of creativity and externally expressed warm, feeling of expansion vs. going deep + a 🌕Full Moon in Capricorn♑️ can bring intensity during this time as well.
And there was the lowdown of the transits of June 2026 from the Astrology Podcast! Do you have predictions of your own with these transits in mind? Feel free to comment down below with your thoughts and opinions :)
Until the next monthly forecast, may you enjoy the witty, fun, versatile mercurial pace of the Gemini season (especially with that Uranus in there!) ♊︎🤩
Here are some astrology tools that I think are cool and are helpful to know for the astro curious. :) Also, not sponsored, but I think it's always nice to point out the wonderful and innovative stuff people have done for aiding in astrology.
This list may be updated later with more wonderful stuff fyi!
Hermetikon
A website that contains a vast collection of public domain esoteric texts. In addition to this, they have astrology tools such as daily transits, and calculators for retrogrades, planetary returns, a whole lot more.
astro.com
I feel like sure, if you are into Astrology, you probably already know this website by now. But I wanted to shout this one out specifically because I feel like it's the most reliable Astrology website compared to other ones we know. You can create all kinds of astrological charts, save charts, their Today & Tomorrow Forecast is pretty darn accurate, and if a celebrity chart is there it is a general rule of thumb that you know the chart is accurate. If you don't know it or use it yet, I can only recommend it!
AstroMatrix
There are many astrology phone apps, but this one is my favourite. Full of vast types of information for free, you can also keep several charts on it, and you can either pay a subscription or pay a one-off fee to get rid of advertisements. There are also several different chart types available like whole sign houses, synastry, transit readings and a whole lot more. It is an iOS app, not too sure if it's available on Android.
Honeycomb Collective's Personal Astrological Almanac
A personal natal and mundane transit planner, which is helpful if you want to keep track of personal or world events happening in your life. I think this is extremely helpful for anyone taking their astrological studies seriously especially in terms of transit and aspect readings - it's the perfect place for writing your astrology notes and is available in both paperback and pdf.
Astrology Ephemeris
There are many reasons to read an astrological Ephemeris, but the main one I find interesting to note is how each day once you were born represents the sort of flavour that year in your life is. Essentially, this means one day equals to one year of your life, and this one day starts from the day you were born. With this method it's interesting to note how some years of your life can feel "piscean" and then the years after suddenly start having this sort of Aries flavour to it. In this sense, it is an interesting broad form of divination.
Apart from this it is also helpful for predicting transits, lunar progressions, aspects, and a whole lot more. It is an extremely helpful astrology device and really recommend the use of it. If you would like to know more about it I recommend The Astrology Podcast's video on how to read an Ephemeris
We may already know that the zodiac signs are based on constellations in the sky - but did you know that they actually represent different sections of the sky across the ecliptic? When you view a southern or northern hemisphere sky map, you will see that they form a circle and we see them in the same order as they are in the zodiac that we know.
Northern Hemisphere Sky Map
Southern Hemisphere Sky Map
This in fact is not a coincidence! The Babylonians originally recognised 18 constellations along the ecliptic, but later focused on the 12 most important, which were adopted by the Greeks and align with the constellations still used in the West today. As Babylonian astronomers became more concerned with mathematical precision, they regularised these into 12 equal signs of 30 degrees each, forming the zodiac as a structured celestial system.
Then came the Greeks. It was the ancient Greeks who named these 12 star signs after constellations, linked them to specific dates based on their alignment with the sun's orbit, and gave us the very word "zodiac", from the Greek zōdiakos kyklos, meaning "circle of animals." However, the Babylonians and Ancient Egyptians did have their own name for the constellations as well (such as Aries also being known as "staff" and Pisces also being known as "tail", probably referring to them closer to the way their actual constellations look like).
The first known depiction of the classical twelve-sign zodiac is the Dendera zodiac, a relief dating to around 50 BCE, discovered in a chapel dedicated to Osiris in Egypt. The system was then immortalised by the Greek-Egyptian scholar Claudius Ptolemy, whose Tetrabiblos laid the foundations of the Western astrological tradition - rationalising the planets, Houses, and signs of the zodiac in a form that has changed remarkably little to the present day.
A Star Constellation Map showing both the North and Southern Hemisphere together. If you look at the equator line, you can see the Zodiac constellations in chronological order.
I've always wanted to read a post about this, so I thought hey, why not do it myself I guess haha. Do you have other Astrological history or tidbits that you're curious about? I would love to know. :)
I am a man: little do I last
and the night is enormous.
But I look up:
the stars write.
Unknowing I understand:
I too am written,
and at this very moment
someone spells me out.
- Octavio Paz, Brotherhood: Homage to Claudius Ptolemy
Urania, meaning "heavenly" or "of heaven" in Ancient Greek, was the Muse of both astronomy and astrology in Greek mythology. In the ancient world, the two were inseparable: reading the stars meant reading destiny. The Roman poet Statius (Thebaid, 1st century CE) captures this directly, describing Urania as having "long foretold his death by the position of the stars" - explicitly noting she presided over astrology.
Said on a papyrus containing remnants of a poem that is probably the carmen astrologicum elegiacum of the legendary Egyptian astrologer Anoubion - an introduction to astrology and horoscopes. He says the above, among other things.
