This thought did cross my mind, ngl, but I wasn't able to tell with full confirmation since we'll need to check the whole of D9 along with D10 for that! Another reason why I wasn't sure was because of the fact that nakshatras don't seem to have as much prominence in D9 as it does in D1 (not that it doesn't at all!) so unless we have supporting placements planet wise, it would be hard to tell!

I understand your worry! Personally, I believe that a placement cannot be 100% bad, they all have their good and bad sides, but some could be slightly more challenging than the other!
As for this particular placement, it is a slightly challenging one when it comes to progeny. If you are somebody who wants kids, you might face some troubles initially. It could also indicate facing power struggles with lovers or in dating (not long term relationships or with FS, 7th lord needs to be seen for that!). Sometimes the efforts/hard work that you put in may not seem to yield results as expected.
As for the bright side, this placement indicates being able to find happiness in the comfort of yourself. It's possible that ur talents are recognized more amongst foreign land/individuals than ur native place. You also possess great creative abilities as well, especially in performing arts or behind the scenes of it!

Venus, Mercury and Rahu in 10th house, that too in Taurus, is a great placement in D1! It shows somebody who loves their career and has a good, likeable reputation at work place.
Now as for your doubt, considering both ur D1 and D9, I do think that it's not about you loosing your reputation, but rather you being more detached from your career and work life after a certain point in your life! Perhaps initially you were quite career oriented and obsessed about promotions and stuff, but after 30s you don't feel as interested to chase them...if you get what I mean? D9 10th lord in 12th could mean that you might have opportunities abroad or so, but with the sun being debilitated here, you might have to make sacrifices for your career at some point.
