I can’t believe I whipped this together in a couple of days. Living my Greco-Roman myth dreams as Cupid, God of Passionate Love, Son of Ares & Aphrodite. ♥️ Lately, I’ve been rereading the story of Cupid & Psyche, falling in love with their love story; Cupid’s one time where he used his bow on himself, how she grown to love him, the broken promise, and how much she went through to win him back to realize that he had always truly deeply love her against Aphrodite’s wishes 😤 ♥️ “She fills my heart with very special things With angels’ songs, with wild imaginings She fills my soul with so much love”

I’m so excited to say that I will be a cosplay guest at @holidaymatsuri this year. WUT?! This was a dream I placed away cause I never thought it would happen. Thank you to HolMat for striving for diversity & inclusion in guests. In a deep discussion with a friend, it donned on us that we never got to see anyone who look like us. Now a new cosplayer can see me: Asian, male, not conventionally hot & muscular, specializes in non-armor, and know it can be them one day. To be honest, I never finished a Kingdom Hearts game, and that’s on Riku being difficult as heck boss in the first one 🙃. 💖 I felt myself emotionally matured this year. It’s a lot of moving on and not letting things bother me anymore. Being a featured creator and have 5 of my creations in the hallowed galleries of the OMA, next to 15th century paintings, is something I’d never expect to actually happened.

Thank you so much to @form2fashion for believing in me. I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for them. This collaborative partnership with @orlandomuseumofart was me in my zone, my happy place. Tha j you to @miss.kookie.munster & @superspookyyy for helping me with the set up/breaking down, and hanging out with me among the whispering paintings. Thank you so much to everyone who was there for me, in person or spirit. I was a boy who got to have a Cinderella moment.

Cruella DeVil “THE PAST” gown by Duy Truong

Oh my gosh! I’m so rarely active on my Tumblr anymore. I’m only on Instagram now. Please check me out there as I post more of my work on that platform.

The queen is dead! LONG LIVE THE QUEEN!

I finished Cruella’s THE PAST imperial gown last night and I can’t describe how emotional I am about it. The moment this gown appeared in the trailer, I fell head over heels. The statement! Vivienne Westwood x Alexander McQueen! The empress establishing her conquered empire!

I reinterpreted a few things with my rendition. The large petals are now large organza pleats - 810 yards worth. I changed the silver belt to a sash of safety pins; it was something young Estella would adorn on herself as well as frequent fashion statement from the 70’s punk era.

My favorite part of this entire ensemble are the epaulettes, which I had the best time making with all of the variety of trims and figurines, and “The Past” banner. Like Cruella, I adorned this jacket with any trinkets I had, and made the entire thing in a short time frame and CHAOTICALLY.

This is the first costume I’ve made with my new @janomeamerica machine. And it’s been a whole blessing to have. Without it, I wouldn’t have completed it as fast as I did with all of its features. Thank you Janome for making such a trooper.

Jane Austen’s LOVE, SIMON (a Regency film) Happy early Valentine’s Day! Imagine Love, Simon... but Regency ♥️♥️♥️ This little fun project was a labor of love. It has always meant to be something quick and fun or TikTok, but then I ended up writing a script, casting roles, came up with scene directions, a director of photography and a whole editing program. I can’t thank everyone involved enough! Especially @the.dapper.daniel who did so much. The title of Director of Photography only scratches the surface of the work he did.
