Getting prepped for the spring, My fall chemical peel
So it's October and I literally couldn't wait to get my skin rejuvenated from the beaten it took from the summer. I protect my skin as much as possible but, those sneaky UVA/UVB rays from the sun creep in and can catch a girl off guard sometimes. Every fall, I do a tune up on body from head to toe. So to start the ritual off, I went in and met with my Dermatologist and got my trusty ole Chemical Peel. Say what you, want but, a girl swears by these bad boys! It is uncomfortable for the first 10 min once the solution is applied (they give you a little fan for the burning sensation) but, it subsides after a while. I have to admit that there is a bit of not so cuteness shortly following in the day to come so, if you can take off from work please do so or you will be ducking and hiding while dropping your DNA along the way. Your skin will feel a little tight he next morning so apply plenty of sunscreen and moisture as much as you can stand. After a day or two, your skin will begin to peel, be careful not to disturb the process. What I mean by that is not to pick, scratch or irritate the skin by no means. If you do, it will damage the new delicate skin beneath the surface. I know- it's seems to be a lot to go through but, boys and girls, it's worth the headache. You will notice that the skin on top will get really dark, it's just the chemical doing it's thing and the skin on top is now dead and is acting as a protectant over the new skin. Oh yeah, one major point to make is to stay out of the sun at lead for 10 day or until you are done molting ( yes, molting like a crab or a snake). After maybe, 7-10 days( that's how long it takes my skin to go through the process) you emerge from darkness as a radiant light of beauty, with soft, subtle, dewey skin that radiant and clear of sun damage and blemish. Your tone will even out, any fine lines or wrinkles will disapear and you may become brighter. You will be more sensitive to the sun after this process so be deligent on apply sunscreen as much as possible. I love how my skin looks and feels after a peel, I recommend doing the treatment with a licensed Esthetician or Dermatologist. It may be a little dangerous to play scientist with acid like chemicals on yourself but, hey, if you are willing to take the chance and be the Mad Hatter- try a peel that is safer for home use like a glycolic peel. Well, ladies and gents, that my spill on my fall beauty regimen to staying radiant and fab for when the spring rolls around. If you would like to have a copy of my full fall and winter regimen, send me a note, I am always willing to help a girl be and stay beautiful! Oh, wait, I have questions for you. Would you had a chemical peel done on your face? What is your awesome skin care regimen? Ciao for now! Xoxo BS (Bianca Savvy)
