Howdy folks! I had the opportunity to draw art for The Hawthorne Effect, a fic written by the lovely @anxso for @ygobigbang's mini bang event!! <3 I enjoyed reading this alternate take on the 5Ds canon so very much, Anx did such a stellar job with changing the story up in a way that was compelling and made it feel as though it could have happened! I love this boi so very much and this could be projection but I deeply feel heās aroace in like a ā most likely sense for him?? If not, DEFINITELY gotta be somewhere on the ace spectrum and doesnāt really think deeply on the gender of others or like necessarily fantasize about being in a relationship. (I feel it would be organic and feel right if he were to get into one.) Iām just not sure if heād be proactive or reactive! I could see him confessing to someone it just wouldnāt be in a traditional way IR heād like casually say āI like you. All lot more than I realized.ā IDK
To me, and this could be bc heās the protagonist naturally, he just clicks with many ppl. His adversaries often turn into friends and I think itās bc that while he can be blunt with ya, heās got the biggest heart coming thru his actions. He wants everyone to benefit from the fruits of science and discovery, and that makes him so magnetic! Heās a beautiful soul!! And while idk yet what happens to him once Dr Stone concludes, I looooove the idea of who he could end up with. I also just really love some of these ships, canon or not!!
Something I adore about Senku is how he always makes some kind of deal about the hypothetical of kissing another guy, flirting with guys, etc. like I donāt for a second think he feels that

They were my very first dcst ship woof I have the biggest soft spot for this ship bc itās SO messy and then itās notā tell me how Iām supposed to look the other way when you have Tsukasa having some deep feeling for Senku (killing him, wanting to be his friend, preparing everything to stop them, then becoming his steadfast allyā) LIKE and Senku doing EVERYTHING to keep him alive???? I just canāt with these two they make me absolutely ill. I could see them being together forever very easily and I loved how they went from being allies to enemies to friends to lovers
I canāt get over how Senku forgave and trusted Tsukasa to grow past his actions. These two have such profound effects on each other and I really treasure that.

THESE TWO!!! They captured my heart as well simply because they feel like they were made for each other on some levels. I LOVE how they each know whatās rattling around in the others heart of hearts at the end of the day and their actions towards each other/bigger overall goals are so aligned and sweet. Iām a sucker for Gen already being captivated by Senku before meeting him, and how Senku sees thru Genās antics and knows his real intentions. Theyāre so goofy and silly and I love that about them too.

ONE OF FAVORITE M/L COUPLES IN SHOUNEN SERIES simply bc Kohaku is so fricken darling I adore her!!! Sheās so unapologetically herself and I feel that makes her and Senku a great match as heās the same way. I admit, I do love them as just best friends more than in a romantic context but I think of all the girls in the series, these two make the most sense to me?? They are ride or die for each other no matter what.

Another pairing that does feel like they were made for each other to me ššš I canāt think of anything better than being with someone whoās just as interested in the same thing you dearly love. I love when they riff ideas off each other, and how they genuinely inspire too.

THIS IS SO MESSY IN A FUN WAY FOR ME. I love Luna A TON, more than I thought I would have!!! Sheās fun to me bc sheās like. Performative AND genuine and in a way thatās similar but different to Gen. In the context of that and this pairing, I truly think itās adorable how much she likes Senku. I believe her feelings for him are real but my thing isāi think she does really like guys and find them attractive, specially guys like Senku, but itās one of those things where I feel sheād date him and go āoh.ā You know??? Not bc Senku isnāt her type perse or thatās heās not still lovely to her. I feel this would likely apply to a lot of things, not just he relationship. She has a habit of building up smth to be bigger and high up on a pedestal and I feel she gets disillusioned with her big interests in practice. BUT HER HEART is always in the right place and thatās why I think scaling back is helpful here. I think sheād need to be friends with him for a long time and mature a little for them to work but also if could see Senku being the person who helps her self discover a few things (that maybe she likes womenā). I think itās cute for Senku to be this adored by someone, could be stronger if she gets to know him more past the illusions she has š„³
Senku/Yuzuriha/Taiju
They are so platonic to me I just canāt envision it, both as a poly relationship and then individually letās say. I think theyāre just too close in their friendship in a way where romance progressing wouldnāt feel natural?? (Like for me, ChromeSen has that friendship element that could translate into smth romantic after years of getting closer in a way where these donāt feel that way to me)
But I truly feel the platonic handholding, sleeping together, doing about everything is so viable for these three ugh I do love them quite a lot for all of that. I donāt think some of the other Senku friendships touch the way these three feel special in my mind, itās probably that from childhood connection that does it.

I MEAN Am I wrong for this cause I donāt think so personallyā could be funā I donāt have exactly many big thoughts here so I might think on it some more hmm
