Moving takes up waaaay more time than I’d like. Thankfully you don’t really need much to get a good workout in 😊🏠❤️ . . After going through some major changes this summer, it’s been hard for me to keep a consistent gym flow going. So with my first day back in the gym after almost 2 weeks, I decided to kill myself with the first two total body exercises I could think of for my workout last night. . Man Makers (although I definitely feel like it’s made me a pretty strong woman) . Then I followed that with... . Turkish Get Up (or in my case, Filipino Get Up... okay I’ll stop now 😅) . . . When I say “followed with”, I mean I superset the Man Makers with the Turkish Get Up. ☠️ . Let me tell you, I definitely killed myself by my 2nd set and my push-ups drive me crazy when I keep rewatching this video 🤬. Guess that means I’ll just have to re-do this superset 🙄 . . What‘a the difference between top and bottom squats? . . So when I shot the top video, I intended to work on depth using light weight and high reps. At the bottom of the squat, you’ll notice a... DUN DUN DUN... butt wink. . Now wtf is a butt wink and is it bad?? Well a butt wink is the posterior rotation of the pelvis which coincides with the movement of the lumbar spine into a flexed position and can occur when a squat breaks parallel or sometimes earlier on in other’s squats, maybe depending on mobility. It is a controversial topic as there are those that argue increased injury as the lumbar spine goes into a extension-flexion-extension cycle. You MAY be able to fix a butt wink by improving flexibility and mobility but there may also be structural limits that mobility cannot change. There just is no definitive answer to fixing them at all! So are they bad? It all really depends. . So in this bottom video, I slowed down my tempo and stopped my squat at parallel in my attempt at avoiding the infamous butt wink all together. My goals always consist of proper form and consistency so rather than perfecting squat depth (which is a topic of its own), I prefer working on good form as I increase weight/reps/sets/whatever. As with anything else, listen to your body, remember what works for you, and of course SAFETY! 🏋🏽‍♀️ Please comment your questions and thoughts below! (at West Hollywood, California)

Let’s take it back to the time I brought my Opti-Greens to my 9-5 (more like 4:30-2) and @_breaaaaaanna_ took a scoop of Opti-greens 50 to the DOME. 😬 . . You know, I love my Opti-Greens but this is some twisted shit. 😂 Anything to get your greens right? . . So why is my bottle all dented in? Well, I commute a lot so I have one that I have in my work bag and one at home so there’s no excuse to not take it. Meal prep does take time and effort, but having someone to chop and cook with you cuts down the time and you can learn from one another and learn together the different ways of cooking your favorite meals. 🥗 🍗 A support system is important to help you keep on top of your goals! Remember, you are who you surround yourself with. Surround yourself with a bunch of fast food eating people and you’ll probably dabble with a chicken nugget or 10. Surround yourself with healthy living, you’ll live a healthy life.
