WOOHOO!! Sunflower Festival time and you know what that means! Like for a Sunflower Festival Thread with Tethu! He can be found participating in these activities:
Charms of the Garden [Tethu will be making bracelets for the kind people he's met on Aevum! Also making a few extra for people back at his oasis!]
Fish Spy [The activity that will kick the hyperfixation at full swing! Lil guy is losing it at the many beautiful fish and would stay there day and night if it was allowed.]
Sunflower Feast [Tethu has a weakness to treats and his curiosity lures him to the feast. Especially pizza, he's never heard of that before!]
Keepers of the Lands, Skies, and Seas [Caring for plants and the area is quite therapeutic for him, but he also wants to help let the Reserve and all of Aevum to stay lush and not.. What that other island was.]
Gateway Flea Market [ There, he finds something from back home. something that he was shocked to behold and needs to get. Buut, it's going to be a challenge going against one of the Pyrite Pawner Triplets.]
Nighttime Shimmers and Glows [ Tethu would be awestruck at the sky, never seeing so many beautiful colors spark and dazzle the night. It's also his first time seeing a sparkler!]
During his walk around the Reserve, Tethu sat on a log near a lake. He couldn't help but stay there as he stared at the shimmering waters and admired the cool blue hue. The sun was getting warmer, beating down on the flora. It's been more hot lately. And even though he was used to harsh sun, it never feels easier without shade.
But now.. He was hiding in the shade for a different reason.
While walking over there, he got attacked by some small birds! They were ruthless and hounded him like a pack of Sharkobras to a lonesome Leapard. The worst part.. They took his turban and headband! Those fiends practically ripped them off his head! So now, he's searching through the whole Aether Reserve for his turban and headband while hoping to not run into anybody.
Unfortunately, it was bound to happen. Tethu noticed the two eyes from across the forest while he was trying (and looked quite pathetic) to grab on a branch that could help him climb up.
"... U-Um.." He stutters, growing more bashful by the minute. "I, uh.. H-Have you seen a white and red cloth anywhere?"
⋆˙⟡ :- The voice brought her wanderings to a quiet halt. Lilith was always rather fond of her walks through the reserve, even if she was not with company at the moment. Being among the trees and wildlife was more than enough company for her. However, whenever she happened to encounter another soul, she did not hesitate to tend to them.
" oh ! well , hello there . " She chuckled lightly, her basket of flowers swinging at her side as she approached the one who spoke. Poor thing seemed in desperate need of some aid. ( and embarrassed to admit it. She felt a hint of sympathy in her heart for his plight. )
" i am afraid I have not seen a cloth at all . " She frowned, her eyes gazing around the clearing and seeing no object matching that description. " would you like some assistance ? i could ask the forest to show us the way to retrieve your item . "
She smiled softly, friendly and calm in the wake of his state. " it would be no trouble , i assure you , friend . this wood is rather large for one to search alone in it . "
Just one look of her demeanor told him that, the way she carried herself with her heart in her sleeve. He felt a pang of guilt, troubling her with such a meaningless task that he can very much do himself. She says no trouble at all, but that cannot be true. This woman said it herself, the forest here is vast. But, wouldn't two pairs of eyes be better than one? He can feel the war blazing in his heart.
"I-If you're sure.. I promise, I-I'll reward you for your time! I'm sorry to bother you with this." He really should've known better. Maybe he should've studied the fauna more. Maybe he could've been more careful instead of wandering around? Then, he wouldn't have to burden this poor, kindly woman with his nonsense.
🍻-- He'd been dragged to one of the tea parties by some kids he had been entertaining. He couldn't say 'no' when it came to kids. Honestly, that had gotten him into a fair few sticky situations he'd rather not be in - from trekking babies across war zones to finding himself out doing Christmas shopping in overcrowded and overstimulating malls at Kitty's behest. Starting major fights with the team that left them torn in two, spending months re-training a teenager-turned-Wendigo to remember that he'd been human. They were kids, they should be able to have all the fun they liked (within reason).
But now those couple of kids had abandoned him at the table with giggles and of course Logan knew something was up, but... well, he'd stick around even if he was sniffing carefully at the tea. It was still disconcerting that he couldn't smell anything obviously off but he still had the feeling of it. Then again maybe he relied too much on his sense of smell, although he couldn't help that. It was the first thing he'd gone to for a very long time to tell him of anything.
That was when he looked up as he was spoken to. Oh. That kid he'd gotten home a while back. Tethu. He made a face down at the little plaque which said what kind of tea it was. "Got dragged here by some kids but it's fine, I like tea well enough."
He liked it better when he could identify what the spiced aroma coming out of the cup was. It smelled like cinnamon, but with a touch of cayenne pepper.
Perhaps too used to relying on his body being able to simply withstand poison or other problems, Logan took a tentative sip. It was warm, a little spicy, floral too. He grunted slightly and settled back in the chair, craning his head first back to look for those kids who he soon found were raiding another table - then he caught Tethu staring at honey cake (or rather everything available). After a moment, Logan reached out, putting a honey cake on the partially loaded little plate in front of Tethu. "You wanted that, right, kid? You should celebrate. Everyone else is."
It was fine to indulge once in a while. Especially for kids.
He looks over to the younger kids at the other table, practically devouring the treats and leaving not even a crumb left. Some kids had approached him as well, but it was moreso out of curiosity. It seems seedlings aren't really known here, since they were shocked by his horns (and his small height).
Tethu lets out an observant hum. Nostalgic, in a way. He used to be dragged into all sorts of things when he was younger, enough that Nour kept an eye on him with other kids. That was when he couldn't say no to anybody even if his life depended on it. But, he's done better since then! Heck, he can even- Oh!
Tethu immediately noticed the cake being placed on his plate by Logan, along with the comment that came with it. "I-I am! Don't worry, I am! I mean, not the first festival I've participated in, haha! Heheh..!" The seedling blurted out, flustered that he was essentially drooling over that cake so obviously that the older man noticed. Oh dear, that's embarrassing..!
"T-Thank you, um.. Logan, right? That's your name?"
🍻-- It was obvious that the kid wanted the cake even if he was trying to act like he didn't. Maybe Tethu hadn't wanted Logan to acknowledge it, but it was too late for that. The kid seemed pretty young, but that could've just been a trick of his size. All the same...
"I just mean you're young and you shouldn't be restraining yourself so much. Kids're should " He said it casually, sipping from the little teacup and still trying to get a read on exactly what flavors made up the tea he was drinking. It was weird. It seemed so dull without the usual ability to tell ingredients apart.
Those instincts he so relied on weren't saying that this was dangerous, but then again, without his senses, he'd been struggling to get that instinct to tell him much of anything. Everything just seemed like muddy water...
He glanced back towards the kids who had brought him here again but they'd moved on to elsewhere. Honestly, Logan was half-temped to just scoot back and leave when -- "T-Thank you, um.. Logan, right? That's your name?"
Logan slowly set the cup down. "Yeah. Logan. You're welcome, sprout."
Tethu smiles politely. "I'm sorry I couldn't introduce myself before. My name's Tethu! It's nice weather, huh? Perfect balance of cool winds and warm sun. It's perfect picnic weather!" Something he's admittedly not used to.
Back at home, the sun would scorch your skin if you stood out for too long, with the air so hot it was like inhaling fire. Or well.. That's how it was before. It still baffles him, how this place has plants traveling throughout the land. The water surrounding them and the pools locally found. All without an Oasis to help. Or was this place a bigger Oasis? Because past here is.. Well, a much less pleasant place.
He takes a bite of the honey cake, then practically hummed like a delighted kitten. "Oh, this is amazing! It's so sweet, but I've never tasted this kind of sweet flavor before! What is this?? It's not fruit, unless they have local ones I'm unaware of!" He's practically studying the pastry like he found gold in it. Which, to him, may be the case.
Throughout the beginning of summer, Isle residents gather in multitudes during the day and night to celebrate the natural world and the communities that share it. Many traditions find Aercon and Echo alike visiting the shores of the Lunar Coast, cleaning up the environment, and showing goodwill to their neighbors with gifts and unique finds.
Please refer to the ARCANUS ISLE COMPENDIUM for creature and plant references.
OVERVIEW:
The Sunflower Festival
The Sunflower Festival is a month long event taking place from the 1st till 30th of June. Although the festivities do not last for all of summer, residents of Arcanus Isle take great care to enjoy the welcoming of the warmer season.
Festivities take place during the daytime and nighttime. In the day, events like the Sunflower Parade or the Lunar Tournament are enjoyed in the Lunar Coast and Downtown Arcanus Districts. When the sun sets, the night comes to life with fireworks. The streets are bathed in the light of the Golden Moon, a phenomena that occurs during this month alone. (see: Notable Legends down below.)

While visiting the ball, it is encouraged to explore the Observatory and all that it has to offer. The parties begin when the sun sets and lasts until the next days dawn.
Like last year, the ball is hosted in the Viderenox Observatory. See HERE for details on the observatory.
NOTE: Other activities such as sea shell collecting, beach parties, garden parties and so on are all celebrated during the Sunflower Festival. While you may create member-run mini parties and events during the festival, only interactions with the listed activities/areas will be considered valid forms of festival participation.

Downtown Arcanus.
This activity is eligible for festival redemption.
Sunflower Parade
One of the many highlights of the Sunflower Festival is the Sunflower Parade! It is a warm welcome to the summer sun and the influx of Ivurie Aether that comes with it. Downtown Arcanus has been decorated with balloons, paper sunflower petals, and plenty of other party decor (that are all fully recyclable). Music can be heard throughout the streets during the day. Especially nearby the Arcanus University campus.
During the cooler hours of the early evening, a parade of decorated floats are conducted by residents who choose to participate. These floats range from large to small, elaborate to simple, representing the residents of Arcanus and their love for their home.
As usual, to announce the event on her very own float is is Arcanus’ own Opal Luminous.
Notably, the East Tower Company and the West Tower Society are known to be highly competitive during the parade. Each year, they create more and more elaborate floats. The rumor has it that they may even be trying to outdo each other…. While the other rumor has it that they’ve even gone so far as to try and sabotage each other’s floats!
While many floats are crafted by various other notable figures and local businesses of Arcanus Isle, the Echoes are equally encouraged to create floats of their own for the parade. Or join in other floats to assist their performances. (Or sabotage other performances!)
Charms of the Garden
This activity is eligible for festival redemption.
A favorite activity amongst festival-goers is creating unique garden bracelet for their friends and family members. There are dozens of different ornaments to choose from, each with their own meaning. All ornaments for Charms of the Garden are created by students at Arcanus University, and the proceeds return to the school’s funding.
The charms provided are as follows:
Echo Tree Nut ( peace in change )
Field Fish Feather ( brings good people into your life )
Sapeng Wool ( aid with memories )
Moonview Spring Stones ( rejuvenation )
Lunar Coast Shells ( wealth in the summer )
Heavens Mirror Bead ( mourning lost loved ones )
May Flower Bead ( protection )
Zephyr Lilly Bead ( guidance in dark times )
Orb Flower Bead ( good wishes )
Sunflower Bead ( happiness )
Aether Rose Bead ( balance )
There are multiple locations for bracelets to be created along campus grounds.
NOTE: The charm bracelets may be gifted to other Echoes participating in the Summer Festival. Upon voucher redemption, a link to the thread or ask featuring it is required to put this item on your stats page.
The Lunar Coast.
The Lunar Tournament
This activity is eligible for festival redemption.
The Trawler Docks are open and bustling with activity! During this time of year, the ocean is flourishing with many forms of sea life. Some locals offer scuba diving tours of Arcus Cove’s coral reefs, while others will gladly rent out boats for other residents to enjoy the clear blue waters.
Of course, the docks are also host to the largest fishing competition of the year: The Lunar Tournament.
There are three main categories that one could enter into:
Biggest Fish (measured by weight and length)
Most Fish (measured by total weight)
Rarest Fish (judged by leading Marine Biologists of Arcanus Isle).
The competition has a catch-and-release policy upon completion of the final scoring.
Winners of each category will receive a cash prize of 1,000 keys, a trophy representing their category, and a brand-new fishing rod!
Fish Spy
This activity is eligible for festival redemption.
Primarily marketed towards families with younger children, Fish Spy is an event taking place in Arcus Cove. Participants are given a bingo card and taken out the coral reefs. There, they can snorkel in the waters while looking for many breeds of fish on their cards. (The cards are water proof!)
Some fish to find that are native to the Arcanus Isle include:
Comet Fish
Gem Fish
Illumenoctopi
Ripple Kelpies
Successfully filled-out cards can be exchanged for a variety of fish charms.
Nighttime Shimmers and Glows
This activity is eligible for festival redemption.
In brilliant displays of wonder and light, a fireworks show is held every Sunday evening along Halycon Beach. Many gather all across the Lunar Coast just to watch the astonishing display. The firework shows change almost every night, with each display being more even grand than the last.
The show is hosted by Vander Bard of the Comet Promenade. Many enjoy watching the show on the Comets Ferris Wheel, especially with friends and loved ones.
Along the Comet Piers and Comet Promenade many shops offer great selections of fireworks, sprinklers, poppers, and plenty of fantastically sweet and savory treats the likes of fair foods.
The Clearview District.
Aevum Olympics
This activity is eligible for festival redemption.
Attention all sports fans! Hosted at the Clearview Stadium is the most highly anticipated events of the Isle! The Aevum Olympics. Aercon from all over Arcanus joing together to compete in various sporting events and prove their mettle. Sporting events include but are not limited to:
Track and Field (split between marathon and half-marathon sprints)
Swimming
Wrestling and Boxing
Various sports (e.g., soccer, football, baseball, tennis, etc.)
Pole Vaulting
Gymnastics
Ice Skating
Ping Pong
and many others!
Note: The Olympics can also include sports from an Echoes’ homeworld.
All are welcome to come and spectate or participate! There’s just one universal rule:
No Cheating.
Cheaters will be forced to repeat their event against an Olympian Android. (Specifically, one designed by the event’s biggest sponsor, the East Tower Company.)
It never loses.
Of course, Aevum’s Tossup is one of the most popular sports. Over the spring, the four teams have been preparing endlessly for the playoffs that occur during this event. Now, it is finally time for the four biggest teams to compete for the championship title.
See here for information on the local sport.
Make sure to follow Aevum Daily for updates!
Fanalea District.
The Golden Harvests
No people are more excited about the Sunflower Festival than the residents of the Fanalean Farmlands, and Echoes are encouraged to join in! Beneath the Golden Moon, the Fanalean community ensures that their fields are fully revitalized for the coming crops to grow.
Plenty of help is wanted, and Fanalean farmers employ any volunteers to pick up a trowel to clear the fields of Whisper Thistles, care for livestock, harvest the last spring produce, sow summer seeds, and prepare some fields to lie fallow for the season.
Up to 500 keys per day will be offered to participating echoes.
At night, the workers watch in awe as fields of sunflowers begin to glow brightly across the fields, matching the Zephyr Lillies around them. The sunflowers absorb sunlight in their petals, and then under the golden moon, they glow a bright golden color.
Sunflower Feast
During Sunflower Festival, locals will often spend time experimenting with new dishes and flavors. When new recipes have been concocted, chefs of all calibre gather around the bonfire at the center of Fanalea to share them. In fact, the whole community comes together!
Sunflower is a key ingredient in many of the foods found. A glowing, golden tea - called Golden Cortania - is made from the petals of the sunflower. It is especially a fan-favorite. Tins can of Golden Cortania be bought from select shops in the Vesper Town Trading Post.
Some of the foods that can be enjoyed include:
Sunflower Seed Muffins
Pumpkin Sauce Pizza
Eben Root Stew, and many others!
Honeyglow Meadery is also offering Sunflower Wine, which is only available during this festival.
The Aether Reserve.
This activity is eligible for festival redemption.
Keepers of the Lands, Skies, and Seas
As nature is the focal point of the Sunflower Festival, the Padedue Temple, Whisperwind Hacienda, and West Tower Society have combined efforts to create volunteer programs to help clean up and protect the natural world of Arcanus Isle.
Each of the participating groups has a specific focal point for what they bring to the organization. The Hacienda is focused on education, the Padedue Temple is focused on volunteer work, and the WTS is responsible for funding and advertisements.
Information booths with petitions written by the West Tower Society will be posted all throughout Arcanus. Signers will pledge to protect the environment and spread awareness about ways residents can keep Arcanus Isle spick and span.
Those who sign on to the petition pledge will be made automatic volunteers, where they will be assigned a location to clear up any trash and resident-made debris. These trips involve waking up early, and are often an all-day event. Supplies are provided to the volunteers by the West Tower Society, and Willow Westson has designed a cool shirt with “Keepers of the Lands, Skies, and Seas” written on it. —They’re tie-dye!
Most volunteer work will be found along the Lunar Coast. Primarily: Halycon Beach, Arcus Cove and Arcus Reef. Downtown Arcanus’ Quill Pillar Shores, the Aether Reserve’s Moonview Springs, and any of the parks across Arcanus are also available as volunteer locations.
Merchant Town.
Gateway Flea Market
This activity is eligible for festival redemption.
In the center plaza of Merchant Town, a giant, mysterious tent has appeared seemingly overnight! Instead of the various food stalls and market shops, there now sits a wondrous pavilion called the Gateway Flea Market.
This tent houses brand new stalls full of Aercon selling or trading their random assortment of goods to anyone who may find a home for them.
While many of of the prices come cheap, many other items may only be acquired through trading specific items that may take hours to find. An Echo dead set on a ware may find themselves embarking on a long and arduous Exchange Quest.
Curiously, in some of these stalls Echoes may come upon strange wares. Instead of the usual bits and bobbles however, what makes these wares so strange is that they may be familiar to the Echoes themselves.
These items range from books and journals, to trinkets, toys, jewelry and clothes, tools, decorations, and other such similar items. As with any item, these come at a price, and some merchants drive a harder bargain than others. However, as the marketeers love to say: One man’s trash is another man’s treasure.
Be warned if you see one of the Pyrite Pawners triplets! They are all ruthless in their pursuit of unique items to sell in their shop.
Note: The following restrictions apply:
The Items can:
- Be items that exist in an Echo’s native world
- Be pulled from any point in time in the Echo’s world, regardless of an Echo’s current or potential canon points.
- Be minor canon items, background items, and major canon items.
The items cannot:
- Be any belongings found on an Echo’s application, current or future.
- be weapons or magical in any way.
- be eligible for the Tier Four Homeworld Redemption item.
- Be larger than a two-foot cube.
- Be items that canonically belong to another character or from a world separate to their own.
All items redeemed must not serve a largely important purpose. e.g., Bilbo Baggins could not find one of the Ten Rings.
These items must be found in either thread or drabble form in order to keep them. In which, a brief description of what the item is, and may be used is required. The thread or drabble must be submitted to the Aevum Marketplace as proof for approval to put on one’s Stats page inventory.
Requests will be processed from June 20th - July 5th.
Viderenox Observatory.
Solstice Ball
This activity is eligible for festival redemption.
During the last two weeks of June, the main event held inside the observatory is the highly anticipated Solstice Ball. At the twin moon’s apex, the ceiling of the conservatory opens, allowing for the light of the Golden Moon to shine upon the dancers below.
In order to attend, the invited must present their golden letter to the attendants at the gate. Inside, arrivals will find the well-decorated room full of people dressed in their finest, fanciest attire.
Attendants walk between guests with trays of drinks and hors d'oeuvre, though larger portions may also be found at the open bar and snack tables. The food has been catered by the famous Chef Trop Chere, owner of the Casa Nova restaurant. The featured wine is, of course, Honeyglow Meadery’s Sunflower Wine.
The telescope is also open to those who may wish for a closer look at the stars. Janus Astrophel can be found assisting visitors with the equipment and teaching them about Aevum’s galaxy. The studies and offices are closed during the event. Echoes who prefer to explore will find these doors have been locked. Fortunately, other exhibits may be explored, creating quieter areas of rest during the party.
Of course, the main activity of the ball is the dance!
A live orchestra fills the hall with beautiful music, while the dancers pair and waltz under the stars. In some of the dance numbers, the floor of the observatory matches the night sky above. In tandem with the floating star lights around the hall, this creates the appearance of literally dancing among the stars.
NOTABLE LEGENDS:
The Golden Moon
The twin moons of the Aevum Isles have always held a certain air of mystery to them. Most scholars agree that these moons are a symbol of Ebenos, while the sun represents Ivurie’s qualities. As Aerconi understanding of the Aether grows, studies have shown that during select periods of time, one Aether may influx so greatly that its influence may even reflects upon its counterpart.
One of these select periods is in the beginning of summer. During this time, Ivurie Aether burgeons so greatly that it reflects in the largest of the two moons, turning it bright golden color. As the light of the golden moon bathes Arcanus in its glow, it can be noted that plants grow much faster than usual, and the wildlife become more active and present in day-to-day lives.
Many speculate that this phenomena is the Aether replenishing itself in all forms of life. There is, after all, no other time of year where Aevum sunflowers glow as they do during the summer nights.
Now, residents of Aevum Isles look to the glowing, golden moon and her many stars for glad tidings, good luck, and rejuvenation.
As usual, questions regarding the Sunflower Festival should be directed to the Masterlist!
Happy Summer Aevum Isles~
His eyes perked up with a bright smile. That's great! It's nice that he can fully greet her without danger looming around them. Besides, he can memorize the layout of the Isles while they walk. He may not be the most strongest, but his memory is nothing to scoff at.
"Alright! Let's be on our way then!" Tethu smiled happily. "Maybe, we can even explore more of the farmlands if that's-!" Just when he took two steps ahead, he stops. Frozen. Staring at a store window. Beyond the window held spring decorations and, of course being the namesake of the shop, sweets. From chocolate bunnies to candy flowers and strawberry desserts.
Tethu currently is staring at them like a vulture spying on a dead corpse. Oh dear. Those looked amazing. He wants them. No, he can resist. He has errands and should know the Isles better. He has self-control. He can resist.
"W-Well, I.. I uh.." Half of his brain yells to keep walking. No, no, we aren't going to be munching and gawking and wasting her time when he needs to learn this island's layout. Have some discipline, for wind's sake! He can't be causing trouble for this poor girl!
... But, maybe.. Maybe just a peek. To look inside. It doesn't hurt to look, right? Only one look inside, and then they're out. "... I mean, it'd be wise to get refreshments. Stay hydrated.. We can look, let me know if you'd like anything! My treat!" He said, opening the door for Luna and glanced inside- Oh sweet prickly pears.
This.. This is paradise. His eyes dilate at the colorful and welcoming sight of the many treats available. "There's so many!" He couldn't hold back his excitement, eyes sparkling like a million sapphires as he sped inside to gaze at the treats closer. "Woah, they have everything here! Look at the cupcakes, and is that chocolate?? Oh, the pastries look amazing! Look at all the fruit on that one! What is that, fruit tart??? I never seen a fruit tart like that before!! What is that on it, it's so red and small!"
Oh, he's practically drooling at the sight of the pastries.
Thinkin of Headcanons and this may be Fruits Basket influencing me but I really like the idea that Tethu knows Nour as the image of a perfect Chief. Calm, mild-mannered, respectful and kind. Just the definition of an amazing chief. But Tethu doesn't know that Nour in his teen years was an absolute menace who scared people and possibly got into fights and all that. Love the reformed delinquent trope.
You just know Nour has taught Tethu to be understanding and to not stir up trouble for no good reason, then would be at his water spirit like "gurl low key, I wanted to punch that asshole traveler in the face so hard."
"Oh, I can't trouble you with that!" He waves his hands, a bit suprised and embarrassed.
"I've explored a bit beforehand. B-But, maybe instead we can look at the local shops together? I don't think I've seen much of the shops. If that's alright with you, of course!" Which is true, he was hoping to do some errands today. Maybe grocery shopping even.
But, he can't burden her with that. Besides, he rather her have fun than do something boring like touring him around. He's great at memorizing the layouts of areas, he'll manage.
"It wouldn't be any trouble at all," Luna is quick to reassure just as he was quick to decline her help. She understands better than anyone that asking for help makes one feel like a burden. She was still learning after all.
At his suggestion though, she does smile and nod. "Mm. I was thinking about taking a look at some of the shops." And it was better to get to know a potential new friend under a much more pleasant circumstance.

Experience: While not experienced with Libraries, Tethu used to help Isaac with the bookstore and also had handled funds for it along with helping gather materials for books. He’s organized and a hard worker who has a keen eye for detail.
"Oh, I'm fine! There's no need to worry about me, I knew what I was getting into after all." He doesn't need to mention the whole 'being poisoned' situation. That was because he was too clumsy.
"But yes, I was new here. Or, still am? I haven't really got the chance to explore with the co- er.. Snow? That and all." Tethu sheepishly rubbed the back of his head, having to remind himself that the cold fluff has a name. It's still very foreign to him, the concept of snow and winter. All he knows is that he felt horribly drained and chilled to the bone.
"My name's Tethu. I came from a desert, or uh.. It used to be a desert? But life came back to it after.." His voice trails off, and he can almost feel the raindrops hitting his face and skin. He can almost see her transparent form before she..He shakes his head.
No, none of that.
"It's a long story. Nevertheless, I suddenly appeared here a bit before the event."
It's better to introduce yourself when you're not in the middle of danger. So naturally, when Tethu introduces himself, she will do the same. "I'm Luna. I've been here a while now." What happened before was nothing new for her.
"If you want, I can keep you company in checking places out. I-It'll be my thanks to you for helping me back there."
While he was only curious of the Tea-lip Party, he caved when he saw the delicious looking treats that accompany the tea. That paired with the shade and flowers made the place inviting and colorful. If he came here before the defeat of Chaos, then he wouldn't have believed so many flowers can grow in one place. He's still shocked at all the water around. There's so many ponds and lakes.
He didn't expect to see Logan again when he entered the table and being handed a cup. Gratefully accepting it, he sits down. "Oh, hello! I didn't expect you here." Tethu smiles, already eyeing the many small treats. "Do you like tea? I actually haven't tried much of it, mostly only medicinal ones. But, this smells great!"
It really did, honestly! A pleasant floral aroma with a good trace of sweetness. It wasn't like what teas he had back home, which peaked his interest. Especially with this honey stuff here! He's never tried honey before!
Oh, he almost lost his composure there. He should act more like a chief. He gently (restraining himself intensely) grabs a few of the sweets on the tray.
Tethu perked up at the quiet voice and looked up to see the girl he met on Ocellus Isle. It has been some time since that event, with things going back to a peaceful standard and a festival coming soon. The shift to warmer temperatures was welcoming but festivals feel a bit bittersweet to him.
Nevertheless, he gives Luna a soft smile. "Oh, there's no need to thank me! I'm just glad to help. Have you been recovering alright?" Even if rescued before anything truly horrible happened, the terror of that disaster would take a toll on anyone. Another concern is that the man responsible for it all is still out there, possibly plotting to attack them all again.
But, he shouldn't scare her with that. Better to let people enjoy the peace now that things have settled.
At the back of her mind, Luna knew she had to get stronger so something like that couldn't happen again. Of course, she was well aware that situations such as that were way out of her control. Even the strongest that she knew, those being the gods here, had no power against what happened.
"Was this.....were you still new here at the time?" She only asked because at the time, he had been a face she was not familiar with.
— 𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐇𝐄𝐋𝐃 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐓𝐀𝐏𝐄𝐒𝐓𝐑𝐘 in his arms carefully . as though it were a precious , fragile stone , and if he dropped it - if it fell - it would shatter and never be made whole again . of course , it was a wool - headed notion and for plenty reasons besides . even still , the memories woven into the piece were simply TOO PRECIOUS to risk . too precious to lose . rand let his fingers wander over the edges of the work , rising and falling with the bumps and ridges along the rolled border . he wanted to unfurl the thing and gaze upon it again . but it would be better to wait . to wait , and then put it somewhere safe . or hang it up somewhere he could always see it , and be reminded of home . of his friends . of his father . . . rand chewed on the inside of his cheek .
. . . and was STARTLED over his deeply woven contemplation by the little person - creature - no larger than the bench rand had sunk into when his legs had turned to jelly , and he had simply SAT , overcome by the tapestry and its memories . rand eyed the . . . thing . . . ( the man ?? ) warily and , unconscious of the movement , pulled his tapestry closer to his chest . lip curled . it was asking about it — no . no it was asking about where rand had gotten it . what it was , and where it - he - might go about getting his own .
❝ it's a tapestry . one of the ones the weavers at the temple can make for you , ❞ rand answered slowly . he blinked . he tried not to stare . FAILED AT THAT — and then cleared his throat and turned his head away . he pointed in the direction of the padedeu temple . ❝ they'll ask for memories - happy ones - in order to weave it together . ❞
Tethu had been exploring the Aether Reserve at the moment now that the shackles of winter had melted off. That's when he saw the man on the bench with the most magical tapestry he'd ever witnessed. Hearing that they're made at a temple nearby, his curiosity peaked. Temple? And they make these beautiful tapestries?
"Wow.. I had no idea there was a temple here." He said to himself, looking at the direction to where the man pointed. "I wonder what else is here, now that I can walk around the forests."
That's when Tethu noticed, and felt, that the man has been staring at him like his head was cut clean off. "Um.. Sir, are you alright? You look nervous." He's not intimidated or anything, right?
🍻-- He'd had a few of them throughout the years, granted most of the time they'd been followed by tragedy or trouble for even being slightly related to him (something in the genes, he supposed, at this point), and more often than not he hadn't even known that they existed until things went horribly wrong - kids, that was. Between all of his trysts with women, of course at least a couple of those would produce a kid or two. Not that any of them told him, or if they did he hadn't cared at the time or it hadn't reached him: the Mongrels had been that sort of case. Then there were the clones like Laura who still viewed him as a father figure. Akihiro had been his very own category of messed up. The situation with Amiko wasn't ideal either. - The new generations of mutants from Krakoa... the young new faces when he'd been teacher and headmaster...
He'd never been able to do it either right or properly.
Either way, here he was with a kid in his arms. Despite the protests, he'd picked the boy up, holding the kid close - no fair making the kid walk all the way. Besides even without his sense of smell being as acute as he was used to, he could feel the worry rolling off of the little guy in waves. And there was nothing more urging for those instincts of his than a scared child. "Just tell me where ya live, all right? I'll get you there."
Tethu tries to move a bit, maybe to leap off but he felt a wave of dizziness hit him again. Curse this cold weather.. He never felt so drained before. Well, besides the time he got poisoned by a Sorropent. He didn't expect that the chill can give him so much headache, especially when it's nothing compared to what he dealt with before.
"Storms.. I've handled storms.." Sandstorms were commonplace in the desert. And while rain was new to him, he wouldn't mind being stuck outside in heavy rain. A snowstorms seems more dangerous, but learning that they were basically frozen rain.. It wouldn't ever scare him. He could never be scared of something she made.
"Many times, I'm.. fine. I am conscious. I am not confused or in pain, so you can put me down please." Despite his struggle with the freezing season, he can't burden others with something that he could handle. It was a necessity for him to adapt, no matter what it is. He should be able to handle himself.
"Oh, hey...You're the one who helped me out of that awful place." She'd recognize him from anywhere. Luna smiles after gathering herself together and bows her head.
