          the  smells  of  grilled  meat  ,  fresh  breads  and  warm  soups  tickled  the  senses  .  and  made  rand's  stomach  growl  .  flushing  ,  rand  hurried  to  choose  a  two  -  person  table  in  a  corner  where  they  were  least  likely  to  be  bothered  ,  and  quicker  still  to  fetch  their  meals  once  all  was  paid  for  and  settled  .  two  pumpkin  soups  .  and  tea  .  iced  .

          ❝  a  ‘  clinic  ’  ?  ❞  rand  echoed  ,  watching  spices  pool  in  the  well  of  his  spoon  .  oranges  ,  reds  and  browns  .  he  supposed  he  only  had  one  comparison  .  ❝  in  the  two  rivers  we  just  have  a  wisdom  .  her  name  is  nynaeve  .  ❞

⋆˙⟡ :- Lilith was grateful that he had agreed to come with her, not that this place was as quiet as the fields where they would share their picnics. But what mattered the most to her was being in his company. She nodded excitedly, blowing air across her spoon to cool the orange colored soup before answering his query.

" Yes! Well, kind of a clinic. Not like a hospital or a store called a pharmacy. " She tried to explain, the soup in her spoon growing cold as she spoke. " Whenever I am wondering about the towns and making my rounds , I often find myself healing many of those who face all manner of affliction . "

For a brief moment, she finally brought the soup to her mouth, humming softly as the pumpkin and spices danced along her taste buds. " I simply felt that it would be better to have a location where people could come to when they needed aid , and could find me easily ! I also intend on creating herbal remedies and medicines . Oh , it will be a lovely place ; I am certain of it . " She laughs softly, taking another bite of soup between her rambling.

" I want all those who visit to feel comforted and cared for . A place of rest and healing for any who need it . Where I am from , many people would come to the church . They would form a line , and I would heal all of them . "

She looked to Rand, a spark of curiosity in her eyes as he spoke of his home. " A wisdom ? Is that the title for someone who performs healing for your town ? What is Nynaeve like ? "

𝐇𝐎𝐖  𝐂𝐎𝐔𝐋𝐃  𝐎𝐍𝐄  𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊  wound  him  like  a  thousand  knife  cuts  ?  one  look  .  merely  a  passing  shadow  on  her  face  ,  and  the  same  as  the  hesitant  ,  worried  glances  shared  between  nynaeve  and  egwene  ,  when  they  thought  he  wasn't  looking  .  sometimes  when  they  didn't  mean  to  .  rand  thought  he  would  rather  die  on  the  spot  than  see  that  same  look  on  lilith's  face  too  .  but  there  it  was  ,  wielding  thousands  of  cuts  .  and  her  saccharine  sentiments  did  too  .  rand  could  have  laughed  if  didn't  HURT  SO  MUCH  .  he  could  have  laughed  because  it  did  .

         anger  was  a  ball  of  fire  in  his  chest  .  it  hovered  there  .  suffocating  .  uncomfortable  .  he  almost  had  half  of  a  mind  to  simply  tell  lilith  to  save  her  words  altogether  .  Light  ,  man  !  She's  your  friend  .  And  you're  too  bloody  busy  being  angry  to  spare  even  half  of  a  brain  to  listen  .  He  blinked  and  watched  while  lilith  breathed  .  his  fingers  dug  into  his  palms  while  she  continued  .  I  don't  want  to  be  angry  .  I  didn't  used  to  feel  so  angry  .  it  WAS  only  anger  ,  wasn't  it  ?  so  ,  so  much  anger  .  .  .  and  hardly  lilith's  fault  .

          swallowing  his  tongue  ,  rand  forced  himself  to  settle  and  regain  some  semblance  of  composure  .  he  could  force  the  anger  down  .  even  if  it  meant  wrestling  with  it  .  it  wasn't  so  different  from  plunging  every  fear  ,  every  feeling  ,  into  the  void  .  or  struggling  against  the  torrential  froth  and  vile  slick  of  saidin  .

          ❝  .  .  .  i'm  sorry  .  i  didn't  know  .  i  didn't  mean  .  .  .  ❞  rand  frowned  and  felt  his  face  burning  .  he  dropped  his  gaze  to  the  floor  ,  to  the  soles  of  his  shoes  and  the  crack  in  the  pavement  that  was  suddenly  far  more  interesting  .  ❝  i'm  not  busy  .  though  i  would  understand  if  your  offer  no  longer  stood  .  ❞

⋆˙⟡ :- The shifting torrent of rapids that were Rand's emotions was nothing if not confusing to her. One moment he was accusing her, and the next his cheeks flushed in embarrassment. Her eyes ever once left his, she watched the storm that stirred in the cold grey.

The silence stretched between them, the marketplace humming around them as though there was nothing wrong in the world. After a few moments, Lilith released the breath she had been holding. She shook her head, smiling once more.

" Oh, Rand... It is alright. " She chuckled softly. Slowly, carefully, she stepped closer to him, trying to find his eyes while he looked away from her. Keeping her gaze upon him, she reached for the sleeve of his clothes, careful not to touch him. ( wanting to bring him back to her. )

" My offer always stands for you. " She smiled, tugging him slightly before letting go. Her hands clasped behind her back, just as light and cheerful as she always was.

" I simply enjoy spending time with you. It really has been far too long. " She nodded, and soon enough began to walk. Her head turned to him, looking to see if he followed and to give him a warm smile. " Do you enjoy soups, Rand? There is a place near that makes a lovely pumpkin soup that I rather enjoy. "

⋆˙⟡ :- " I have noticed something about you, Uriah . . . " Lilith begins, the ocean breeze whipping her braid behind her and the skirts that she wore. It was a gorgeous summer day, with a bright and shining sun and the laughter of families playing along the shore.

The two of them were resting on a bench along the pier, under the shade, while observing the little figures of people playing in the water even after the festival had passed. In her hands was an ice cream, a rare treat that he had insisted he get for her. She had protested, but before she could do anything, it was in her hands.

" You are always looking towards the water whenever we are together . " She looked to him, her eyes searching his. " But you never go further than that . Why is that ? "

A few months had passed since the mission to Ocellus Isle, and a few weeks since Dan Heng had returned from his own solo-visit in the aftermath. It hadn't gone as well as he'd hoped... in that, he hadn't been able to learn much before the alarms had sent him retreating to the space anchor he'd pinned in a secluded spot along the shoreline.

He did manage, however, to obtain some soil and water samples, which he brought back to analyze with the help of the university's equipment.

It was a bit of a side-project, something to pass the time while he contemplated his next moves. Testing the levels of toxic compounds in the samples, trying different methods of neutralizing them. Though the process was rather particular, and a little tedious, eventually he'd found some success.

And so, recalling the events of the rescue mission, he thought it might be nice to share this particular success with another.

⋆˙⟡ :- Lilith's phone buzzed. Though she was in the middle of her latest sewing project, she always made sure to answer the little device as soon as possible. One never knew if a friend could be in distress and needed her help. A smile warmed her face, seeing it was from Dan Heng! Indeed, it had been some time since they had last spoken.

His invitation brightened her smile. Her mind raced as she thought of the possibilities of what he could be doing. There was very little that she knew of him, but perhaps this was an opportunity to change that.

And indeed, in an hour she was knocking upon his door. She carried a basket of baked goods in her hand and a warm smile on her face. Despite her standing still, she could not hide the fact that her chest was breathing rapidly and a sheen of sweat covered her brow.

" Good afternoon ! I apologize for my delay , but I have brought gifts for you ! " She proudly held up the basket to him, doing her best to breathe through her nose and settle her racing heart. " I am eager to see what you have spoken of ! Pray tell , what is it all about ? "

𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐓  𝐇𝐀𝐃  𝐁𝐄𝐄𝐍  𝐎𝐍  𝐏𝐔𝐑𝐏𝐎𝐒𝐄  ?  rand  thought  ,  brow  furrowing  .  if  it  was  meant  to  have  been  a  secret  ,  then  it  had  been  marvelously  well  kept  .  what  rand  did  not  understand  was  why  she  could  not  have  just  asked  for  him  ,  if  that  had  been  the  case  .  women  were  always  over-complicating  matters  that  really  had  no  need  to  be  CONVOLUTED  .  then  they  complained  men  were  obtuse  for  just  trying  to  understand  how  one  of  their  points  connected  to  another  .  slowly  ,  still  off  -  guard  ,  rand  found  himself  speaking  before  he  had  spent  much  time  thinking  about  it  .  ❝  no  ,  i'm  not  busy  .  .  .  ❞  it  was  only  after  the  words  had  left  his  mouth  that  a  different  thought  struck  at  him  ,  and  it  was  not  a  thought  that  rand  liked  .

               it  wasn't  just  that  it  was  obtuse  .  in  the  end  a  woman's  questioning  was  was  the  same  as  leading  a  hare  into  a  trap  ,  especially  if  she  could  Channel  .  and  in  the  end  the  hare  hardly  knew  the  danger  it  was  really  in  until  the  snare  had  closed  around  its  neck  .  lilith  said  she  could  not  Channel  .  still  ,  it  was  all  the  same  ,  woven  in  parallel  to  one  another  .  this  was  one  of  those  such  trap  questions  ,  wasn't  it  ?  the  kind  meant  to  close  all  around  him  .  he  could  see  it  plainly  now  ,  and  this  time  rand  could  nearly  FEEL  the  snare  as  it  settled  its  weight  around  his  neck  .  rand  ground  his  teeth  together  . 

            suddenly  ,  rand  felt  colder  than  he  had  a  second  ago  .  why can no  one  ever  be  honest  ?   ❝  did  they  send  you  ?  are  you  supposed  to  convince  me  to  come  back  ?  ❞

⋆˙⟡ :- She could feel the thunder in his words. The first hints of those darkened clouds were already proving to be true. What had spurred the suggestion, Lilith could hardly fathom. She had already spoken her truth, but he did not listen. Her head tilted, her brows furrowing once more.

" N- no ? Rand , what are you speaking of ? " She stammered, shaking her head in earnest. Just as quickly as it had appeared, so did the sunlight sparkles fade from her eyes. " It is as I have explained . I had noticed your absence from the farmlands , and they told me you had left . "

A weight had begun to form inside Lilith's stomach. There was nothing behind her words, and yet he regarded her as though she were dangerous.

" If . . . you truly do not wish to be there , no one should force you . Nor do I intend to convince you otherwise . " She paused, taking a deep breath. " Yes , I would seek you on purpose , but I come to you now because . . . -because I miss you , Rand . "

𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐃  𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐍𝐄𝐃  𝐀𝐓  𝐓𝐇𝐄  sound  of  his  name  on  the  wind  .  seeing  lilith  ,  rand  could  not  begin  to  tell  which  instinct  came  clearer  right  then  :  the  instinct  to  turn  and  walk  away  ,  or  to  greet  her  .  he  had  tried  so  long  now  to  avoid  her  .  and  he  had  succeeded  ,  mostly  .  how  long  had  it  been  ?  two  weeks  ?  more  ?  lilith's  hair  and  ribbons  streamed  in  the  wind  .  her  eyes  were  wide  and  glittered  that  strange  ,  purple  hue  like  a  gemstone  he  didn't  have  a  name  for  .  rand  spotted  her  ,  and  couldn't  quite  seem  to  stop  looking  at  her  .             whether  to  stay  or  go  ,  rand  didn't  have  long  to  long  think  about  it  .  in  the  moment  he  had  hesitated  to  commit  ,  lilith  had  all  but  BOUNDED  FORWARD  and  closed  the  distance  .  so  rand  stood  ,  limbs  stiff  ,  and  his  lips  half  -  way  crossed  between  a  grin  and  a  grimace  .  it's  nice  to  be  sought  after  .  the  thought  only  made  rand's  chest  knot  tighter  .

        ❝   i'm  sorry  .  i  didn't—   ❞  their  words  stumbled  over  one  another  .  quickly  ,  he  raised  his  hands  .  ❝   no  .  you  first  .   ❞  rand  regretted  that  decision  quickly  .  his  eyes  shifted  color  .  one  moment  ,  blue  as  a  clear  summer  sky  .  the  next  ,  dim  .  the  color  of  a  polished  stone  .  he  shifted  his  weight  from  foot  to  foot  . 

        ❝   everything's  alright  ,   ❞  he  said  .  the  words  all  felt  like  wooden  blocks  in  his  mouth  .  he  had  tried  not  to  think  about  fanalea  .  he  had  steered  far  clear  of  the  northern  steps  as  far  as  he  could  manage  it  ,  and  only  ventured  that  far  by  crossing  through  the  reserve  —  only  when  he  needed  to  .  hiking  too  long  ,  and  too  far  into  the  valley  agitated  the  wound  in  his  side  ,  although  most  times  rand  ignored  it  until  it  felt  like  he  was  going  to  split  open  like  a  pinched  pea  .  he  had  found  a  place  ,  though  .  that  made  it  all  worth  it  at  the  least  .  somewhere  to  use  when  he  .  .  .  for  later  ,  not  yet  .  not  yet  .   ❝   i  left  .  it's  nothing  to  do  with  them  .   ❞  rand  lifted  his  eyes  towards  fanalea  .  a  person  could  spot  the  mountains  from  near  everywhere  on  arcanus  .  it  was  hard  not  to  find  his  eyes  wandering  back  .  wondering  .  .  .  but  wondering  didn't  change  anything  .  i  had  to  leave  .  i  had  to  .  rand  looked  back  at  lilith  .  ❝   i  didn't  realize  you  were  looking  for  me  .   ❞

⋆˙⟡ :- The excitement upon seeing him at all quickly turned to something troubling instead. It was as though the warning of a coming storm were passing through his eyes, a shift in the sky that promised turmoil. Lilith studied the blue of his eyes, the turn of his head, the shifting of his feet, and the creases of his face.

She hummed softly, her smile drifting away as she considered. There was little else for her to do but believe his words, though in her heart she felt there was far more to understand. Perhaps his channeling had grown too much to bear, or he simply sought other things.

" Of course, I have been ! " Lilith shook her head, the smile returning, though her brows were furrowed. " I always looked for you whenever I would visit the farmers . " She paused, looking away from him for just a moment.

Lilith always looked forward to their little picnics where she would drag him away from whatever task he had set his mind to and enjoy what she had been given for the day.

" I only wished to hear your side... but if you have left, then that is your choice . " She nodded, mostly for herself. It was difficult to not feel a hint of disappointment, but Rand's happiness was far more important to her. " I will simply have to meet with you elsewhere ! " She resolved. " Will you join me for a meal? If you are not busy, that is. " Her eyes shone in the sunlight, practically begging him to accept her invitation.

⋆˙⟡ :- " Oh , Rand ! " Lilith gasped, shouting in the square as loud as she could. It was very important that she get his attention; she had been looking for him for some time now. There was a terribly urgent matter that they needed to discuss right away.

" There you are , I have been . . . -looking for you . " She panted, a little out of breath, having run up to him with incredible speed. She needed only a moment to steady herself. Slowly and deeply, she breathed in and out, calming down after the general excitement of finally seeing him.

" I had found out a few days ago that you are no longer working at the farmlands ! " She exclaimed to him, not angered by any means so much as she was surprised to hear the news. For weeks, she'd simply thought that he had taken up a new schedule or was not there as frequently as before. However, a few simple questions to the locals gave her the truth.

" Is everything alright ? They did not say you parted on ill terms but . . . surely something must have happened to motivate your departure ? You seemed so happy there . " She frowned softly, her eyes wide and searching his for the answer.

╰┈➤ AEVUM ISLES :: JUNE FESTIVAL ❂

Throughout the beginning of summer, Isle residents gather in multitudes during the day and night to celebrate the natural world and the communities that share it. Many traditions find Aercon and Echo alike visiting the shores of the Lunar Coast, cleaning up the environment, and showing goodwill to their neighbors with gifts and unique finds. Please refer to the ARCANUS ISLE COMPENDIUM for creature and plant references.

OVERVIEW:

The Sunflower Festival

The Sunflower Festival is a month long event taking place from the 1st till 30th of June. Although the festivities do not last for all of summer, residents of Arcanus Isle take great care to enjoy the welcoming of the warmer season.

Festivities take place during the daytime and nighttime. In the day, events like the Sunflower Parade or the Lunar Tournament are enjoyed in the Lunar Coast and Downtown Arcanus Districts. When the sun sets, the night comes to life with fireworks. The streets are bathed in the light of the Golden Moon, a phenomena that occurs during this month alone. (see: Notable Legends down below.)

The Solstice Ball

When the Golden Moon is full of light, the Solstice Ball begins. Taking place during the 17th - 30th of June, the ball is an glamorous party that all residents receive invitations to attend. Everyone is welcome to dress in their finest attire and enjoys the live music and provided refreshments.

While visiting the ball, it is encouraged to explore the Observatory and all that it has to offer. The parties begin when the sun sets and lasts until the next days dawn.

Like last year, the ball is hosted in the Viderenox Observatory. See HERE for details on the observatory.

NOTE: Other activities such as sea shell collecting, beach parties, garden parties and so on are all celebrated during the Sunflower Festival. While you may create member-run mini parties and events during the festival, only interactions with the listed activities/areas will be considered valid forms of festival participation.

ACTIVITIES:

For a limited time, a number of Sunflower Festival wares can be purchased (for free!) from the Aevum Marketplace using the Sunflower Festival Voucher.

Some of these wares include:

Shimmer and Glows Sprinkler - An endless sprinkler that sparks and changes color! They are also non-flammable. (found in the Nighttime Shimmers and Glows activity.) Lunar Rod - A gold-flaked fishing rod with a special tackle that is highly attractive to the local aevum fish. (found in the Lunar Tournament activity.) Fish Charm - A small charm in the shape of any fish, made from stones, shells, or wood. (found in the Fish Spy activity.) Olympic Flag - A one-of-a-kind flag with the icon of the sport participated in. (found in the Nighttime Shimmers and Glows activity.) Garden Bracelet - A custom bracelet made with several unique charms and beads of flowers. (found in the Charms of the Garden activity.) Keepers of the Land, Sky, and Sea Shirt - A cool, breathable t-shirt displaying the logo of the volunteer organization. (found in the Keepers of the Land, Sky, and Sea activity.) Homeworld Wares - An item that is custom to each Echo, and are subject to the rules detailed in the event below. (found in the Gateway Flea Market activity.) (New!) Golden Mask - A beautifully decorated and ornate masquerade mask. (found in the Solstice Ball activity.) (New!) Flower Pop - A little popping toy that releases flower petals in a grand display. It resets after a minute, being mysteriously filled with new petals. (found in the Sunflower Parade activity.)

Requests will be processed from June 20th - July 4th. All requests should include a link to the thread, ask, or drabble that shows the participation in said event, in addition to the stats, and thread pages.

Downtown Arcanus.

Sunflower Parade

One of the many highlights of the Sunflower Festival is the Sunflower Parade! It is a warm welcome to the summer sun and the influx of Ivurie Aether that comes with it. Downtown Arcanus has been decorated with balloons, paper sunflower petals, and plenty of other party decor (that are all fully recyclable). Music can be heard throughout the streets during the day. Especially nearby the Arcanus University campus.

During the cooler hours of the early evening, a parade of decorated floats are conducted by residents who choose to participate. These floats range from large to small, elaborate to simple, representing the residents of Arcanus and their love for their home.

As usual, to announce the event on her very own float is is Arcanus’ own Opal Luminous.

Notably, the East Tower Company and the West Tower Society are known to be highly competitive during the parade. Each year, they create more and more elaborate floats. The rumor has it that they may even be trying to outdo each other…. While the other rumor has it that they’ve even gone so far as to try and sabotage each other’s floats!

While many floats are crafted by various other notable figures and local businesses of Arcanus Isle, the Echoes are equally encouraged to create floats of their own for the parade. Or join in other floats to assist their performances. (Or sabotage other performances!)

Charms of the Garden

This activity is eligible for festival redemption.

A favorite activity amongst festival-goers is creating unique garden bracelet for their friends and family members. There are dozens of different ornaments to choose from, each with their own meaning. All ornaments for Charms of the Garden are created by students at Arcanus University, and the proceeds return to the school’s funding.

The charms provided are as follows:

The Lunar Coast.

The Lunar Tournament

This activity is eligible for festival redemption.

The Trawler Docks are open and bustling with activity! During this time of year, the ocean is flourishing with many forms of sea life. Some locals offer scuba diving tours of Arcus Cove’s coral reefs, while others will gladly rent out boats for other residents to enjoy the clear blue waters.

Of course, the docks are also host to the largest fishing competition of the year: The Lunar Tournament.

There are three main categories that one could enter into:

Biggest Fish (measured by weight and length)

Most Fish (measured by total weight)

Rarest Fish (judged by leading Marine Biologists of Arcanus Isle).

The competition has a catch-and-release policy upon completion of the final scoring.

Winners of each category will receive a cash prize of 1,000 keys, a trophy representing their category, and a brand-new fishing rod!

Primarily marketed towards families with younger children, Fish Spy is an event taking place in Arcus Cove. Participants are given a bingo card and taken out the coral reefs. There, they can snorkel in the waters while looking for many breeds of fish on their cards. (The cards are water proof!)

Successfully filled-out cards can be exchanged for a variety of fish charms.

Nighttime Shimmers and Glows

This activity is eligible for festival redemption.

In brilliant displays of wonder and light, a fireworks show is held every Sunday evening along Halycon Beach. Many gather all across the Lunar Coast just to watch the astonishing display. The firework shows change almost every night, with each display being more even grand than the last.

The show is hosted by Vander Bard of the Comet Promenade. Many enjoy watching the show on the Comets Ferris Wheel, especially with friends and loved ones.

Along the Comet Piers and Comet Promenade many shops offer great selections of fireworks, sprinklers, poppers, and plenty of fantastically sweet and savory treats the likes of fair foods.

The Clearview District.

Aevum Olympics 

This activity is eligible for festival redemption.

Attention all sports fans! Hosted at the Clearview Stadium is the most highly anticipated events of the Isle! The Aevum Olympics. Aercon from all over Arcanus joing together to compete in various sporting events and prove their mettle. Sporting events include but are not limited to:

Track and Field (split between marathon and half-marathon sprints)

Swimming

Wrestling and Boxing

Various sports (e.g., soccer, football, baseball, tennis, etc.)

Pole Vaulting

Gymnastics

Ice Skating

Ping Pong

and many others!

Note: The Olympics can also include sports from an Echoes’ homeworld.

All are welcome to come and spectate or participate! There’s just one universal rule:

No Cheating.

Cheaters will be forced to repeat their event against an Olympian Android. (Specifically, one designed by the event’s biggest sponsor, the East Tower Company.)

It never loses.

Of course, Aevum’s Tossup is one of the most popular sports. Over the spring, the four teams have been preparing endlessly for the playoffs that occur during this event. Now, it is finally time for the four biggest teams to compete for the championship title.

Fanalea District.

The Golden Harvests

No people are more excited about the Sunflower Festival than the residents of the Fanalean Farmlands, and Echoes are encouraged to join in! Beneath the Golden Moon, the Fanalean community ensures that their fields are fully revitalized for the coming crops to grow.

Plenty of help is wanted, and Fanalean farmers employ any volunteers to pick up a trowel to clear the fields of Whisper Thistles, care for livestock, harvest the last spring produce, sow summer seeds, and prepare some fields to lie fallow for the season.

Up to 500 keys per day will be offered to participating echoes.

At night, the workers watch in awe as fields of sunflowers begin to glow brightly across the fields, matching the Zephyr Lillies around them. The sunflowers absorb sunlight in their petals, and then under the golden moon, they glow a bright golden color.

Sunflower Feast

During Sunflower Festival, locals will often spend time experimenting with new dishes and flavors. When new recipes have been concocted, chefs of all calibre gather around the bonfire at the center of Fanalea to share them. In fact, the whole community comes together!

Sunflower is a key ingredient in many of the foods found. A glowing, golden tea - called Golden Cortania - is made from the petals of the sunflower. It is especially a fan-favorite. Tins can of Golden Cortania be bought from select shops in the Vesper Town Trading Post.

Keepers of the Lands, Skies, and Seas

As nature is the focal point of the Sunflower Festival, the Padedue Temple, Whisperwind Hacienda, and West Tower Society have combined efforts to create volunteer programs to help clean up and protect the natural world of Arcanus Isle. 

Each of the participating groups has a specific focal point for what they bring to the organization. The Hacienda is focused on education, the Padedue Temple is focused on volunteer work, and the WTS is responsible for funding and advertisements.

Information booths with petitions written by the West Tower Society will be posted all throughout Arcanus. Signers will pledge to protect the environment and spread awareness about ways residents can keep Arcanus Isle spick and span.

Those who sign on to the petition pledge will be made automatic volunteers, where they will be assigned a location to clear up any trash and resident-made debris. These trips involve waking up early, and are often an all-day event. Supplies are provided to the volunteers by the West Tower Society, and Willow Westson has designed a cool shirt with “Keepers of the Lands, Skies, and Seas” written on it. —They’re tie-dye!

Most volunteer work will be found along the Lunar Coast. Primarily: Halycon Beach, Arcus Cove and Arcus Reef. Downtown Arcanus’ Quill Pillar Shores, the Aether Reserve’s Moonview Springs, and any of the parks across Arcanus are also available as volunteer locations.

Merchant Town.

Gateway Flea Market 

This activity is eligible for festival redemption.

In the center plaza of Merchant Town, a giant, mysterious tent has appeared seemingly overnight! Instead of the various food stalls and market shops, there now sits a wondrous pavilion called the Gateway Flea Market.

This tent houses brand new stalls full of Aercon selling or trading their random assortment of goods to anyone who may find a home for them. 

While many of of the prices come cheap, many other items may only be acquired through trading specific items that may take hours to find. An Echo dead set on a ware may find themselves embarking on a long and arduous Exchange Quest.

Curiously, in some of these stalls Echoes may come upon strange wares. Instead of the usual bits and bobbles however, what makes these wares so strange is that they may be familiar to the Echoes themselves.

These items range from books and journals, to trinkets, toys, jewelry and clothes, tools, decorations, and other such similar items. As with any item, these come at a price, and some merchants drive a harder bargain than others. However, as the marketeers love to say: One man’s trash is another man’s treasure. 

Be warned if you see one of the Pyrite Pawners triplets! They are all ruthless in their pursuit of unique items to sell in their shop.

Note: The following restrictions apply: The Items can: - Be items that exist in an Echo’s native world - Be pulled from any point in time in the Echo’s world, regardless of an Echo’s current or potential canon points. - Be minor canon items, background items, and major canon items. The items cannot: - Be any belongings found on an Echo’s application, current or future. - be weapons or magical in any way. - be eligible for the Tier Four Homeworld Redemption item. - Be larger than a two-foot cube. - Be items that canonically belong to another character or from a world separate to their own. All items redeemed must not serve a largely important purpose. e.g., Bilbo Baggins could not find one of the Ten Rings. These items must be found in either thread or drabble form in order to keep them. In which, a brief description of what the item is, and may be used is required. The thread or drabble must be submitted to the Aevum Marketplace as proof for approval to put on one’s Stats page inventory. Requests will be processed from June 20th - July 5th.

Viderenox Observatory.

Solstice Ball

This activity is eligible for festival redemption.

During the last two weeks of June, the main event held inside the observatory is the highly anticipated Solstice Ball. At the twin moon’s apex, the ceiling of the conservatory opens, allowing for the light of the Golden Moon to shine upon the dancers below.

In order to attend, the invited must present their golden letter to the attendants at the gate. Inside, arrivals will find the well-decorated room full of people dressed in their finest, fanciest attire.

Attendants walk between guests with trays of drinks and hors d'oeuvre, though larger portions may also be found at the open bar and snack tables. The food has been catered by the famous Chef Trop Chere, owner of the Casa Nova restaurant. The featured wine is, of course, Honeyglow Meadery’s Sunflower Wine.

The telescope is also open to those who may wish for a closer look at the stars. Janus Astrophel can be found assisting visitors with the equipment and teaching them about Aevum’s galaxy. The studies and offices are closed during the event. Echoes who prefer to explore will find these doors have been locked. Fortunately, other exhibits may be explored, creating quieter areas of rest during the party.

Of course, the main activity of the ball is the dance!

A live orchestra fills the hall with beautiful music, while the dancers pair and waltz under the stars. In some of the dance numbers, the floor of the observatory matches the night sky above. In tandem with the floating star lights around the hall, this creates the appearance of literally dancing among the stars.

NOTABLE LEGENDS:

The Golden Moon

The twin moons of the Aevum Isles have always held a certain air of mystery to them. Most scholars agree that these moons are a symbol of Ebenos, while the sun represents Ivurie’s qualities. As Aerconi understanding of the Aether grows, studies have shown that during select periods of time, one Aether may influx so greatly that its influence may even reflects upon its counterpart.

One of these select periods is in the beginning of summer. During this time, Ivurie Aether burgeons so greatly that it reflects in the largest of the two moons, turning it bright golden color. As the light of the golden moon bathes Arcanus in its glow, it can be noted that plants grow much faster than usual, and the wildlife become more active and present in day-to-day lives.

Many speculate that this phenomena is the Aether replenishing itself in all forms of life. There is, after all, no other time of year where Aevum sunflowers glow as they do during the summer nights.

Now, residents of Aevum Isles look to the glowing, golden moon and her many stars for glad tidings, good luck, and rejuvenation.

⋆˙⟡ :- Lilith could only help but giggle slightly at the newcomer's Anna's gracious acceptance. She was quick to fall in step with her, ready and eager to show her every kind of delight that the isle had to offer. They walked side by side, sunshine practically radiating from the pair.

" oh , I like to think so ! " Lilith answered, though she paused ever so slightly as some past individuals came to mind. " though , some of us echoes take a little more time to become warmed up to . but once you get to know them , they bloom just like flowers do . " She did not wish to speak poorly of anyone.

After all, everyone had far different lives before they came here. They carried those experiences with them every day; she could not bring herself to offer anything less than patience and her own kindness for them.

" it is my pleasure , truly . " Lilith nodded affirmingly. " when I first arrived , i had experienced very little of the world outside of my church's walls . i am always delighted to offer aid . but first , you must tell me where you are from ! "

Though the Echoes of Padedeu Temple did not weave the sovenance threads themselves, there was still plenty they could do to assist with the process. Whether it was sorting materials or scheduling weaving sessions with those in attendance, it allowed Sunday to study the process, while also instilling that familiar feeling of accomplishment, the warmth that came from offering guidance, even in small ways.

Now, the final weaving sessions of the day were under way, leaving Sunday and Lilith to begin tidying the temple and sorting through the remaining threads.

This, too, was a rather fulfilling activity.

Sunday wound up the spools of silken thread and tucked in the ends, storing them in neat, careful rows. Before long, the temple would be restored to the way it was this morning, before the first patrons arrived-- neat and tidy, calm and quiet.

It was no wonder he often stayed rather late at night.

Though, the silence could also be somewhat uneasy-- so after a few moments more, Sunday decided to break it.

"Miss Lilith, do you plan on attending the candlelight passing as well?" he asked, picking up a few more spools of thread to wind up.

⋆˙⟡ :- Indeed, the task of restoring cleanliness to the temple was as fulfilling as the activities themselves. Or rather, at least Lilith found them to be. Such activities always invited some chaos to them; that much was unavoidable in service. In a way, cleaning was simply another ritual to recenter oneself in calmness.

Of course, such tasks were far easier when in the company of another. The two of them had been simply enjoying the quiet silence between the spools and the pieces that were put back into their right place. Lilith looked from her work to him, finishing the last of the arrangements of her task.

" i do ! " she answered with a smile and a quick nod. " though , I admit not for myself . i have been fortunate to not have lost a loved one . " She pauses quietly, closing the lid of the box of empty spools and setting them in place. " however , i offer support to those who may need it . grief is . . . well , it is easy to become consumed in it . "

Lilith's head tilts, a curiosity on her features as she regards him. " are you attending as well ? it is very beautiful to witness , even if you are not sharing love to those who have passed on . "

During his walk around the Reserve, Tethu sat on a log near a lake. He couldn't help but stay there as he stared at the shimmering waters and admired the cool blue hue. The sun was getting warmer, beating down on the flora. It's been more hot lately. And even though he was used to harsh sun, it never feels easier without shade.

But now.. He was hiding in the shade for a different reason.

While walking over there, he got attacked by some small birds! They were ruthless and hounded him like a pack of Sharkobras to a lonesome Leapard. The worst part.. They took his turban and headband! Those fiends practically ripped them off his head! So now, he's searching through the whole Aether Reserve for his turban and headband while hoping to not run into anybody.

Unfortunately, it was bound to happen. Tethu noticed the two eyes from across the forest while he was trying (and looked quite pathetic) to grab on a branch that could help him climb up.

"... U-Um.." He stutters, growing more bashful by the minute. "I, uh.. H-Have you seen a white and red cloth anywhere?"

⋆˙⟡ :- The voice brought her wanderings to a quiet halt. Lilith was always rather fond of her walks through the reserve, even if she was not with company at the moment. Being among the trees and wildlife was more than enough company for her. However, whenever she happened to encounter another soul, she did not hesitate to tend to them.

" oh ! well , hello there . " She chuckled lightly, her basket of flowers swinging at her side as she approached the one who spoke. Poor thing seemed in desperate need of some aid. ( and embarrassed to admit it. She felt a hint of sympathy in her heart for his plight. )

" i am afraid I have not seen a cloth at all . " She frowned, her eyes gazing around the clearing and seeing no object matching that description. " would you like some assistance ? i could ask the forest to show us the way to retrieve your item . "

She smiled softly, friendly and calm in the wake of his state. " it would be no trouble , i assure you , friend . this wood is rather large for one to search alone in it . "

"I'm okay! It'll take a whole lot more than that to knock me out!" Pit beamed, his wings fluttering, which almost made him lose his balance. But, he managed to not fall on his face again. Hey, progress! Though, he felt a bit silly that she's seen him eat ice on the rink. Possibly multiple times, though he can't help but be enamored at how fast you can skate.

"Yeah, probably! I can't say ice skating was much of a thing back home! But I kinda wish it was, haha!!" He laughs, feeling a warmth in his chest when he felt her fingers comb through his hair and graze through his scalp. He knows she's worried that he hit his head, but it's a little.. embarrassing? No, that's not right. He doesn't mind! It's honestly pretty nice.

"Your third? Woah, you've been here for a while! You must know this festival like the back of your hand!" He chirps with enthusiasm. "I know there's the harvest before, but do they throw a festival every season?"

⋆˙⟡ :- Lilith could not help but be warmed by the enthusiasm in which Pit conducted himself. The little winged boy was always so full of energy that it was contagious. In a way, he reminded her of how she used to be when she was younger. It was a wonderful thing to be full of life and spirit.

Affirming he was alright and unharmed, Lilith stepped back slightly to give him room to breathe. She hummed thoughtfully at his exclamation, chuckling slightly at his commentary.

" I have! I had first arrived in the autumn season. " She explained quietly, using her arms to balance as she stood on the ice in her skates. " They most certainly do! Every season is celebrated, after all, as Ivurie and Ebenos flow in and out of one another, so does the world around us. "

Lilith paused, wobbling slightly as she struggled to find her balance. Her laugh echoed in the cold winds around them as fun and cheer surfaced on this icy lake. " I must admit, however, I have never ice-skated upon this lake. I preferred in the past to participate in making dolls or volunteering with the St. Azalea foundation to pass out food during this cold time. " A pause. " What do you think of this one, so far? "
