Lucifer yawned and didn’t even look Anaels way. He helped make the baby but didn’t want to do anything further. She can have his child and then he can go on with his plan to raise the child to rule the universe. He brushed her off and continued reading the comics in the newspaper, laughing at the funny ones.

Lucifer was caught completely off guard when Anael turned around and suggested they have a child together. His mind already began thinking of the countless ideas and potential there would be to have a child with her. He could raise the kid himself, to love and adore him. That’s all he wanted after all and maybe a little taking over the world would be nice as well.

“So you’re willing to become full human to have my child?” He grinned and moved closer, hand resting on Anaels waist. His head tilted slightly. “I’ve yet to figure that one out. Humans seem to enjoy violence in general.” Lucifer commented with a shrug. 

“If you want this to happen, we better get moving. I’ll meet you in the bedroom. Remove your clothes and be ready for me.” He winked and went to grab the angel blade.

Sam honestly didn’t know how to respond to that. “Why…” He shook his head wondering what Lucifer’s actual motives were, but the result would be the same. “They’re gunna call you crazy, then when you prove you’re the actual devil you’re going to scare them to death.”

 “Really now Sammy?” The archangel laughed and flashed his red eyes. “How else would they explain me?” He asked, returning to normal. “I just want to have a little fun!”

The archangel scoffed at his father and laughed some more. So many excuses, it was pathetic. How could he not know what went on in the cage? He helped make it. He had him sent down to it. What amused him more is how god couldn’t even apologize for his mistakes.

“Really? All these decades you thought I was having a quiet little time out in the corner.” He snarled. “No, I’ve been fighting off the demons and nightmares that you and Michael created for me. Don’t give me that I didn’t know crap!” 

Shaking his head, he crossed his arms. “So will you ever apologize for screwing up or are you that egotistic that you think you can never do anything wrong.”

It was nearly impossible not to roll his eyes. He had already rolled them so much, he could probably see the back of his vessels head by now. Lucifer began to pace, holding out his hands. “Well what can I say? I have a temper.” He shrugged. “Everyone has flaws right?” He smirked and turned around to look out the window. 

“If that is considered abuse, I guess I should be going after our father for being the biggest abuser of all. After all, saying something he didn’t like got me put in that damn cage in the first place.” He growled but immediately stopped himself from losing his temper again.

Glancing over at Anael, Lucifer let out a sigh and closed his eyes. He did care about her and losing her once was enough.

“Fine. No more physical stuff. Believe it or not, some humans find it hot.” He teased. “Ever heard of Fifty Shades of Gray?”

“I’m sorry but that’s what happens when you’re in a cage being tortured for decades.” He snarled. “You sent Michael to put me in the cage because you weren’t strong enough to do it yourself. You know what that makes you? A coward.” Okay maybe he didn’t mean that entirely. He still loved his father but he was hurt. “I wouldn’t have a temper if you listened to me in the first place.”

Chuck frowned “What do you mean tortured? That was never part of it, It was just meant to be a time out.” He had his arms crossed. He was not really wanting to talk about any of this. He could tell Lucifer was mad, he tensed up and he frowned looking serious “I am not a Coward, don’t you dare talk to me like that.”

Lucifer could not believe what he was hearing. How could god not know what happened in the cage? He actually felt bad when Sam and Michael joined him. The torture that happened in the cage was horrible. Words could not begin to describe it. 

He was now laughing. Was this some kind of joke?

“You’re kidding me right? You didn’t know? That cage was designed to torture. You should come down for a drink sometime and I can give you a grand tour.” He smirked.

“What else am I suppose to think father? You abandoned your own sons and your own creations. You won’t even own up to your own mistakes or clean up the mess you made. What else would you call that?” If there was one thing about Lucifer that most people and angels got wrong, it was that he can be very blunt and honest when he wanted to be. He was still a liar but he knew better than to lie to his fathers face.

Anael looked up at the archangel. Why did she fall in love with him? was it because they were brother and sister in a techncial sense? And she had feelings already there. no. That can’t be it. Brothers and sisters don’t fall in romantic love. This is….what is this? she thought. All she knew was the rules didn’t apply to them. They were created not born. They could fall for their own kind. So she wasn’t worried about the ‘incest’ factor. She was worried about his personality and anger issues. And why on earth any woman would fall for that. “That’s a good question. Why would any woman fall for a man that chokes her. Hell a man that was willing to kill her for her grace until she made him an offer.” She shook her head. “You do realize this right here. This was us using each other. That’s how it started. It wasn’t meant to turn into anything else.”

Lucifer knew what he did wrong and he regretted it. He was sure there was no turning back but they both needed to move past it. He was already over it. Something inside of him snapped at the mention of the cage. The cage that he had been tortured in for decades. He still had nightmares of it. 

When it came to romances, Lucifer wasn’t one to actually consider anything. His focus was always on getting justice for himself. Most people would call it revenge. 

The archangel went quiet when Anael spoke about the choking. That could have been avoided if she didn’t mention the cage. 

“Look, I’m sorry for choking you.” He held up his hands defensively. “I lost my temper because I will not go back to the cage. Ever. Unless you’ve had to spend even a minute there, you wouldn’t understand how horrible it is.” The blond explained. “Who even gave you the right to bring it up..” He mumbled quietly.

“Maybe it didn’t mean to turn into something else but it did and I hope we can get past it.” Who would turn up a chance at being loved? It was all he wanted after all. “Please forgive me.”

I was trying to save you decades of regret.” His tone a little louder, almost yelling. “I was the only one who cared and you all betrayed me..” He paused. “And you can’t get past your ego to even apologize. Not like that will make a difference.” 

“You were unstable… You still are” Chuck said, “You refused to listen and you acted out, Then you and Michael refused to stop fighting.” Chuck was sighing. He still didn’t think he had been in the wrong “Calm down Lucifer, its that temper of yours that got you in trouble in the first place.”

This proves I’ve been right all along and I was punished wrongly for it.” He nearly growled. Lucifer loved his father but he had a lot of resentment from being trapped for so long. He warned God about the humans and no one believed him. 

Chuck was looking at him “I did what I thought was best at the time, You were out of control.” He said,  He still refused to admit he had been wrong. He wasn’t sure what his son’s intentions were even now.

A small smile found its way to Lucifers lips. He was amused by what Anael had just told him. Sure he cared greatly for her but he never thought that anyone would fall in love with him. According to the world he was evil. What no one understood was, he was angry and mistreated and many failed to see that. 

Leaning forward the archangel smirked. “So why did you? We all have our own choices. Why did you fall in love with me?”

Lucifer scoffed, ashamed at what his father had become. “Retired or just tired of caring?” He asked, arms crossed. “You created these flawed murderous hairless apes and now that they’re proving me right you decide to run off like you did with all of us. It seems whenever you make a mess, you run from it. I’d like to know why.”    

“There is nothing more I can do.” Chuck said “My creations need to learn from their own mistakes, I am not cleaning up any of this mess anymore. My influence doesn’t matter anyway, It is not going to stop the war or fighting or the actions of my creations, So No I am done, I am retired,”
