It was an absolute pleasure turning this piece of bubinga into a bowl. The grain really popped when the finish of Yorkshire Grit followed by Microcrystalline Wax was applied. My beloved Grandad passed away this weekend, he would always save his small change for me when I went to visit so I have made this beech bowl so I have a place for my spare coins so I have a constant reminder of such a lovely man. I shaped the outside with a bee hive shape and finished with Wood Wax 22. My project this week I have named 'Cosmic Platter' which was from a 10 inch square piece of tulip wood, turned and then used different paint techniques to decorate, I especially enjoyed the centrifugal forces which created an amazing pattern.
