Winter brings many things forth: the holiday feast, a break from the countless essays assigned and of course, snowfall. This winter night, however, snow wasnโt floating down to coat the turrets of Hogwarts. Rain fell from dark clouds looming high above the glowing castle. Rough stone and steely roofs became slick as more and more mist sprayed from the skies. In the distance, the trees of the forbidden forest could be seen; glistening as if from a fairy tale. Droplets coated windows like fresh dew, adorning the cold building with showery jewels, making it seem like a castle fit for royalty.ย
You were no noble - simply a student, attempting to finish an assignment before the storm of holiday work was thrown your way. Though it was due in about a weeks time, you were determined to finish the assigned potions work tonight. Professor Snape seemed particularly miffed in the halls earlier, and you were almost certain his annoyance would be taken out on his students via an excessive amount of work due the very next day. You refused to be one of those poor souls pulling an all-nighter, conjuring up cups of bitter coffee left and right. That being said, you wished for nothing more than to warm up near the warmth of the fire in your common room. Instead, you were seated on one of the libraryโs hard chairs, the wood backing digging uncomfortably into your back if you remained in one position too long.ย ย
