Leoklein Headcanon

During their Nighthawk days, Leonard would purposefully forget small objects like a pen or pocket watch so he could borrow Klein's. This habit started because he noticed how prepared Klein always seems to be. So, to get closer to his fellow protagonist's secret, he forgets. Klein gets very annoyed by it but lends out his things anyway.

Could you kindly fill us in on honorifics generally used between characters in the novel? I can see director Ho using -nim referring to Soleum but otherwise English fan translation usually opts for "Mr." or "sir" etc.

Ok so when I say honorifics I usually refer to 존댓말 which not only includes how people refer to each other but also includes the vocab they use, how they end their sentences etc,. I looked it up and the whole thing is apparently usually translated as 'honorifics' 🤷

Also, if you just want to look at how they all refer to each other, this document has the full list. I'm also looking at the document as I write the below.

With that out of the way...

How people talk to Sol (use of honorifics)

* for characters that refer to each other with their rank, sometimes they add surname or full name to the rank. For example, Assistant manager Eun-nim (eun daeri-nim). I've omitted all these, it's there in the document.

* contains spoilers up to 277

* Soleum, when talking to other people, usually uses respectful sentence endings, and usually the more formal form of it (~습니다).

1. Go Yeongeun

- uses respectful sentence endings (~요)

- Soleum-ssi, Roe Deer-ssi (noru-ssi), Agent Grape-nim (podo yowon-nim)

- Soleum to GYE uses Yeoungeun-ssi, Goral-ssi (sanyang-ssi), Agent Mint-nim (bakha yowon-nim)

2. Baek Saheon

- uses respectful sentence endings (~요)

* Baek Saheon tried a couple times to use casual language (without respectful sentence endings) and got shot down quickly by KSE.

* To Agent Grape, in Jisan he used casual language (without honorifics), on the paper boat he uses respectful sentence endings (~요)

- Supervisor-nim (juim-nim)

- Soleum to BSH mostly uses you (casual) (neo)

* Grape to BSH uses Sahoen-ssi, civillian-nim (shimin-nim)

* Sol to BSH initially used honorifics (~요, ~습니다) but now uses casual sentence endings.

3. Jang Heoun

- uses respectful, more formal sentence ending (~습니다)

- Soleum-ssi, Roe Deer-ssi (noru-ssi), Mascot-nim

- Sol to JHE uses Heoun-ssi, Bison-ssi (Deulso-ssi)

4. Kang Yihak

- uses a mix of ~요 and ~습니다

- Supervisor-nim (juim-nim), cat-nim (goyangi-nim), employee-nim (jikwon-nim)

- Sol apparently never said anything to KYH directly while referring to her! I think he'd probably use pony-ssi.

5. Eun Haje

- Uses casual sentence endings.

- Roe Deer-yah (noru-yah)

- Sol to EHJ: Assistant manager-nim (daeri-nim)

4. Park Minseong

- uses casual sentence endings.

- Roe Deer-yah (noru-yah) (*in 212 he also tried Soleum-ah in effort to bring him back from what he thought was contamination)

- Sol to PMS: Supervisor-nim (juim-nim)

5. Lee Jaheon

- uses a mix of more formal respectful sentence ending (~습니다) as well as more formal sentence ending for orders (~십시오)

- Roe Deer-ssi (noru-ssi), Soleum-ssi

- KSE to LJH uses Chief-nim (gwajang-nim) and Team Leader-nim (jojang-nim)

6. Jin Nasol

- uses casual sentence endings.

- You (neo), top of the batch (suseok)

- Sol to JNS uses Assistant Manager-nim (daeri-nim)

7. Lee Seonghae

- uses respectful sentence endings, cutified (~여 instead of ~요)

- Supervisor-nim (juim-nim), mascot-nim, employee-nim (jikwon-nim) -> roe deer-nim (noru-nim)

- Sol to LSH uses Supervisor-nim (juim-nim) -> later he was told to refer to her just as Dolphin (dolgorae-nim/ssi)

8. J3

- uses respectful sentence endings (~요)

* squad B leader used casual sentence endings.

- Hey (jeogi), Roe deer-ssi (noru-ssi)

* squad B leader used 'employee dragon' (yong sawon)

- Sol to J3 initially used Sergeant-nim (banjang-nim) but now mostly uses Jay-ssi

9. Kwak Jegang

- used old fashioned sentence ending for referring to your youngers (~하게) -> now uses respectful, formal sentence ending (~습니다)

- You (old fashioned way of referring to your youngers) (jahne), Soleum-ssi, Roe Deer-ssi (noru-ssi) etc -> 130666, you (more respectful) (dangshin), employee-nim (jikwon-nim)

- Sol to Kwak used to use Chief-nim (gwajang-nim), now no longer of course lol he just orders him around without referring to him

10. Ho Yuwon

- uses respectful sentence endings, a mixture of ~요 and ~습니다

- Soleum-nim, Roe deer-nim (noru-nim)

* he uses -ssi for other employees so this is notable

- Sol to Ho used to use Director-nim (isa-nim), again he hasn't since becoming 130666 lol

11. Cheong Dallae

- Uses old fashioned sentence ending for referring to your youngers (~하게)

- Supervisor Soleum (Soleum juim), You (old fashioned way of referring to your youngers) (jahne)

- Sol to Cheong used Managing director-nim (상무님)

12. Braun

- uses respectful sentence endings, a mixture of ~요 and ~습니다

- Roe deer-ssi (noru-ssi), Soleum-ssi, Friend

- Sol to Braun initially used Host-nim (sahoeja-nim), now it's Braun, you (casual) (neo), friend

* Sol uses casual speech to Braun. Braun offered right after their initial meeting that he could, and Sol accepted. Braun himself always uses respectful sentence endings due to his profession (with a couple of notable exceptions when he got mad at LJH)

13. Ryu Jaekwan

- uses respectful, formal sentence endings (~습니다)

- civillian-nim (shimin-nim) -> you (more respectful) (dangshin), Kim Soleum-ssi -> Agent Grape (podo yowon)

- Sol to Bronze uses Agent-nim (yowon-nim), Agent Bronze-nim (Cheongdong yowon-nim)

14. Agent Choi

- casual sentence endings

- junior-nim (hoobae-nim) -> Grape-yah (podo-yah), Soleum-ah

- Sol to Choi uses Agent-nim (yowon-nim), Agent Choi-nim (Choi yowon-nim)

To celebrate Han Yoojin's birthday, I fan translated the free official S-Classes game written and created by Geunseo! It contains spoilers for the manhwa and light spoilers for the novel, but it's original content that is not directly related to the plot of either.

It features multiple character routes, each with multiple endings. I'll also post guides sporadically on how to get each ending.

Recommended play order. Keep trying until you reach S-rank before moving onto the next! Or if that's too hard, feel free to skip around <3 1. Han Yoohyun 2. Song Taewon 3. Sung Hyunjae 4. Han Yoojin

I was thinking about how wow it's so cute that the syllables of Ryu Jaekwan's first name(재관) are hidden in the syllables of the Disaster Management Bureau (재난 관리국 ; jae-nan gwan-ri-guk).. such that i've often see kr fandom abbrv. 재난 관리국 to just 재관국(jaegwan-guk) in korean... And right as I was thinking it's probably just a coincidence though... I thought Wait... what if it's not a coincidence and that's why the author named him 재관 in the first place...🥹😭😭😭 (ch 203 spoilers below:)

Even if not... it's so sweet and fitting bc Jaekwan's home IS the DMB... so for his name to be hidden in the syllables like that...🥹🥹🥹😭 SOBS

u literally cant separate 재관 from the 재난 관리국... that's his home, where he belongs... ㅠㅠ

While reading Witch Hat Atelier I noticed a few subtlies in dialogue, character designs and character actions which reveal something about the characters. I found they way Kamome Shirahama foreshadowed and designed her chacters interesting. So, I thought why not make a little list?

Dialogue: Silverwash Syndrome

In the beginning Coco inquires about the inks through their noticeable placements allowing Tartah to know which ones she’s referring to by memorisation, but when she relies merely on he asks for her to count – to give him it’s position.

Dialouge: Pointed Cap Ornaments

The depth of Qifrey and Olruggio's relationship is weaved throughout the story much like other character's. I love the way hints are sewn into the story such as their swapping of ornaments.

We are told that witch’s pointed caps are a witch's “treasured possession”, something they do not want to lose. Despite this they both gave up parts of their pointed caps to each other. It leaves one wondering just how deep their connection lies.

Character Design: Richeh & Euini comparisons

Their designs, in the form of their fringe length, mirrors their comfortability in being themselves.

Richeh refuses to relinquish any part of herself, having a clear precepting of who she is has shorter fringe perfectly displaying her eyes.

Euini who wishes to be a different person has a longer fringe which covers his eyes.

And eyes are known to be windows to the soul, a mirror into the heart of a person. As such Richeh proudly lets others see her while Euini hides himself.

Notably in scenes where Euini accepts himself his eyes are shown through the fringe, a hint towards his growth.

Character Actions: Coco’s greeting

Coco's greeting to the Wise of Teachings, Beldaruit, perfectly captures Coco's Outsider origins.

She's late to kneel, shocked and unsure of what to do. When Tetia notices and kindly explains to Coco, she still messes up. This is because although Tetia told Coco to clasp her hands to her left, she didn't say which hand should be on top leading to Coco doing the opposite. Additionally, Coco couldn't peek at the other's to check due to their bodies hiding their hands.

That's all I have for now! Well...ones that I have noted down properly. I have a few others tucked away for later so I might make another of these!

Kim Dokja isn't a gamer, though. He's a beta tester. He finds loopholes, flaws, bugs in the system, some obscure forgotten feature he can twist to his advantage. He isn't meant to beat the game. He's meant to break it.

LoM x Sanrio pt. 1

A what if LoM collabed with Sanrio idea!

When choosing Sanrio characters for Klein & Leonard (the characters in this post) I wanted not only for their appearances to match but also personality traits. This is also why I have only done Klein and Leonards…it’s very time consuming.

Klein & Chococat

Both black cats with large eyes

Chococat can pick up information via his four whiskers kind of links to Klein’s Seer abilities to divine information.

Both love sweets

Chococat has a hobby of stargazing and cf has linked stargazing in lom to longing for home

Chococat is logical, thoughtful and intuitive and I think this matches Klein and his cautious approach to situations.

Leonard & Pochacco

Red hoddie can link to the Red Gloves

Leonard is also often dog/wolf coded (although he is also associated with bunnies due to a pun)

Pochacco is clumsy, curious and athletic matching Leonard’s stumble when he first drank the Sleepless potion (he also skids to a stop in a few scenes in vol. 1). The athletic part obviously matches the enhance physical abilities of the Sleepless pathway.

I plan on doing the other characters (probably tc only) but I'm curious if anyone else has any ideas which sanrio character would pair well with a lom character?
