When I started loving you, I started to love every inch of you, perfection and imperfection alike.
You are like an open canvas given plenty new strokes of brush, different colours and shades appearing one by one as the time passes. To me, you have already grown into a beautiful painting by the time I’ve known you better, I’d say - a painting of an ocean reflecting the brightness of the clear blue sky. Silly as it is when we both know you’re not fond of the ocean itself, but if you come to think of it, the ocean is a beautiful part of the nature.
Just like you.
In the darkest parts of it, it has creatures that lurk away from the knowledge of people. I remind myself that you have that as well, the secrets and insecurities you’ve kept away for so long that you haven’t told me. And that is okay, that is where it lives. And it shall stay there as long as you allow.
But there is also a part of the ocean where it shone by the radiant skies and the bright sun, and if you’d notice, it blinds you if you look at the ocean on a bright day. Have you seen the corals, and the colourful fishes swimming across the seas in joy? There are dolphins that you said are very cute once (I vaguely remember this detail) and sea creatures that give lives to new offspring, and it attracts people to it just to admire its beauty.
And that’s how I see you too. You are radiant, always wanting to make people happy despite having troubles of your own. You tried to hide things back in the dark but it can always come back, come swimming back seeking light and bothering your thoughts. I understand that it happens.
The tides can be high, but sometimes it calms. You know what people do when the ocean does that? They accept it. They acknowledge it. So when you’re in a foul mood and you don’t feel like returning a smile, you may do so, because I will understand. I acknowledge it.
So never, ever apologize.
You might not be able to stop everything that is bad to come back altogether, but I believe that you can try pushing it far, far away. Denying it is hard, not even I’m able to push away negative thoughts, but the good things always make up to it. Sometimes bad things happen, sometimes all at once but it doesn’t mean we have to dwell on it, because believe it or not, there are so much more good things in life than the opposite.
I might have not made any sense, this has been Jaehyun being an incoherent mess… but to get my point across:
It’s fine to feel what you feel. But it’s not fine to let it swallow you whole, attempt to get the worst out of you when you’re so much more than what you think you are.
This hell of word vomit… ah I can’t even. I just want you to know that you can always lean on me whenever you like and not hold back at all. After all, we belong to each other.
