I have never welcomed a name day more in my life than this year. I say goodbye to 23 cycles around the sun, six leap years, and the hashtag #nobodylikesyouwhenyoure23 . I am very excited to be 24 years old and I graciously open my heart and mind to the opportunities that life and the world around will bring me. Oh, and of course the adventures because who would I be without those! My twenty-third year was the worst year of my life, but I can already feel twenty-four is going to be completely different. Thank you thank you thank you to the beautiful humans who have celebrated "birth-week" with me starting with my return home to Rochester. 'The Little Boxes that Held Hope, Despair, and Desire.' I'm full of negative vibes - my spirit just feels fractured. I question if maybe I feel too much at times? I fall so hard for people and experiences and I crave an adventure I have not yet found, but today I'm filled with these broken nuisances that I for these past couple weeks was able to shake and feel actual happiness. I have this tenacity to love, but I'm such a fragile creature and maybe sometimes I throw all my marbles in hoping for the best, but I'm so easily rejected. And this feeling of rejection is unbearable. Today that feeling weighs hard down on me. I don't understand how I can always seem so blinded and misjudge my surroundings - perhaps I evaluate too much and it's all in my head and now I'm trapped in the middle of am I just being silly, or is it real? the funny thing about the phrase, “i’m sorry,” is unless your actions match the phrase, it’s absolutely meaningless. i want to know how you are, what you’re doing. i want the simple goodnight texts and the early wake up good mornings. i want to know i have you in my future and that even when my days seem bleak, that everything is going to be okay. but, all i feel like is a chore and nothing more because it’s even too hard for you to just say “hi.”
