Sometimes I believe I was born to love.

But my heart full of love,

Will never beg someone

To love me the same way I love them

You can't love someone into loving you back.

I presented my heart to you,

I loved you like a sister.

I gave you all my heart,

And expected you to give yours back.

I poured my soul into you,

Until there was nothing left of me.

And then you asked of more.

I was shriveled dry like a grape,

I gave you everything I had.

Yet you still tormented me for the ocean.

You were my chosen family,

But I wasn't yours.

The little girl inside my heart

Once as tall as the door handle.

Now looks out through shattered glass windows.

I'm not the little kid I used to be,

The muddy puddles have long dried up.

I build my last sand castle,

While kids older than me continued to play.

She wonders what iv done to her.

I will never be the same.

Nostalgia runs deep within my bones,

It intertwines with my dna.

I long for my childhood home,

Just the way it was,

Just the way I remember it.

The obliviousness of childhood,

How I desperately want it back.

I sprung out of childhood too quick,

Without saying goodbye.

Now I long for rainy days in that house,

Playing board games or colouring.

I'm homesick for a place

I can only visit in my dreams.

It's 3am

The world is asleep.

I open my window to the sound of crashing waves and leaves blowing.

The cold air hugs my shoulders,

As I click the lighter.

The smoke wraps in my lungs,

As I gaze at the empty street below.

Im like an owl,

watching the world as it rests,

While it's quiet and peaceful.

The world is gentle at this time.

And I'm here to watch it.

Like an apple on the grass

I decayed into mush

Before you put me into the compost.

Decaying destroyed me,

The compost was a relief.
